THE EVOLUTION
Here we present the detailed explanation of our Theory of Creation in terms of the Involution.
The involution,
Evolution is Rediscovery of
Lost Spirit/Being of Creation
The Spirit Being has been absorbed and disappears in the process of the
involution. Thus the evolution is the bringing back, the rediscovery of the
Spirit that was lost. We as universal instruments enable this through our own
higher consciousness.
We can therefore
say that evolution is the progressive unfolding of the
Spirit Being into the Becoming of life, the
Spirit reemerging in the
practical life.
Evolution is Overcoming the
Inversion of Creation
Evolution is the method to
overcome Non-Existence through and beyond the dualities of life and death;
Inconscience through and beyond its dualities of Truth and Falsehood, and
Knowledge and Error ; and Insensibility through and beyond its dualities of
Pleasure and Pain.
The Involution that is Reversed in the
Evolution
The involution begins with a self-conceptive Real Idea of the Divine to manifest
a universe for the Delight of being, creates the planes of mind, life, and
matter, and then through a process of self-absorption hides them before
creation; whereas the evolution is the reverse process where matter appears,
where the plane of life emerges from matter, where mind emerges from life, and
Spirit (Being) from mind. In that process of coming to higher planes of
spiritual mind to spirit man has the joy of self-discovery of his higher
consciousness, which gives him the Delight of being, the very purpose for which
the Absolute, the Divine manifest this universe in the first place.
EMERGENCE OF
ENERGY AND MATTER
Energy Emerges from Splitting of Consciousness,
and the Emergence of Matter from Energy
As a result of
the splitting of the Consciousness-Force, Energy is created in the involution.
As that Energy gathers, moves, and formulates, matter emerges. (The splitting of
the Consciousness-Force created Knowledge and Will. The Knowledge acting on the
Will releases the plane of Life and Energy. When Knowledge is completely
absorbed and evaporated into the Will, the Energy moves, coagulates and turns
into forms which fuse and become Matter. Matter has no Knowledge or
Consciousness and is thus Inconscient.)
End of Involution, Beginning of Evolution
At the point
that energy coagulates into objective uniqueness the involution ends and the
evolution begins.
Matter from Energy at Rest that
Began to Move
Matter came into existence when motionless energy born of the involution began
to move in the evolution and then coagulated into distinct formulations of this
energy. (When the Knowledge was drained into Will, Energy that moves,
coagulates, and fuses is Absorbed, which enables the distinct forms of Matter to
come about.)
Emergence of Matter to Animus of Life to Mind
Once matter manifests in the universe from out of an essential Energy, the
evolution continues. Out of matter emerges the animus of Life (i.e. the Vital
dimension in the universe), and out of Life/Vital, through sentient beings,
emerges the dimension of mind in the universe. (It should be pointed out that in
the Involution there is the emergence of the plane of Mind (from
Supermind) from which the plane of Life and Matter emerge. In the
evolution perceivable matter, then perceivable animated matter,
i.e. animus of life, and then perceivable mentality themselves emerge in
formulations of force.
Matter, Life, and Mind
Matter is a result of a conscious Divine Energy. Life
that will emerge from Matter is a form of the divine
energy; a creative urge of matter. Mind that will emerge from
Life uses Matter and Life
as a means of expression.
Expressions of
Energy in Life
-There is a field of energy that has emerged, and continues to emerge
from the Consciousness-Force of the Absolute. That energy is the plane
of Life. Life is then a sea of energy permeating all of existence that
gives rise to all forms in the universe.
-Life is a field of energy that takes form materially, vitally, mentally, and spiritually.
-In life there is matter, i.e. the material plane, which express through material energies, there is the vital plane which expresses through vital energies, there is mind, which expresses through mental energies, and there is the supramental plane beyond mind which expresses through supramental energies.
-Life expresses through gross/material, subtle, and causal formations. Gross/material means the thing expresses as physical substance and can be perceived with the senses. When a thing expresses subtlely, it is not perceived through the senses, but is invisible. When a thing expresses causally, not only is it invisible but it is infused with spiritual consciousness giving it ultimate power of effectivity.
-Matter (e.g. the stone or the human body) expresses at the gross/material plane, as well as subtle, and causal planes; Vital individual wants, desires, emotions, feelings, attitudes, etc. and other vital life energies express predominantly at the subtle plane (though they can express causally as well.) Thoughts, ideas, opinions, beliefs, logical thoughts, etc., of the mind express fully at the subtle plane. Aspects of the spirit and supermind express causally (i.e. super-subtlely).
FORMS IN THE UNIVERSE ARE FORMS OF THE ORIGINAL FORCE
Forms of Force
-Everything in the
universe, seen and unseen is a formulation, i.e. a form of the Original Force
that extended from Existence/Being, i.e. Spirit in
the involution.
Being/Spirit then is the hidden underlying substance of the universe that we
miss.
-Force was
then anterior, previous
to the form that it enabled.
-Everything that takes form in the manifestation, i.e.
the known universe, was anterior, existed as potential form, as
consciousness-force, before the creation. This is even now an ongoing process.
All Forms,
Matter, We are Divine
What we think of as unspiritual outer forms (matter, life, us) is at a deeper
level seen as spiritual as well. The forms of the universe are
manifestations of the consciousness and force of the Divine. Matter is a
materialization of the Consciousness-Force of the Divine. Matter and Spirit are
therefore the same. So are life and mind. So are we.
Creation of
Forms
Form is created by contrast and apparent division of spiritual
substance that is one and indivisible. (MSS)
Plane of Mind and Forms
The plane of Mind as agent of Supermind enables Force to become forms that are
distinct and divided from one another.
THE ORIGINS AND NATURE OF MATTER
Matter
Enabled in the Involution
In the Involution the apprehending functioning of Supermind creates the
plane of (universal) Mind to enable a dividing action on substance which we
experience as divided forms, the disaggragation of Matter. It is this way down
to the atomic level.

Matter
and Spirit
Matter is a form and body of spirit, an extreme aggregation of the
infinite. If matter is the form of the spirit,
then spirit is the soul and reality of that which we recognize as matter.
Matter and spirit are therefore fundamentally not divided as Mind perceives them; they are one. We can say that together their sum and interrelationship is Brahman, which we can know we are stationed in our highest consciousness, culminating in the supramental, where we see these two aspects in their perfect Unity and Oneness.
Knowing this enables us to brings out the infinite potential of matter since we can learn how to bring out its spirit.
From this analysis we can come to see how we have come to view existence from a perspective of division and duality. Through this process of the creation of matter the individual knower regards a form of his own being as other than he, as object. (Thus there is a division between the knower and the known.)
THE ORIGINS AND NATURE OF LIFE (ANIMUS OF MATTER)
Plane of Life, i.e. Energy at Rest
Definition of Life
Life is a form of, a dynamic of, a current of, a universal operation of
the cosmic Conscious Force of the Reality.
Purpose of Life
Life
creates, maintains, destroys, and recreates forms or bodies. Life builds up
forms, energizes the forms through stimulation, and maintains the forces through
disintegration and renewal of substance.
Animus of Life in Forms
Three
Stages through which Life Has Traversed
Life has traversed through three stages of evolution. (1) Life is first
dumb inconscient will rooted in the physical energy; inconscient, and subject to
mechanical forces. This is reflected in the necessity of the separative ego, and
to survive. (2) Then there is a movement to break the bounds of one’s self
toward interaction with others. This reflects the compulsion of Nature to fuse
our individual selves with others. At this second poise of life there is death,
mutual devouring, desire, and the need to expand, conquer, and possess. This is
a movement to the vital proper, away from the physical. (3) The third poise of
life is a movement towards conscious mind in life. In this stage there is the
conscious movement towards commonality, mutuality, harmony, etc. In its higher
aspects it is vitally reflected as the ability to be self giving towards others,
and to feel love. We can say that these are the physical
dimension of Life, the vital dimension of Life, and the mental dimension of Live
which appear in succession, of one another.
How
Life Expresses for the Individual
What then are the ways in which the dimension of Life expresses for the
individual. The status of Life
for the individual range from (1) dumb inconscient
drive (2) to desire, eagerness to possess, and give, (3) to love, possess, be
possessed, to receive and give (4) to satisfaction. These are
also (unbeknownst to us) the stages of the soul's seeking for Delight in
things; of the Divine delight in things, of Ananda.
We also see that there is ascent
among theses statuses of Life, whose ever higher
quality of energy draws nearer to the experience of Delight, mirroring the
Delight of Existence, Consciousness
Force, Delight (Ananda of Sat-Chit-Ananda)
Causes
of the Problems of Life
What causes he problems we have in life? The first problem of life is
that man is aware only of the surface of life, not his inner being and true
Self. The second problem of life is that he is disconnected from the universal,
and therefore from others. The third problem of life is that the body, the
vital, and mind are not in harmony with each other, nor with its self. When man
becomes conscious he becomes more aware of the discords and creates this
harmony.
Death, desire, and incapacity are due to the exclusivity and separateness, to the nature of divided being, and to the ignorance of the individual, rooted in ego and mind. They prevent the right balance of energies, which cause dissolution.
THE NATURE OF MIND
Mind
and Supermind
Mind is a subordinate action and instrumentation of Truth Consciousness,
Supermind, which is the Creator of the worlds.
Purpose of Mind
What purpose then does Mind serve? Mind serves a great purpose, it is a creative
agency for Life. It enables us to organize Life and Matter in a creative manner
to serve our and the needs of Nature.
Mind's Limitations
However, Mind sees in fragments, in contradictions and conflicts.
Mind deals with things
separately; it divides, perceiving the particular. It divides time, force, and
substance. It does not know the whole, the unified.
Mind and Ignorance
Thus man is essentially ignorant through Mind
of the true truth. Mind is the nodus of
Ignorance, because it is the organization of what which divides and distributes.
This Ignorance is also
supported by man’s ego, in seeing things from
its vantage point of only itself, in its exclusive concentration of
consciousness. Furthermore, this ego sense and ignorance is
there because of one's association with the inertia,
inconscience, and unchanging nature of matter represented by the physical
body in man.
Rising above Mind
However, we can rise beyond he limitations of mind by rising to Spiritual Mind
and then to Supermind. At that point we see
existence in its essential unity, instead of in its division and duality that we
now see through Mind.
He explains that there are realms, planes above mind that we are unconscious of; they are "superconscient" to us. Above mind is spiritual mind (Higher, Illumined, Intuitive), and further to Overmind, and Supermind. There is even the E-CF-D above this. These are realms we can evolve towards. There are also realms below mind that we are also unconscious of; they are "subconscient" to us. We need to somehow make these realms more conscious. We do this by bringing the superconscient "above" into the dark subconscient "within," rooted in the dumb inconscience of matter, to effect and change it, which will enable our core nature of darkness and unconsciousness to give way to truth and light.
THE EMERGING PLANES IN THE EVOLUTION
Planes of Evolution Emerge in Reverse Order of
Involution
In the evolution there is the inverse emergence of these planes compared to the
involution. In the involution there are the planes of Being, Supermind, Mind,
Life, and Matter; whereas in the evolution it is the reverse, with matter
appearing first, then animus of life, then mind, and then planes of spiritual
mind to supermind, and being.
Planes Involved in One Another
Each plane that emerges in the evolution contains the seed of the following
planes. So the plane of matter which emerges first contains the seed of the
planes of life and mind. Each planes also has involved in it even higher planes,
including the planes of the spirit. The spirit is involved in all the planes
that emerge. One of the goals of life is for us to enable the spirit to emerge
in matter, life, and mind. That is one of our roles of destiny; to release the
spirit in all things.
Life is
involved
in Matter; Mind is involved in Life; and Supermind in Mind. (Actually Mind is
involved in Matter and Life, and Supermind in all three.)
Planes "Below" and "Above"
The planes are involved in one another because they existed as planes in the
Involution, which are hidden through the process of self-absorption by the
Absolute on Its road to creation of the universe.
Why Planes Emerge from One Another
There is a process of unfolding of one plane from the previous plane. One plane
emerges from the previous because it is already involved there as
potential; and under the right circumstances emerges to the next highest
plane. However, what really compels the emergence of the next plane is the
underlying spirit that is embedded in each plane, pushing that plane's potential
to emerge from its current plane into the next plane. Since spirit is infinitely
creative, what emerges in the next plane is dynamically new and creative;
what could not be conceived.
The Evolutionary Process
-The involved Spirit, the Conscious
Force, is there in Matter, in Life, and Mind. It is the workings of this
inner force that enables these successive planes to emerge; and can enable
further planes to emerge in life up to Supermind.
Here’s how it works: When the Force of concealed conscious being is so
intensified in a plane, it develops a new principle of action, enabling a
whole new plane to emerge out of it. This is the evolutionary process of ascent.
(It should be pointed out that each principle is radically different from the
previous one; it is a whole new creation, a "miracle
of metamorphous.")
-The higher plane emerges from within the lower plane, from a pressure of a
superior plane above, which is dominant. [E.g. vital evolves to mind
because of pressure of plane of Mind in the universe?]
Ascension through Saturation of Organization
When a plane reaches a certain level of saturation of its current level of
organization, it is ready to evolve into the next aspect/plane.
The Ascending Scale of
Substance Among Planes
There
is an ascending scale of substance from matter to spirit. As we move to higher
planes, that plane is less bound to the form; it is
more subtle, flexible, interactive, interchangeable, unified, invisible, and
infinite. The more subtle, the more powerful; the greater permanence in its
being, the greater its potential, plasticity, range in its becoming. Also, the
higher the plane, the greater its consciousness.
How Man Enables Higher
Scale of Substance
Man can play a role in the merging higher gradations of substance -- as subtle
entities, as higher consciousness
-- as he
himself ascends among the planes of his own being,
bringing out corresponding higher
possibilities
in the grades of the substance of existence he interacts with.
He is thus the great instrument of higher forms of substance, of evolution
in the universe itself. When he reaches the
Supermental plane he enables the greatest possibilities for himself
and the universe. For example, for himself he can enable an ultimate subtlety in
the emergence of his own subtle capacities of his body, culminating in a
divinized body, even as becomes a vehicle of the higher
evolution, as higher forms of substance in the universe.
