It is said that the process of creation from a Divine source cannot be explained, and yet that is what we aim to present here.
The purpose of presenting this theory is to help our readers understand the whole process, as well as to suggest that our readers can rise in consciousness to experience this theory as a living reality in their own lives. We can learn to rise to this higher consciousness, to the pinnacles of spirit, as a means for our own growth, as well as the growth and evolution of our communities, society, the world, and the universe itself.
We would like to acknowledge the experiences, realizations, and writings of the sage and visionary Sri Aurobindo in the development of our theory. We would also like to acknowledge the pioneering thought of The Mother's Service Society who have taken the great effort to illuminate and expand on Sri Aurobindo's theories, and apply these insights to various fields of life, including social development, business, education, science, literature, and other fields of life.
Here are several of the main points of the process of creation:
Involution and Evolution
The process by
which the universe emerged from the Omnipresent Reality (called the Absolute of
the West, Brahman in the East) we call the "Involution." The process by
which matter, life, including humanity evolves in the created universe we call
the "Evolution."
The
Omnipresent Reality Now Extended in Creation
As a result of the process of creation, the Reality, the
Absolute, Brahman, God (whatever name you wish to ascribe to it) has become both
the unmanifest and the manifest, the creator and the creation, (and
their integral union), the One and the Many.
Our Role in the Evolution
The spiritual nature of the
Reality is in all forms, in all life, except we do not see it because of the
limitation of our consciousness. The goal is for us to rise in consciousness and
bring out the spirit nature that is embedded in the life around us. In this way,
we participate in the evolution of the cosmos through our higher consciousness
and by discovering and revealing the hidden spirit in matter and life.
The
Purpose of Creation is Delight
What then is
the purpose of creation? In
the involution the Divine Source wished to extend its own Delight into a
universe of forms and objects, including us. The purpose of the evolution
is for the universe, including us to discover our True Self, the Spirit, our
ultimate possibility so that we can experience the Delight
that the Reality intended for
forms in the universe. When we rise to our highest consciousness, we have the
ultimate discovery, self-discovery of our highest nature, and of the
spirit in all aspects of our existence, which gives us the very Delight of being
that the Divine Source intended when It enabled the cosmos.
Universal
Process of Creation
The process of creation from out of a Divine source is the same universal
process that exists in life, which we can follow. It begins with a vision of
what can be, the organization of its in its details, and its manifestation.
We like the Divine can begin the process of creating reality out of nothing;
a thought.
