"The Order of the Worlds"
(Book 2 Chapter XXI)
 

 

Introduction
P.780-781, 790-791 explains the order of the worlds; that the higher manifestation of the planes of Life, Mind, etc. in the upper hemisphere in the involution is what enables those same planes to emerge in material life in the evolution. Likewise, there are other supra-subtle realms -- like the vital realms -- that have a degree of influence on us.

Here are the main points in greater detail:

Influences of Other Worlds on Us
Through inner experiences there is an opening to planes beyond the material. As a result we discover the existence and influences of other worlds [universal forces and powers], which play an important role in our evolution.

We discover actions from these other planes of higher powers and principles on our being and nature through our subliminal being. These actions can put an end to the power of the inconscient. [As we rise in consciousness through our inner experiences and connect with the superconscient forces and powers, we bring in those powers and forces through our subliminal being that overcome the limiting influences of the subconscient on us. Since the subliminal sits on the surface of the subconscient, by opening to the superconscient it can help the subconscient evolve. When the subconscient evolves all of its negative influences on us can weaken.]

The Real-Idea is Being aware of what is in itself and automatically self-creative by the force of that Truth-awareness. (Paraphrase of Sri Aurobindo)

[Preliminary Explanation: The Divine in its essence is what we call Being. We can bring that Being into the Becoming of our daily lives. Thus the Divine and ourselves can be Being. When the Divine as Being or us as living out Being in the Becoming, we have the Truth awareness. When Being is aware of what is in itself and is automatically self-creative by its force of truth-awareness, then the Real Idea is born. It is the ultimate idea of conception that if touched on instantly enables the idea to occur, as the Divine manifest the Real Idea of a universe which it created. We can develop that same capacity of Real Idea to bring the infinite into the finite in our own existence.]

Why Matter is Spiritual
All that emanates from the Absolute is spiritual. Energy emanated from the Absolute. Since matter is a product of energy, then matter must be spiritual.

• There are gradations in the involution that precede the evolution and make it possible.

• The one eternal Spirit is the original power and the original existence. 

• The Real-Idea is Being aware of what is in itself and automatically self-creative by the force of that Truth-awareness.

• We admit the Will of the supreme and cosmic Being as the indispensable condition for the existence of the universe.

• Matter is a product of Energy.

• Energy is spiritual since it emanates from the Absolute.

• So matter is a product of spirit.

• All physical or supraphysical truth must be founded on experience, not mental belief alone. "The subliminal consciousness ...  is a witness to truth and its testimony is confirmed again and again ...." The inner experience most intimately conveys to us the existence and action of the larger planes beyond the material. "There is an opening of our mind and life parts to a great range of subjective-objective experiences in which these planes present themselves no longer as extensions of subjective being and consciousness, but as worlds;..."

• This organization includes the existence of beings who have taken a subtle substance that we can know through our subtle sense. Though these worlds and beings may have nothing to do with ourselves and our lives, they enter into secret communications with earth-existence. It is possible to receive help, guidance, harm, or misguidance from these beings. It is possible in certain subliminal states of consciousness to enter into these worlds and know their secrets. [As Mother did.]

• The planes of consciousness enable their corresponding realities to manifest.

• Humans are intermediaries through whom the higher planes reveal their light, power, and beauty.

• Our human consciousness is the instrument, the intermediary, the point in the development of light and power out of the Inconscience into liberation. 

• "The existence and influence of other worlds are a fact of primary importance for the possibilities and for the scope of our evolution in terrestrial Nature."

• "A secret continuous action of the higher powers and principles form their own planes upon terrestrial being and nature through the subliminal self, which is itself a projection from those planes [!] into the world born of the Inconscience, must have effect and significance.

• "An action from within and an action from above can overcome the predominance of the material formula, diminish and finally put an end to the power of the Inconscience ... substitute the Spirit for Matter ..."
