Wealth and Self-Employment
Wealth lies in self-employment, not in salaried jobs. e.g. in India the talents have gravitated to the security of salaried jobs in the government where the present as well as the future is secure. Security banishes the accomplishment of the entrepreneur, the self-employed adventurer.

The majority of people who have started an industry on their own have become bankrupt because they are driven by ambition and are not endowed with the capacities for organisation.

Prosperity involves risk. Adventure is of the Spirit. Security is physical. Bodily labour and physical skill receive the least reward. The higher rewards are reserved for the Spirit.

The higher values of the Spirit, viz. Truthfulness, Honesty, etc. expressed in daily life avoid the risks of venture and offer unfailing success. That way, self-employment removes failure and offers secure wealth. (Paraphrase of MSS)

Self-Employment vs. Salaried Employment
People take note of a rising star when his coffers are receiving cascades of fortune. Common prudence sees that the continuous RISKS he takes make him a notable. A man risks his all - maybe a small fortune - and succeeds and comes by a few crores. Should he desire to rise, life at every step demands that he risk his all at the moment.

Men who once successfully risked their all and rose, refuse further risks and level off. A rising star is one who constantly risks. That is what makes him an entrepreneur. Unemployed people clamour for jobs. They do not readily consider the alternate option of self-employment.

Salaried employment offers security. The first casualty of self-employment is that sense of security. Unless one comes to enjoy the security of insecurity, he is not meant for self-employment and the attendant risks. Salaried employment is a part, self-employment is a WHOLE.

The part, if enamoured of the whole, must part with its security and court ever-present insecurity. (MSS)

Capacities of Salaried vs. Self-Employed Individuals
Salaried employment needs skills to work. Self-employment demands capacities to organise, produce, create. These capacities are inclusive of skills. (MSS)

Self-Employment that Allows for Idealism
When you have to earn them yourself, you become part of the social existence that can support an income. That organisation is not idealistic and will not permit idealism in one of its members. One’s idealism can survive his employment if he is not employed under another person. Self-employment can give a certain freedom, which is unavailable under salaried employment. He should be of better stuff. (MSS)

Seeking Self-Employment is One key to Moving Out of Poverty
To move out of poverty one needs to -- truly want more, make the effort to gain it, seek self-employment over normal employment, gain the necessary skills to accomplish it and establish personal values like organization, cleanliness, honesty, and others in one's life. If there is a foundation of such virtues, then further opening and calling to the Force will enable a multiplier effect of great achievement. Its a process that can easily be understood, and with will and determination, brought about in the shortest period of time with the maximum result. It's a formula for ultimate success, prosperity, and joy. (Based on MSS)

The Market is There for the Unselfish Thinker
The quest for knowledge [in the world] is there in a greater measure than before, in an unprecedented measure. It is a valuable market for those who are willing to exert themselves to cater to that market. That market is ubiquitous. It cannot be known from the textbooks or college courses. It has to come out of one’s own thinking based on his own observation of others’ needs. For such a person, an unselfish THINKER, there is an ever-expanding market in every sector. He who discovers it is the pioneer in that field. Even a new packaging - the sachet - brought about revolutionary potentials. Think, you can live better. (MSS)

Self-Reliance and Attracting Money
The real power to attract money comes from our own self-reliance, determination, and will; not from any dependence on another’s help and support. The power to attract money comes from the psychological viewpoint that I am the ultimate determinant of my fate.

Development Occurs When We Take It in Our Own Hands, to Wanting It
It is a truism in the field of development that a society will really develop when its members take it into their own hands. Any work of the government or other agencies may do the initial spade work, but it is not capable of consummating the process of development - a high degree of Prosperity. It reduces to man wanting more and more as days pass by. (MSS)

America's Self-Reliance
One of the reason's for America's founding and continuous success was that her people were dedicated to self-reliance.

Self-reliance, Integrity in the Child Instead of Wealth Inheritance as Key to Success in America
All successful men in America are men who made it themselves, who made it in the first generation. Therefore, the general belief in America is, the son should be on his own, reliance on wealth prevents the formation of ability.

Bill Gates, having made 64 billion dollars, gives away his wealth. He has endowed each of his two sons with one million dollars each. He believes the boy will be a success if he starts from nothing and any substantial inheritance will spoil him. Our tradition is happy and proud to leave as large an inheritance as possible to posterity.

Europe has practised primogeniture, passing on the estate to the eldest son and leaving all the other children to their own resources. In England, most of the shining talents of the English came from the second sons of a Lord, as they were on their own, while the eldest mostly dissipated the wealth inherited.

Eight hundred randomly chosen individuals with a minimum of $125,000 a year income in USA were studied. It is about Rs. 50 lakhs a year, or 5 lakhs a month. Most of them are embarrassed to be called rich or wealthy. Nor do they desire to furnish their house luxuriously. They want their children to be on their own, and do not cherish the idea of their inheriting great wealth. What they want to pass on to their children is high values such as integrity and honesty.

The wealthiest nation in the world has learnt a valuable lesson that Integrity in the child is more valuable than inherited wealth. (MSS)

Self-Reliance Shows Soul of a Nation
Self is the Soul of a nation. It is seen as self-respect and self-reliance. They are not worth parting with. (MSS)
