Keys to Business Success and Attracting Good Fortune
Business success is due to energy, vision, will, determination, skill, knowledge, organization, strength, attitude, and execution. Overcoming a lack of any of these are vast opportunities for vast business success. The same with raising any quality that is already strong. Life will respond will rapid good fortune.

Perceiving the Marvel in Silicon Valley

To perceive the Marvel of existence is to see that the negative serves as much a role in progress as the positive. In fact, without it, there can be no progress, evolution, transformation at all. The Marvel then is to see the utility everything, of each thing in its place -- positive and negative, good and evil, etc. -- in the upward sweep of life. Metaphysically, we can say that the omnipresent Reality (Brahman, the Absolute) -- the highest conception of existence afforded to Man -- includes and embraces all and everything; all sides, all things, all possibilities. To have that Vision of existence gives us inner peace, and provides an inner stability and certainty that everything that is happening in our lives is for the Good.

Gradually, we can move from our normal limited, dualistic, pain-riddled perception of life to this infinitely higher perception of the Marvel. A case in point can be seen amongst the entrepreneurs of Silicon Valley. There the notion of 'failure' has a remarkably different connotation than exists elsewhere. In this progressive region of Northern California, failure connotes experience; a badge of wisdom, qualifying one for future success. It is almost the reverse of our normal view of life, where only achievement is valued, and failure depresses and discourages. The technology pioneers of Silicon Valley perceive the value of the shadow of the good; seeing the problematic as a steppingstone to the future. It is to glimpse the Marvel from the perspective of accomplishment; to look at all and everything in life from the Bright Side.

Qualities of Success Business Leaders
The most successful business leaders are consistently those who are well developed at each of the physical, vital/emotion, psychological, and mental levels.

Personal Growth of Highest Management
Often the greatest limitations to a company's growth is the limited capacities and character of its owners, and top officials. If they grow the possibilities for the company are endless.
Each individual has a unique set of habits, opinions, attitudes, values, level of organization, skills, knowledge, strength, and energy that together make up his or her character. It is often something lacking in the character of the leader that is the chief obstacle in the operations of a company. This is naturally more true of a small business where the leader is the company in one sense. Even in a larger company the original character weakness of the original leaders can carry forward over decades in the company's underlying culture.

Perhaps the greatest thing a leader can do is identify his or her weakness, and then make a concerted effort to overcome it. If, for example, a leader is weak, he needs to find out why and become stronger. If he is bullish and insensitive he may need to give up the reigns or have more compassion. If he is disorganized he must become organized. If he is lacking in leadership skills he must acquire these. Whatever character flaw one possesses must be overcome, for one's own sake and for the sake of the company and its staff.

Success and Difficulties in Business
Outer success (in business or elsewhere) is a result of inner development at that level. Outer difficulty is a result insufficient capacity at a psychological level. If the inner changes the outer will instantly respond in kind.

Life Responds to Adoption of Personal Business Success Keys
If you identify any key to personal business success that you are lacking in and make a concerted effort to overcome it, life will respond in overwhelming fashion with good fortune to that effort.

Inner-Outer Correspondence
The outer world around is a reflection of our consciousness within. If we want the outer to change, alter the inner. The outer will instantly respond in kind.

Spirit-Based Individual Can Invigorate/Deflate the Market; (i.e. the Individual Can Move the Universal)

Those who invoke the Spirit enter the market and the market booms. After some time they lose interest and the market slumps. They in their modesty do not see that their own attitude is the cause and the market the effect. They exclaim, "The market is in a slump. There is nothing I can do."

It is not the single person who enters the market who can egoistically claim the credit of the boom, but it is the Force of the Spirit for which he was an instrument. Unless they see things in the proper perspective, there is no solution for them. In the meantime, they can philosophize. (MSS)

Intuition

Process of Intuition of Next Great Thing by Pioneer in the Organization
The founder of the company has the pioneer vision and intuition of something revealing itself as a new possibility in the society. Even if you are not the founder, you can act in this way as if you were the founder.

Then how does this intuition come about? This process of having the right intuition of what is the next great thing comes to you when you have a wider view, wider than your industry. If you are at the level of the factory, then you must see things from the level of the industry, if at the industry perceive at level of the opportunities in the economy, and from it to the nation as a whole. This will ensure intuition of the new possibilities appearing to you as a vision or revelation.

In essence what is occurring is that you are seeing things from a wider perspective, not from the limited part you now know but from the wider whole. Intuition in essence arises by looking at the part from the view of the whole. (Paraphrase of MSS)

Moving from Data's Part to Intuition's Whole
Mere acquisition of data (e.g. in a company strategizing) cancels intuition. I.e. the data driven approach, known as the science of management, insists on the part, and then subdivides the part. We want to move from the part to the whole. When we develop the intuitive sense we gain such perspectives (Paraphrase of MSS)

The Decisive Competitive Advantage of Intuition

They say that Knowledge is Power. In America, there is currently fervent discussion and hand wringing over how to retain its economic edge in the face of global competition, especially from China and India. A national panel has been established with a litany of solutions to this challenge -- ranging from improving K1-12 education, favorable tax policy, jump-starting the number of engineers and math wizards the country produces, more research in technology and science, and so forth. The idea is that by having greater technological knowledge, America will develop greater economic power that is competitive with, actually exceed the rest of the world.

All of these -- there are 20 major recommendations -- are fine solutions for establishing a competitive edge. But it is not merely an edge that we seek -- that any nation should seek -- but a decisive advantage. From an efficiency perspective that would entail creating the greatest benefit with the least effort in the shortest period of time. From a spiritual perspective it is to overcome space, time, and possibility. I.e. attract from out of nowhere a vast array of deep knowledge and positive circumstance to the here and now.

Such mind-numbing efficiency would enable an organization to produce the technologies and the products of the future in the present. One could e.g. discover the answer to a technological problem in a single day and develop a product within a month instead of the usual months, years, and decades of effort. Plus it will turn out to be precisely the product the market yearns for.

How could this supra-rational, mystical scenario come about? It can happen when individuals experience intuitions of knowledge. For example, through an elevation of consciousness I suddenly receive a solution to a long-term technical problem, or attract a vision of a new product, or have the subtle sense of what society subconsciously yearns for.

In this way, the future moves into the present; i.e. we are abridging time into no time. Thus, almost instantaneously, I can develop a 5-year advantage over my competitor, as I sense the unfoldings of the future in the here and know. I receive intimations of knowledge -- in the form of illuminations ("Eureka, I've Got It," said Archimedes); intuitions of the heart of the matter under scrutiny or the many-sided truth of subject; and revelations of the very thing that the future yearns for and is moving towards. With that knowledge, I develop products and services that leave competitors -- including competing nations -- in the dust. But, how to evoke such staggering intimations of where the future is heading?

We develop this ultimate knowledge-gathering power by moving our center of consciousness away from the surface of life, from the auditory and visual inputs bombarding our senses, to a deeper poise within. There, we develop a sense of calm and serenity, an inner silence that enables us to look out on the world as Silent Witness. From that still inner poise, we perceive the subtle movements of life; from within we have intimations of how to proceed and where to hold back; and from there we experience continuous descents of revelation of truth that give us the knowledge to move forward.

When we then proceed in our life from these points, every decision will tend to be the right one, and every action perfectly executed. As a result, we overcome space and time, as conditions of life continually work in our favor. In essence, we move from the ego plane, that of separate self, and move to the universal plane, which puts us in touch with the many-sided truth that comes from intimation and intuition. We garner the knowledge that is far ahead of our time; that puts us miles ahead of others in our domain. In essence, we bring the infinite potentials of life, normally waiting on a distant future, to the here and now.

Technological innovation that brings an edge over the competition is one thing. Instantaneous knowledge that compresses time, bringing future knowledge into the here now through intuitions of truth is a a step far beyond. It is a cosmic-oriented Decisive Competitive Advantage, available to anyone willing to pursue it.

Individuality

Individuality: Creating Something Out of Nothing

The human mind is very much affected by other minds. We tend to think what others think; and create along the lines others have created. Individuality is to break out of this mode; to think differently and manifest what has not existed before. In fact, individuality is to think and create something out of nothing, which may be the process of creation itself.

A businessperson may look around and try to expand her markets by following standard procedures and methods devised by the business community over the last 100 years. She may follow a business plan to a tee, and if she does, she will likely build a solid and successful business.

Another individual however examines the marketing schemes of that industry and is not satisfied with current approaches. She scans the market, contemplates the issues deeply, and comes up with new, unprecedented methods to reach the customer. She then wins over others on the board and has it incorporated into a new strategic plan. The company then implements these unusual, even radical approaches to the marketplace. Several months later, through the grapevine it is learned that certain salespeople are connecting with prospective customer in unusual ways. Not long after, orders start coming in from reps who adopted the approaches; first as a trickle; then as a steady stream; finally as torrent. At the end of the year, the company is astonished to discover that these usual, unprecedented marketing approaches have become the dominant way sales are being won. Plus, each sale is found to be of a higher order; in terms of size, net profit, and satisfied customers.

In this scenario, this marketing executive has expressed her individuality, creating unprecedented schemes that lead to unprecedented success. In essence, these approaches were not there before, but through a mental process were created out of nothing. A new idea had manifested a new reality. This ability to create something out of nothing is in fact the ultimate act of individuality.

While it is true that steady, hard work has enabled much success in the world, it is also true that those who have envisioned what has not been there before have had an inordinate, far greater effect. Whether ah Einstein or Niels Bohr in science, or a Steve Jobs in business and technology, or a Martin Luther in religion, each looked around, examined current conditions in their domain, moved within to contemplate the situation, and then came to new understanding that matured into a vision of possibility. Motivated to act, the result was they created that which was not there before; in essence, something out of nothing. This is the hallmark of the individual -- whether the dynamic entrepreneur, the great imaginative author of fiction, or the creative thinker.

We can thus begin to perceive a process occurring here; a logical unfolding of individuality. It begins within, in a human mind that has the curiosity to look around and examine this world, and from there engage in a creative, mental exercise using logic and reason in which new possibilities take shape. Out of those ideas emerge yet greater insight, and from there comes flashes of light (�Eureka, I�ve got it!� said Archimedes) and beyond that pure intuition in which unprecedented possibilities reveal themselves. E=mc², Einstein�s formula of material life, is of that type.

In this process, newly-conceived possibilities suddenly become real, even as society is stunned and stupefied by the result. Where there were never such things in the past, there is a new reality that has seemingly sprung out of nothing, like a vast field of flowers suddenly blooming in a once barren, sandy desert. Where did it all come from? Why did society suddenly change before our eyes? The answer is that it came from a creative mind that was fiercely individual, who looked at the world and conceived of a new one from within.

Using the Spirit

Spirituality and Business Success
To most people, Spirituality is escaping the realities of life ... breaking out of familial and materialistic ties. Some also believe that Spirituality and business are incompatibles. Both views are far from truth.

Spirituality is the discovery of one's true self, a pursuit of one's full potential.

Running a business is one of the best means of Spiritual fulfillment. For sustained success, a businessman requires tenacity, openness, tolerance, patience, insight, creativity, integrity, transparency, benevolence, selflessness and courage. These are all inherent elements of the Spirit as well. (MSS)

Work at Levels of Flat Dullness to Interest to Liveliness Born of Spirit
A work can be done at the level of flat dullness, interest, and liveliness. Flat dullness needs no explanation in that it will readily appear to the visitor. Flat dull work is done by energyless individuals, most of whom lack the skills needed for their work. Interest in work, work of the next higher order, is demonstrated by dynamic organisation determined to achieve through organised discipline and work values that keep up the standard of the product. Expenditure of excess energy will be in evidence at all points in the work. When a visitor enters, he will see an organisation where everyone works with interest. Liveliness, the ultimate ideal we seek, can be seen only in idealistic institutions that maintain the high original standards created at the time of inception. Essentially one is invoking the Spirit emerging in life, such as the stupendous success that students have in a school dedicated to true understanding in their learning, a refection of the spiritual ideal of True or Integral Knowledge.
Moreover, the ideal institutions such as these uphold is available to all of us when the Spirit is evoked in our own lives. Spirit evoked at any level will perform this miracle of invoking infinite accomplishment. (Paraphrase of MSS)

Spiritual Qualities that Engender Business Success
There are a number of spiritual qualities and methods that can dramatically increase success in business. Taking to any of them at the right time can attract overwhelming good fortune from the world around us. Among them are:

-being calm and equal in the face of difficulty

-opening to the spiritual force before engaging in any activity

-thinking exclusively of the other party instead of yourself

-focusing on the needs and interests of others

-taking the other person's point of view

-not speaking, which will cause others to speak out your thoughts

-orienting yourself inwardly instead of on the surface of life

-stilling the mind and heart whenever possible

-using your mind to consider all sides of a matter before acting

-avoiding impulsive action; even initiating if possible

-perceiving the outer as a reflection of your consciousness within

-altering outer conditions by changing corresponding element within

-taking to any action that brings greater harmony

-being unscrupulously honest

-maintaining a positive, optimistic, cheerful demeanor

-seeing negatives as positives in disguise

-taking responsibility

-expressing deep, heartfelt gratitude to others and life

-feeling and expressing goodwill towards others

-avoiding any negative expression concerning others

-making the right, higher consciousness cross-road decision

-seeking to know all sides of the truth of the matter

Prosperity for the Individual's Organization and the Nation
An individual devoted to the Divine, working within his own business or other organisation to make it prosperous by ways of Truth, will be a channel for the Force to descend on his country as Prosperity. (Paraphrase of MSS)

Consecration

Using Higher Methods in Works
Works provide the best of settings to concentrate in the depths within, consecrate acts in the unfolding, and surrender our capacities and our personal motives in life to the Higher Power and Will.

Consecrating Work and Luck
Constant consecration of a work to the spiritual Force will constantly attract luck.

Attracting the Market
An intense call [to the Higher Consciousness] with faith will evoke a response from the market. (MSS)

Doing Work for the Sake of Others and Consecration

A wise associate friend of mine recently made the following claim: "Doing any act for the sake of the ego causes tension, opens us to pain. ... Do the work for the sake of others and discover the joy in each act. Self-giving converts effort into joy."

So today before engaging in a small consulting contract over the phone, I offered a prayer to the Divine Mother that the customer should derive great benefit from the service. I sensed real sincerity behind my aspiration, which is not always fully the case.

Though challenging and full of twists and turns, the two hour session was very engaging, and the issues were resolved through creative, dynamic solutions. There was also real collaboration amongst the participants.

In other words, as a result of focusing on the fulfillment of others, the session became FRESH, ENERGIZING and JOYFUL for me, and SUCCESSFUL for the client, just as my associate friend indicated. At each point, life seemed to respond with a new possibility and corresponding right solution that enabled these wonderful outcomes. (2009-2011 Q1)

The Force Transcends Competition

Normally in business, we are in competition with others; which is a good thing, in that it can compel us to strive for greater success. But if each competitor in the same industry or domain has the aspiration and will to succeed, the result would seem to be winners and losers. And yet, if we have aspiration AND we open to the spiritual Force, then success is guaranteed, despite any rivals. In other words, utilization of the Spirit transcends competition.

Calling in Company Requires Organization for Long Term Effect
Calling [of the Spirit for an extended period of time] has a direct but short lived effect on business. This is so because calling increases ONLY energy. The increase of energy has no direct impact on the direction of energy into force or conversion of it into power through organisation. Nor does it have a similar impact of results that directly depend on skills.

A decision to gradually improve each aspect -- energy, force, organisation, skill -- and a withdrawing to a background beyond all these forces and their origin before the calling is released will have most effect. Such a calling can be ever present behind the personality. (MSS)

Overcoming Time

Limited Business Perspective
The surface consists of the five elements of Mind, Time, Finite, Ego and the Surface. The businessman who 1) plans according to his small conception, 2) according to the Time requirements of his work, 3) fixed to be a Finite determined by the volume of his capital, 4) is egoistic, 5) will be on the surface of business. Paying Attention to and Organizing Time
Paying attention to time evokes the Spirit behind Time. Organising Time in work evokes a higher Spirit of Time. Time in one work that honours Time in another work is co-ordination. Co-ordination extended all over the company evokes the Spirit of Time of your company. Punctuality at all levels of a company that co-ordinates work is the highest Spirit of Company Time. (MSS)

Luck in Business by Living in the Ever-Present
A businessman who can create the future in the present, i.e., the Ever-Present, enables all future possibilities, such as staggering accomplishment, success, wealth, prestige. etc. that occur normally over decades, to appear instantaneously in the Now. The infinite moves into the Ever-Present Now.

Harmony

Harmony
-Harmony is productive and disharmony is destructive. Harmony is desirable on any showing.

Traits of Business Relationship is Yourself Manifesting in Them
The person(s) with whom you have a business relationship is in fact YOU. All the difficult traits you see in them are in fact our traits and is an opportunity for us to change for good the similar traits in us. From this perspective if you will look at your whole proposal, it will be revealing. (MSS)

Great Leadership & Emotional Intelligence
-What makes a leader great? A commanding presence? Technical brilliance? The drive to work 80 hours a week? Or spending thirty minutes each day in self-reflection? The answer is self-reflection. Follow that up with highly trained listening skills, persistent optimism and a bit of empathy and you have a leader who's not only great, but superb.

-A steady stream of research over the past decade has consistently identified emotional intelligence as a much more powerful predictor of professional success than intelligence or expertise. Highly emotionally intelligent managers retain workers and encourage the productivity and innovation that make a company shine. Instead of trying to micromanage, effective leaders bring people together and inspire them.

-You must create an environment where people feel valued to be creative.

-Individuals' self-interest diminishes empathy and limits ability to see the big picture.

-The most capable leaders demonstrate modesty and even shyness, giving credit to the organization and their co-workers before themselves.

-The self-management aspect of emotional intelligence includes acting with honesty and integrity, especially in difficult situations. Executives must be flexible, and know when to walk away.

-An executive who surrounds himself with 'yes' men, creates a morally neutered environment. The emotionally intelligent leader, in contrast, is aware of others' feelings and is willing to admit mistakes.

Quality of the Product = Quality of the Management
W. Edwards Deming became famous in the field of management as an upholder of Quality. No one paid heed to him in the USA. So, he migrated to Japan, and made Japanese industry challenge the US. After that, the US industrialists sought him. W. Edwards Deming said, "Quality is not difficult to achieve, but to convince the management is difficult." The industrialist, the CEO, the Board, all do not want to change, but want the Quality of the product to rise. The truth is that the Quality of the product is the Quality of the management. As you are, so is the product. Man and his product are one, they are united. They cannot be separated. But, Mind can think clearly only when they are held apart. (MSS)
