PART 1: Life Response at the Speed of Thought

Growth Online: Welcome again to the Growth Online interview series.

RP: Glad to be here, as always.

Growth Online: You and your associates believe you have uncovered a hidden power in life that you claim can function a thousand times faster than the Internet. Is this a new scientific discovery that can be proven?

RP: Yes, I believe this phenomenon can be scientifically proven. It certainly can be witnessed and observed by anyone. Also, the benefits can certainly be experienced by anyone. Thousands if not many more have had the experience.

As for whether we can scientifically measure it in terms of energy waves, photons, and all, well I don't see why not. The problem is that science does not have the understanding of phenomena such as these. They have no easy way to trace it since they only study what to them is physically real. And even if they wanted to measure it, they might not have the means to do trace its subtlety.

But I think we're jumping ahead of the story!

Growth Online: Yes. So what is Life Response?

RP: Normally when we interact with life we are aware of the bare minimum of what is actually occurring. For example, often we experience a result and tie it back to some cause. We can easily do this when there is some logic that links the cause to the outcome. If there is no logic between the cause and the effect we don't notice it.

Yet there is a level of causality that is completely missed by our minds. Things happen in life that have hidden causes that are completely missed by the mind's perception; things that if we did see would defy all of our perceptions of time and space. These are the hidden patterns and secrets of life. When one does become aware of these secret hidden patterns of life, they seem utterly fantastic, because they defy all of our normal perceptions of cause and effect, time and space.

For example, almost everyone has had at least one psychic experience. Perhaps we can even call this experience a miracle, in that it defies our normal perceptions of time and space.  Well what we view as a miracle is in fact happening continuously in the course of one's day. We are simply not conscious of their workings. That's because we live on the surface of life and so cannot fathom or experience these phenomenon. Even people who live deeply in the psychological and spiritual realm may miss most of them.

At Growth Online we have been researching these hidden secrets, patterns, and movements of life for decades, and have documented them now for our readers to experience. I think this information is as important a discovery as the Internet, the human genome project, quantum physics, and deep space exploration. However, it will take many years before we begin as a species to recognize this hidden causality that creates outer effects in the world.

One of the most interesting hidden pattern and phenomenon of life that defies our normal perceptions of causality is what we call "Life Response." The other hidden patterns of life which we document at Growth Online are just as intriguing, and in their own way just as amazing. However the Life Response phenomenon is so dramatic, so startling, that it grabs our attention. When we experience it even once, our life can be changed forever.

Growth Online: Can you give us an example?

RP: Ok. Let me start with a rather mundane episode in my life.

As you may know I am an instructor and speaker, and depend on that work, plus my other consulting work, to earn a living. Well a few years ago I had not been contacted for new work for quite a while, and was getting in some desperate straits. I had some time on my hand and decided to take up the powerful personal value of cleanliness and orderliness in my life. My living space is normally quite clean, but I wanted to take the value of cleanliness one step further.  So I looked around for something to clean! I didn't find that much to improve on since I am somewhat of a neat freak. Then I walked into my kitchen, opened the refrigerator, and saw that the bottom area was getting a bit funky!

As I stared at it I realized that part of the refrigerator always seemed to be in that state, so perhaps I was not that much of a neatnick after all. So I decided to clean my refrigerator thoroughly, especially the dirty area. It was obviously something that I was neglecting, or perhaps, more precisely, reluctant to do!

So on my hands and knees I start scrubbing away. Then I got up, took a deep breathe, and put the food back into the area I just cleaned.  Well at the exact moment I finished putting things back into the refrigerator, I heard my answering machine go off. I heard a message from someone at the company that provides me with engagements that I should call them back to set up for a number of new events to teach. For a moment I looked into the distance a bit dazed. Then when I came to, I realized what had just occurred. It was a positive Life Response. In fact this time the response from life was instantaneous! I overcame a reluctance to physically clean an area, and life responded positively in kind; and very rapidly!

Growth Online: So that's why you compare it to the Internet, because of its speed of response!

RP: Yes exactly!

You know Microsoft has a marketing push for their Internet business that says something like "work at the speed of thought." Well that's a catchy phrase. But with the phenomenon of Life Response it is literally true!

So if we learn to understand the workings of this phenomenon, and then take actions in our lives to trigger it, we can literally accomplish anything instantly, or at least very quickly. We say that the Internet speeds up our work perhaps two to ten times. With Life Responses you can accomplish at a hundred times the current functioning of life; or a thousand times; or a million times. I actually really believe it is literally infinite.

Well, if this is so, then this has overwhelming implications for how we perceive life, the way life is currently organized, and what is possible in the world. The implications are truly staggering.

Growth Online: If this phenomenon is really real, how can we practically utilize it on our daily lives?

RP: That's the perfect question!

(pause) First of all we need to understand what actions on our parts trigger a positive life response. Once we know what activities on our part cause it to occur, we would need to consider how to apply it on our own lives. Fortunately, at Growth Online we have identified about two dozen major factors that seem to cause this phenomenon to occur.

In our research we have documented the many incidences in people's lives in which it occurred, and then trace each incident back to something in ourselves that triggered it. (I'll get to these in a minute.) In addition, to truly understand what makes this all work outside ourselves, that is the physics and metaphysics of life response, we also need to understand this phenomenon in a broader context; in terms of the universe itself; that is, why the universe was created, how it was created, what it consists of, how energy moves in the cosmos, and so forth. Don't worry I will spare you that for now!

Growth Online: In the refrigerator incident you triggered a positive response from life by taking an action, by overcoming a reluctance. Is that the main way the phenomenon occurs?

RP: Well, let's see. Let's examine again what actually happened. I became conscious of something that needed to be done; clean the refrigerator. That was one driving force. Then I also became conscious of my own reluctance. That's something substantial. What was really substantial was my will to overcome my bad attitude; my will to clean the thing even though my emotions were not into it, were reluctant. So in one sense not only was I sensing a bad attitude, but I was acting on overcoming the bad attitude by cleaning the refrigerator. The combination of the two, sensing a bad attitude or habit, and physically acting on it, creates the conditions for a positive Life Response to occur.

In general then I would say that overcoming a negative or limiting attitude, such as a reluctance in this case, is one factor that can bring about a positive response from life.

So here's one conclusion we can make about the ways we can invoke positive life responses: If you can catch yourself in a situation when you are feeling a negative attitude -- about yourself, things, others, life -- reverse your feelings at that moment, and if appropriate take the corresponding right action. You are quite likely to precipitate a positive life response to your effort. Often the response comes very quickly!.

Growth Online: Do you have any other examples of what we can do to trigger these life responses?

RP: Yes, plenty!

Here's one. A man we know lost a lot of borrowed money in speculation in the stock market.  After a time all his shares became worthless. In fact, he paid interest on the borrowed money by borrowing more money.  One day he didn't have any more money to pay the interest. Slowly, he realized his folly.  He had already decided to no longer speculate. Now he also decided not to borrow any more money to pay the interest. So he took this firm decision, and became very calm within himself.  Though he didn't  know what to do next, still he stuck to his decision.

After a day or two he read in a newspaper that a certain company in which he was holding some shares and those shares were trading at $4 for the past two years was being taken over by another company.  The share price started its upward journey and within a few days it hit $20.  He sold them and met his obligation.

So again the person overcomes something negative or limiting; in this case a bad habit. He recognized the bad habit, and made a firm decision to stop it. In this case there was a rapid life response as well, though not quite as fast as the refrigerator example. Some actions, particularly ones where a physical action is involved instigate instantaneous life responses, while some positive life responses occur a little slower. But who could complain about the speed in this situation when you get such results!

So overcoming a bad attitude or habit or opinion or belief can trigger a response from life. Whether it is followed by a firm decision or an action or other facets determine the speed of the response. (Often the response can come before even the taking of the action! One merely thinks or feels the better attitude, habit, opinion, and the result comes!)

In any case, the response itself is almost always dramatic, and to those who are aware of the phenomenon happening to them it can be startling to the individual experiencing it, even life changing. I believe the man who had this experience was aware of this inner-outer correlation, and the positive response to life that resulted from his firm decision to overcome a limiting habit. I am sure though that he was still startled, as we all are, by the result. When our usual beliefs of cause and effect are overcome; when time and space are overcome; the mind sits there stunned and silenced. This is undoubtedly a form of spiritual experience.

There are endless examples of these subtle forms of life response. Here's another: A man decided to balance his check book, something he was also reluctant to do (a lot of people are reluctant in my stories!) The result? A $5000 check appears in the mail from out of nowhere.

So here's another case of overcoming a limiting attitude; a reluctance again. However, this example also brings out another trigger for positive life response, the power of attention. Whenever you give attention to something that was not accorded its proper attention before, you can invoke a positive life response. For example, one business owner was having very low sales in his company. He was told by a wise man to go down into the basement and see if there was anything that was not getting attention. He noticed that there were some old stocks lying there, not being given attention for months, not even being offered for sale by the salesperson for the company. So the owner decided to make an effort to sell these old stocks. Within a few days not only were these small stocks sold, but a man came around offering to purchase stocks equivalent to six months of his sales!

He gave attention to something small which was not getting attention, and life responded overwhelmingly.

So life not only responds positively to a changed attitude or habit and an action taken to see it through, but life also responds positively when something is given greater attention. Give more attention to a person or thing that you have put off or ignored, and watch what happens. They respond with more energy, more results, more abundance, more success. And it can happen in a moment; in an instant. Time and space are abridged. That is the power of the phenomenon of Life Response.

Growth Online: So this can lead to a lot of benefits; more money, more sales, more work, more abundance.

RP: That's it, more of any or all of those things. Which in turn leads to greater happiness and joy in life. Who wouldn't be energized by such startling circumstances, overjoyed by one's turn of luck and fortune!

In addition, the experience of this phenomenon puts us directly in the realm of the psychic or the spiritual; where one feels the deeper mysteries of life, where one can begin to sense greater currents in our existence. It really is a spiritual experience.

You are after all giving up a limitation on your part, breaking down a barrier; which in turn opens up the floodgates to the higher energies that abound in the universe. You are giving up the mental, vital/emotional, physical bonds or knots that we each have, which releases you into the broader stream of universal consciousness, where all is infinite, where all is possible, where space and time are different, where our normal perceptions of cause and effect break down. This is the spiritual plane.

Growth Online: You've mentioned a bunch already, but are there any other trigger points for this phenomenon?

RP: (pause) Take the refrigerator story. In one sense it's just a story about a person who wants to increase his level of cleanliness. But cleanliness has a particularly powerful ability to attract positive responses from life. In fact, this one is truly remarkable, in that it almost never fails to bring a very rapid positive result!

So we tell people to consider anything around them; a room, a desk, an office, a warehouse, a pile of papers, that can be cleaned one level higher than it currently is; and to make the effort to clean and organize it, and see if life responds. This works for the biggest slob or the neatest person. Whatever your own threshold for cleanliness is, take it one step further, and see what life has in store for you!

Often for our business clients the very first thing we tell them is clean things up! We told one big carpet company on the first day of management consulting work to clean up their warehouse. They were somewhat baffled by this suggestion, yet agreed, and immediately took it up. Within a day there was a dramatic increase in sales, and even the atmosphere of the company changed! That is the power of cleanliness. It attracts instantaneous or rapid positive responses from life.

So cleanliness has this uncanny ability to invoke rapid positive responses from life! That would be a great starting point and challenge for our readers. Likewise, if they can overcome a negative attitude of any sort, such as bad will toward others or overcoming a reluctance that would be even better; but that requires more a psychological change on our part. However, that can have an even greater long term benefit than cleanliness.

For example, one woman we know decided she was not going to have a bad attitude toward her co-workers. After that decision her life completely changed. Within a few days she got a new job. This from a person who hadn't had a full time job in ten years! But she didn't stop there. She continued the change in attitude toward others, and quickly thereafter got a raise. She continued to work further on this same limiting attitude shortly thereafter, and she was in turn called up by top management to help on an important project. This for a person who never speaks with top management. Even the people around her, her family, her friends started running into good fortune. Many of those close to her saw a tremendous improvement in their lives. Talk about a positive life response!

So when we evoke a life response like this, we can keep going to the well, and evoke the fantastic benefits that result. It's not a one time thing!

So cleanliness, overcoming a negative or limiting attitude, overcoming a reluctance, making a decision when one was hesitant before, taking an action based on the decision, giving things attention that were previously neglected; all of these evoke rapid positive responses from life.

Fortunately, we've documented a number of stories at Growth Online that reflect this phenomenon. We invite our readers to read these stories so that they can see if it relates to something in their own lives; some incident that moves them, or reminds them of something inside themselves. Perhaps it will make that individual remember a similar incident in their lives, and make them understand that they have in fact been part of a positive life response, but were not conscious enough at the time to make the connection. Then, of course, we can begin to make changes in our own life that can trigger future positive life responses.

So life can really respond at the speed of thought. Triggered by a change in emotion, attitude, attitude, habit, decision, action. Can you imagine living our lives this way on a continuous basis? What a thought! Positive Life responses everywhere! Instant, higher levels of accomplishment and success! Life as a continuous miracle and joy!

Growth Online: You have given us some food for thought!

RP: My pleasure!

PART 2: So What Really Causes Life Responses to Occur?

Growth Online: Welcome back again, Roy.

RP: Thank you.

Growth Online: OK, we have heard these amazing stories and incidences of life response, which we can only presume to be true. But what is at the heart of the matter, what really causes life responses to occur?

RP: You know it's interesting you should ask that. A little while back a friend of mine who is a devoted Christian experienced a life response of his own, and asked me the same question as you just did. What causes these life responses? I gave him a preliminary answer at the time, but he remained unconvinced, or at least unsatisfied with my answer. I noticed that, and took it as a weakness of understanding on my part.

So we went back to the drawing board, and decided to take up the "why" aspect and "cause" aspect of life response. We had already developed some preliminary answers, yet we could not present a comprehensive answer to the question. In fact our research on the topic continues to this day, and will continue into the near future, until we can present the comprehensive answer to the question. As a measure of success of our understanding of the subject, we would like to be able to have 90% of the people who  take up an effort at trying to invoke positive life responses succeed in their attempt.

In the meantime we have some preliminary results.

Growth Online: Which are?

RP: Well let's start with this observation: We can say that at any moment in time there are positive and negative forces in the atmosphere. In particular, there is a certain balance (or equilibrium) of forces, positive and negative, which creates a smoothness and flow to that moment. As we are now having this discussion, there is this balance of forces. As a result, there is no obvious life response occurring. When there is this smooth flowing of forces, we don't witness or experience any obvious life responses.

However, when the balance, the equilibrium, the smooth, is altered, it starts a ripple effect, which can result in a response from life that we experience. Depending on whether the person increases the positive or negative forces, he gets a corresponding positive or negative life response. Otherwise, if one does not disturb the equilibrium of forces, there is no obvious life response.

Then there is the issue of why we get a specific related type of response. Well, our conclusion is that when this smooth is disturbed in a situation, it creates corresponding movements in connected places. This result from a connected place returns to the originator as a life response reaction.

Or perhaps we shouldn't say it is a cause and effect reaction, but rather a kind of simultaneity from related sources and places occurs when the smooth of the moment is disturbed.

Growth Online: Are we aware then that we are creating these reactions or are they happening on their own??

RP: Well there are really three type of situations that we can identify. First, Those movements can be random movements as caused by the disturbances in the equilibrium, conscious movements on our part with a purpose, or unconscious movements on our part as a result of changes in equilibrium.

Growth Online: That is very interesting. Still what are these forces really? What do they consist of?

RP: (pause) That is one of the tough questions. Clearly there are forces, vibrations, energies that exist in the universe. Some we directly experience in our moment-to-moment existence. These are what we see and experience, or are cognizant of in our interaction with life around us. Others we can fathom in our minds, even if we cannot experience them, such as the magnetic and centrifugal and centripetal forces of the atom, the forces of the photon, or dark matter; even the forces that emanate from one another through our interactions of emotion and feelings. Others still point to what we can call the "undiscovered country." These are the subtle and causal psychic forces that range from our higher mental capacities, such as our higher intuition and psychic abilities all the way to the spiritual forces that result in higher Knowledge, Light, Oneness, Harmony, Peace, and so forth

(pause) Let's look at it another way. Let's look at these forces from the perspective of the Creation of the cosmos; let's look at it in metaphysical terms.

As you may recall in our Theory of Creation we discuss how out of the One, the Absolute came the universe we experience. Here we say that before the universe begins, the Absolute has developed a Will or Force to create a manifested universe. In this pre-cosmos process this Will or Force develops into a type of energy at rest. Not an energy that any scientist could measure mind you. When this energy at rest began to ripple, to undulate, due to the conscious will of the Divine, the creation we know began. There is a Big Bang, followed by a kind of a universe of plasma, which then coagulates into forms.

(Incidentally this will for creation by the Creator which creates the ripple in the Creation might parallel the ripple of forces that come into play when we have a change of consciousness or take an action that ends in a life response.)

To get back to our creation. We also notice that this original force and energy that emanated from the Absolute, the Divine, God, the Creator, give it any name you wish, is filled with the infinite spiritual aspects that the Divine had in the first place. As our universe unfolded as forces, energies, those spiritual aspects were also in the energies and forms of that which was created, our universe.

As life evolved in the universe, the infinite capacities of the divine, still operated in the created cosmos, the universe we live in. They exist in all the forces in the universe -- the gross, as well as the non-subtle, psychic forces of the subtle and the causal. The subtle and causal ones are for the most part incomprehensible, because they defy the main instrument of human consciousness for comprehending the universe, the mind. These subtle and causal  forces defy our mental abilities, which are tied to the divisions of time and space, cause and effect, subjectivity and objectivity.

So we have a universe of gross, subtle, and causal energies and forces, most of which we do not understand, and which take on the aspects and powers of the Divine Creator, with its Infinite capacities. Life response is but one phenomenon in the universe mirroring the infinite myriad of possibilities that emanated from the original Divine spirit. We are just beginning to understand this one phenomenon of the cosmos; just one ray of the endless, infinite possibilities that are hidden in the cosmos that reflect the original Divine spirit that it is perhaps our destiny to unlock.

Growth Online: Aside from all of the possibilities of the workings of the Divine energies and forces, doesn't there seem to be a very specific working here. It seems as if there is a real system going on here with life response. What is the plumbing of the system? Not what are the energies and software, but what carries the pulses, the software and specific commands of life response?

RP: Excellent question!

(pause) One specific phenomenon that points to this plumbing or infrastructure of life response is what has been perceived as some sort of invisible web of forces that permeates the universe. The woman known as The Mother, who was the partner of the Indian sage and seer, Sri Aurobindo, experienced this phenomenon.

She referred to this fascinating phenomenon as a kind of great interconnected cosmic web. It goes something like this: When someone with a developed inner sense engages in some activity he will notice a similar activity, situation, circumstance, topic, etc. Suddenly come into his field of awareness (through newspaper reports, TV, news from friends). For example, a man begins to study an obscure language such as Sanskrit, and that evening notices on the evening news hears a report that a new scientific discovery was made by an individual who was casually reading a Sanskrit scripture.

The Mother suggested that there are definite, though loosely defined and connected threads on this web. If one were able to take an action on one of those threads, then it would impact or at least be simultaneous with other activities, people, events on that same thread of the web.

Well this sounds a lot like the forces at work in life response. This interconnected cosmic web is in essence the superhighway that carries the forces that unfold when a life response occurs.

So we have these forces at work in the universe -- gross, subtle, and causal, which reflect the original forces, energies, and consciousness of the Creator, the Divine. We have experienced and begun to uncover one phenomenon of the universe, Life Response, which appears to us as magical only because it defies the instruments of our mind. Furthermore, this phenomenon occurs through forces and energies that seems to occur in a systematic way along a related thread of the plumping or superhighway which makes up the Great Interconnected Web.

Growth Online: This is fascinating, though it does seem pretty far out there. Is there a way we can understand life response in a little simpler terms; say in terms of cause and effect; you know, I do this, so this happens; I do that and that happens?

RP: Yes, we must be able to explain it in much simpler terms. Simpler yet still include the deepest context. Let me make an attempt. Let's talk about cause and effect, things the mind can comprehend. The mind is much happier in that realm!

To begin let's return to the planes of existence at which life operates which we spoke of before, the gross, the subtle, and the causal. We can examine how life responses occur on each of these planes of existence. That will give us the clues to the mechanics of life response. That is, when a life response occurs, we can relate it to one of these planes of existence. Let me explain.

(pause) It appears that life exists and responds from a number of planes of existence. There is the plane of existence that humans are normally conscious of, from which life's workings are understood. This is the gross or material plane. There are also others planes that humans are not conscious of, where the workings of life are not understood or are undetected. These are the subtle and causal planes.

To illustrate how life responds from the obvious gross/material plane that we normally are aware of, and the not so obvious, hidden subtle and causal planes, let's take an example.

Two people share a home office. One is upstairs and the other is downstairs. They each have a walkie-talkie, two way radio to communicate during the day. When A needs to give something to B, A picks up his radio and buzzes B. B is downstairs in the office. If B goes up to A because A radioed B, then it is a material response. This is what we normally observe, and we say that it is a life response on the gross or material plane.

If A, however, just thinks of calling B and presses the radio button, but B is already coming up and enters just as A presses the button, this is a life response in the subtle plane. A invokes a life response from B. To take it a step further, if A just thinks of calling B and before taking any action at all, and B comes up, it is a deeper subtle response.

Further still, if A want to pass on to B the complete knowledge (of what A wants from B in the first place), and suddenly this knowledge comes into the consciousness of B, without B  ever wanting to come up, this is a causal response. One is able to transfer the complete knowledge from person to person without any interaction!

The material/gross plane is what we live in; though even there we are not fully conscious. It is at this plane that we perceive cause and effect working in a fashion that our mind and senses perceives as logical. On the other hand, we are almost completely unaware of that takes place at the subtle and causal plane.

At the subtle plane there are forces, vibrations, energies that defy our normal perceptions of cause and effect, space and time, subjectivity and objectivity. Most humans are virtually unaware of the functioning in life at this plane.

At the causal plane we enter the spiritual domain, where infinite possibilities can occur; where the inner and outer become one; where our inner intention, even without an action taken, leads to an outer result; where knowledge and will are fused; where we are connected to the Divine, the Force, where infinite possibilities occur. At this level we can not only attain a positive life response of great physical, vital, or mental benefit (such as great money, accomplishment, or happiness), but we attain spiritual benefits, such as great calm, peace, and inner connection to the spiritual realm.

Growth Online: You have given us yet more food for thought!

RP: I am so happy to be of help in this area.

PART 3: Life Response and the Hidden Patterns of Life

Growth Online: Welcome again Roy!

RP: OK, let's think about this for a moment. You have previously identified the source of all forces in the universe, originating from the Creation. These forces unfold in the creation, in the universe we know, at the gross plane we can readily identify, as well as at the subtle, unseen, occult planes.

In addition, you spoke of an interconnected web, the superhighway for these forces.

So now we begin to understood the nature of these forces from the perspective of the Creation and the universe we know. This is good. But still we have the unanswered question of what causes these to happen from our side. What is it that we do that sets these forces in motion; that at any moment begins the undulation, the movement from out of the equilibrium, the smooth, that sets in motion the process that ends in a life response?

The ultimate triggers of the life response are our attitudes, opinions, preferences, thoughts, prejudices, habits, and constructions of the outer and inner mind. These determine our consciousness and actions at any point in time, the result of which can trigger life responses.

Growth Online: So that's how we trigger life responses?

RP: Well those are the instruments of human consciousness that trigger life responses. When there is a change in the equilibrium, the smooth at any moment in time as it relates to our consciousness -- an opinion, a thought, a motive, an attitude, an action -- then the gross and occult energies and forces begin to move, and life response has the potential to occur.

But the life response seems to occur when there is something significant happening in our consciousness; a significant change in an attitude, or perception or motive, or habit, or an action taken. Then the life response is able to coagulate into something tangible that we notice.

Of course, if we want to invoke positive life responses, there needs to be a change in human consciousness (our attitudes, habits, and so forth) or actions for the better.

You know, one of the first things we say to people about trying to invoke positive life responses is this. If when participating in any event, in any moment in time, such as this interview, you try to raise the combined strength of the positive forces or keeps the negative forces down, you will be constantly evoking positive life responses.

That's a very general statement, but it is a starting point. If an individual just thinks about and acts on the raising the positive in any situation, he can make that a little discipline of triggering positive responses from life.

For example, here's an example of something that happened to me.

A few months ago I went out with my friend, and we were doing photography. We went into San Francisco. It was a very bright day (as is often the case in this area). The digital camera has problems with this type of light sometimes, depending on one's position, the time of day, etc. -- i.e. the brightness. With the digital camera one can see immediately all the pictures one has taken, and go from picture to picture on the cameras since it is stored digitally. Naturally we found some of our SF pictures too bright. I was slightly disappointed. So then my friend suggested that we get a polarizing lens for the camera to solve this problem. (She purchased the camera a few months back.) Recovering from my disappointment I heard her words, but did not react at first. I was hesitant, or did not fully care about her statement. Then I remembered to be more positive in a given situation, or in this case to be more willing to listen to others suggestions. She suggested we could get the lens nearby. I then agreed, and decided to take immediate action.

So we immediately drove off to the rather fantastic Sony Metreon complex downtown, about a mile away, and purchased the lens. Then she took the first picture with this lens, and then tried the same picture without the lens. An incredible improvement! From that point on virtually all of the pictures we took on this bright day was clear, colorful and not overly bright. I was amazed by the results. It also made me realize that our future pictures can in many instances be so much better (e.g. for capturing flower on a bright sun day). I also realized that a few blanched out pictures we ad taken over the previous months could have been improved had we had the lens then. After that most of our pictures were really excellent.

So a discipline of just keeping a watch out for and being more positive in any situation can be a great starting point for us to evoke positive responses from life. Of course, one needs to be a little vigilant, self aware of the situation, and aware of one's own thoughts and feelings at the moment, but it is very doable. Our readers can start immediately with this approach as an experiment. The goal is immediate and substantial positive responses in terms of accomplishment, success, energy, and joy of experience.

Growth Online: This is a good start! Is there anything more specific, you can recommend.

RP: Yes, definitely. And this is where we have done the most field work, where our efforts and conclusions have been most substantial, though still limited in the overall scope of what we can lean about life response.

Let me tell you what we have taken as our strategy. We have decided to study hundreds of people's experiences of life response, and see if we can truly understand them in light of our theory, as well as examine for any other tendencies. It's like we are in the lab doing experiments and trying to match things to our hypothesis, and also categorize any new trends or tendencies we uncover in our quote "experiments." (quote gesture). It requires us to gather the life responses as one would gather samples, and then do painstaking analysis.

So the first thing we do is describe in detail the life response that occurred; the event that triggered it, the life response that followed, and our analysis of what really happened in the event that triggered it. Then we ask ourselves; did it seem to happen at the obvious gross/material level, or the occult subtle level, or the spiritual causal level? That's actually relatively simple for us to identify because we have clearly distinguished between gross, subtle, and causal responses. On the other hand, this level only tells us the mechanism, the infrastructure if you will of the life response; not what actually caused the trigger on the part of the individual.

So in our attempt to categorize our "sample data" we return to the idea of human consciousness and action; that is, our attitudes, opinions, beliefs, values, motives, and actions in the situation. Well that approach is very helpful, but it doesn't quite help us focus on the real human causes of life response. It is a bit too broad a categorization. So the question us: how can we ever nail down the specific types of changes in human consciousness that triggers these events, since it seems that potentially any change of consciousness for the better can invoke the positive life response? Fortunately, our field work has pointed to some startlingly specific changes in human consciousness and action for the better that invokes life response.

Many years before we took up this recent concentrated research on life response, we noticed a number of astonishing hidden patterns of life that most of us are completely unaware of. We noticed that within a number of these hidden patterns of life, positive life responses was the end result. For example, we noticed that often when an individual who cleaned or organized his environment one level higher than he had done before, a great benefit seemed to follow the effort, such as a new order, or money suddenly coming out of nowhere. I believe we discussed this in the first part of this interview. This phenomenon of higher cleanliness and orderliness was but one of twenty or thirty secret or hidden patterns of life, many of which when analyzed indicated that it was followed by a positive response from life.

So we have postulated that if one can learn these secret patterns, and if one can experience it's workings in one's life, then one could utilize this secret knowledge in one's life to endlessly create positive life responses; to unleash endless success, accomplishment, and joy in one's life.

After examining hundreds of life responses of individuals, we have seen that virtually every one follows at least one of these hidden rules of life. We have published these rules of life, with corresponding positive life responses at the Growth Online site. At Growth Online we call these the "common levers" that invoke positive life responses.

There are many of these secret levers. Let me mention one or two that have been on my mind lately. It is clear that making a great effort in one's work or elsewhere seems to invoke almost immediate and substantial positive life responses. For example, I have noticed that just after I been involved in a large project, with all of its requirements for my attention, energy, skill, and focus, substantial and instantaneous positive life responses start occurring. It is really remarkable. Money that was delayed for months suddenly appears; work opportunities start coming in; and so forth. It's rather astonishing. The mind sits there completely boggled by the result.

But it fits in perfectly with our hidden pattern of life that states that when one makes a great, exhaustive effort, life seems to take over, fulfills our effort, and goes much further still; which is what we experience as the positive life responses. Things start arriving on related threads of the great web that on the surface seem to have nothing to do with the effort we took. Money comes from completely unrelated people to the project we just exhausted ourselves on. Work comes from sources related or completely unrelated to the job we just worked on. Positive circumstances start to pour in from the most unexpected sources?

And this is but just one of these two dozen or so hidden patterns of life that if understood and applied in our lives can help us trigger positive responses. Whether we resort to higher cleanliness and organization, make exhaustive efforts in our projects, give up our bad attitudes in a situation, try to make a situation more positive, when we accept the reality of the circumstances in a situation and instead of fighting it, go with it, we often see the result of substantial and often immediate positive life responses.

I've just mentioned around half a dozen out of two dozen key levers; so I'm just scratching the surface here. [To see a list of these common levers along with examples and further detailed information, click here.]

So I am suggesting that in order to truly understand the positive changes in our consciousness and actions at any moment in time that can trigger positive life response, one must become knowledgeable of the workings of these hidden patterns and levers of life. In fact, one of the reasons we developed Growth Online was to make these remarkable, hidden patterns of life understandable and usable by the average person.

We encourage those of you who want to truly create infinite accomplishment and happiness in life through invoking positive life responses to study and understand these hidden patterns of life. These patterns of life are profound, and if I might add, quite enjoyable and fun to understand and experience, because their workings are so utterly fantastic and different to our normal way of experiencing life. It is also very energizing because you gain a secret knowledge of life that enables you to become the master of life. I think these patterns are one of the great things we reveal at the site. I'm not sure it's ever been presented this way before.

Growth Online: But what about the individual who doesn't want to learn all of these items and take them up as a study to invoke life response. Maybe that's too formidable. Any other suggestions?

RP: Yes, there is an alternate approach for those who do not have the will to take up such an effort. The other way is to simply review this trigger list, and then pick out one or two items on the list that reflect something lacking in yourself, and then take up the advice on how to improve yourself in that area. By making that effort for improvement in that area you will surely invoke positive life responses. For example, let's say one of the items on the list that you have problems with in your own life is attitudes. Say you read up on the related topic of how to improve your attitude toward others, and then start applying it in your life. The result will not only be a growth on your part, but positive things will start happening to you as a result of taking up the effort. Positive things will start happening from all directions!

So you can learn the hidden patterns of life and integrate that knowledge into your life to invoke life response, or you can just pick out a few items that you may be lacking in that when taken up will help you grow as an individual, which will in turn trigger positive life responses.

Growth Online: Sounds like a plan!

One other thing. Is it true that you suggest that there is something even beyond these hidden patterns of life, that there is something that can trigger the ultimate positive responses from life?

RP: Yes, that is the ultimate "Great Secret" of the Growth Online site. 90% of our readers need not go that far, but for the "adventurers in consciousness," one can learn to utilize the spiritual plane, the Force, to invoke what I earlier referred to as causal life responses.

Life's forces, powers, energies are organized at the gross and occult levels to bring about positive life responses. As we mentioned before, the gross is what we normally consciously experience, though the subtle, which is normally beyond our cognition, is the level of life response that we have most been focused on and amazed by.

(pause) Let me go to something else for a minute; to something fundamental about the nature of the human being. At Growth Online we have discussed that a human being exists in three planes -- at a physical level (our physical bodies), at the vital/emotional level (our feelings, sensations, likes and dislikes), and at the mental level (our knowledge, thoughts and perceptions). Whatever the carrier and result of a life response, we experience it at one or more of these three planes. We experience more money or more work at the physical/vital level; gain a new knowledge because some one has called us on the phone with new information; a life response at the mental level; or suddenly our ailment goes away; a life response at the physical level. [For more on these three planes of a human being, click here.]

When we have gross or even subtle life responses, the response is at one or more of these three planes of our human makeup.

However, at the causal level, we begin to tap into something beyond the gross or even the occult subtle workings of life. We tap into the spiritual plane. When life responds with spiritual results we call that a causal life response. At this level we experience even greater benefits than at the gross and causal level; benefits that transcend the physical, vital, and mental benefits. These are spiritual benefits.

For example, we have discovered that when we open ourselves to the spiritual domain, to the spiritual force in a situation (we call that "consecrating an event" before we undertake it), then we can not only attract a positive life response of great physical, vital, or mental benefit (such as great money, accomplishment, or happiness), but we can also attract spiritual benefits, such as a deep peace or calm, or an inner bliss and inner connection to the spiritual realm. Other benefits include -- light (profound understanding), deep knowledge, health and well-being, energy, power, unity, harmony, and even (spiritual) bliss.  When we open ourselves before any act, i.e. when we consecrate it, we open ourselves to the infinite possibilities of the causal plane.

Let me give you a few examples.

-A man was trying to figure out a complex computer programming problem. He stopped racking his brain, opened to the higher power, and forgot about his problem. A minute later not only did solution to his problem appear to him, but the solution indicated a resolution to a number of other related problems. (The added causal benefit is Light, expressed as deep and sweeping knowledge.)

-An instructor's class was going very poorly in the morning. He consecrated the afternoon session; and every conceivable thing went right in the afternoon session; plus there was a calming peace that could be felt throughout the remainder of the day. (The added causal benefit is harmony and a spiritual deep peace.)

-A woman had an x-ray done indicating a possible growth in her chest. She consecrated the return visit to the doctor. The doctor as completely baffled when this time the same x-ray (not a new one!) revealed a completely normal condition. (The causal benefit is an exceptional physical result in the form of health and well-being, but a spiritual result in the form of a peace that descends.)

A Science of Life
We are still doing a great deal of research in the area of life response. We have made a start by tying life response to these twenty or so hidden patterns of life. If mastered this knowledge can become a science of life for an individual. By learning these truths he or she can invoke positive life responses on a regular basis, resulting in infinite accomplishment, success, energy, creativity, happiness, and joy. If he utilizes the spiritual power, the Force, then one can gain the spiritual benefits as well. These are perhaps for the pioneers seeking a new life on earth.

We want to keep our readers informed of our further discoveries on life response. In the meantime our viewers can certainly make daily experiments to correlate positive occurrences in their lives with something inside them, some change in one's consciousness, or a specific action taken that created the result.

Over time one can learn to be the master of the outer world, by changing the inner. By learning the hidden laws of life, the levers of positive life response, one can acquire a knowledge, and then have the reference points to change our consciousness and actions so that we make use of these hidden powers at work more and more in one's life. Each time you experience the positive life response and correlate it to a movement of consciousness on your part, to one of these hidden patterns of life, it will be an occasion for great joy and happiness. That has been my constant experience!

As one learns to correlate it to one's own inner and outer actions, one gains an ever growing, profound knowledge of the workings of life. It also puts you on the road to self-discovery; of personal growth, development, and evolution. We begin to live a new life; a fantastic adventure in consciousness and joy.

Growth Online: Thanks for your efforts in this fascinating area. We wish you and your associates the best in your further research into this extraordinary phenomenon of life response.

RP: Thank you for your encouraging words. We have a great work before us, though I think we have enough information for our readers so that they can begin to make life respond in endlessly positive ways!

Thanks for having me!
