Energy Accomplishes

Energy is the fuel of life. The more fuel we have, the more that we can accomplish in life.  Children have a nearly endless amount of energy.  However, as we grow older we lose a lot of the energy and enthusiasm of our youth.  That is not an inevitable course, however.

There are so many ways we can bring back our old energy, or increase our energy from where we are now, so that we can accomplish so much more in life. On the one hand, we can learn how to avoid wasting our energies. For example, certain life activities (even ones considered normal) deplete us of energy. If we can reduce such activities, then our energy will increase.

More positively, we can increase our energy a number of ways. For example, we can develop a real aspiration in life, we can learn something new or gain a new skill. Likewise, we can create energy for ourselves by shifting our focus away from our own selves in conversations to the other person's thoughts, concerns, and points of views. This energizes and invigorates us, and, interestingly, also creates a sense of peace within us.

We have discovered that there are many different ways we can be energized. We can be energized through our minds, through our emotions, and through our bodies, or any combination of these. For example, a new idea can energize us through the mind; so can
learning something new or challenging, or following an ideal, sentiment, or value. Likewise a deep inspiration or feeling can energize us through our emotions. And, of course, living a healthy life, taking care of yourself, can energize us through our bodies.

When we are filled with energy, we can accomplish great things in life. So if we want to achieve great things in life, we need to maximize the amount of energy we have.

But where does energy itself come from? Energy is a product of one's will. That will can emanate from the body, the emotions, or the mind. It's mostly in the vital/emotional part of us. For example, the will in a salesperson emanates primarily from the vital/emotional part of his being. He tends to like to interact with people; he takes pleasure in such interaction; he enjoys the vital exchange of emotions and connection. In such cases the will originates in the vital's tendency to enjoy social interaction and interchange. Most great achievers in life have this trait of overflowing energy, emanating from a highly developed will centered in the vital part of the being.

Likewise, energy can emanate from the mind as an idea, a sentiment, a value, or one's self-conception of that which one wants to be or create. However, the mental energy coming from our minds cannot really achieve much in life unless it has engaged the will in one's vital/emotional center.

Perhaps the greatest way to create energy in our lives is to consciously follow a process of personal growth and accomplishment that can release enormous amounts of energy in one's life. That process consists of finding one's direction in life, releasing the will to see it through, organizing a plan of implementation, and carrying it out to results and achievement. In that way one's original energy is directed into a force, further organized into a vast power for accomplishment.

Finally, we can utilize the ultimate source of energy in life by opening ourselves to the higher spiritual energies around us. We can come in touch with the spirit by discovering the spirit within ourselves, or by opening to the transcendent Divine. By doing so we connect with the infinite powers and energies of the universe creation, which when absorbed enable us to achieve and accomplish infinitely in life. After all this is the same force and energy that enabled a universe of forms to emanate from a Divine source.

Here are a few strategies to maximize your energy:

Increase Your Aspiration in Life
Energy is a product of one's will. The more will, the more energy. But what creates will in life? It is created by your aspirations in life. Whenever you aspire for something it creates the will that energizes. If you don't have energy, consider if you are lacking aspiration in life. Then consider how to attain aspiration. Think about what you would like to accomplish in life, what opportunities are out there, what you would like to achieve, what you would like to learn, and so forth. When you find what you want, you will feel aspiration rise, which will stir the will, and energize your being.

Develop, Commit, and Organize a New Endeavor

If you decide that you want to undertake a new endeavor, such as a new project or a new business venture, great energy will be required on your part. If however, you are able to think out clearly what you want, commit to it, and work out the specific details (i.e. organize your vision and goals), you will see your mental energy grow, which will then be followed by a rise in your vital/emotional energy and will, and then your physical energy, giving you the necessary propulsion to see your endeavor through to great success. In other words, by leading with your mentality, your mind's capacity for establishing direction and organization, you release the a vast energy of the other parts of your being that can take you to your goal in spades.

Learn a New Skill or Niche

Whenever you learn something new, you will feel energy flowing into yourself.  If you implement the new skill or knowledge in your life, you will also feel a fresh surge of energy and enthusiasm. Life will respond!

-A manager decided to train his illiterate workers. They and the company thereafter were so happy and energized. Even the machines started working better!

-An instructor learns a new program to teach. He is not only feels a mental energy, stimulated there by what he has learned, but feels additional energy in his being by the possibility that he could extend this new knowledge into new possibilities in his career.

Think about something new you want to learn that's important to your work or your personal life. Then take it up in full. You'll see your energy shoot up.

Prioritize Life Activities

Sometimes we spread our energy across too many activities and interests in our lives causing us to have less than enough energy for the most important things. Try to evaluate which items in your life takes the highest priorities, and devote more of your energy towards these, and less to those of less importance.

Also, any way you can organize yourself one level higher than you are doing now, will certainly help you with your energy level.

Develop Positive
Attitudes

It's always best to have a generally positive attitude.  A positive attitude attracts positive circumstances and fortune in our lives, and at the same increases our energy. Having a negative attitude attracts the opposite.  Worry, anxiety, fear, anger, depression, restlessness, impatience, etc. are inborn, primal negative attitudes that deplete one's energy.

In the course of a day "watch" your psychological state, and see if you get into any of these negative states.  (Normally people are demonstrating one of these negative attributes nearly every minute of the day!).  Now catch the negative attitude, and stop it. After a few moments you will feel a sense of ease, peace, and soothing energy.

In addition, we can see that in the course of the day one is always reacting to life in defeatist ways. "Oh, I can't do this.", "Or that won't work out," etc. These are the defeatist element that s in every one's nature, and drains the energies. One must learn to control this automatic, defeatist part of our consciousness in order to keep our energies high.

A Note on Patience
-- Patience is a source of energy of the highest order, the order of the soul. Patience can effect the body, the nerves and emotions, and the mind. Physically it creates quiet and makes the body function better. Emotionally it creates calm that makes for greater affectivity of the nerves. Mentally it creates peace that is the foundation of acquiring greater knowledge. This is effect creates more energy for the person.

For example, often when people are presented with a great opportunity or other positive possibility (which brings in a higher level of energy), it is squandered away by an over eager reaction by that person. If instead the individual keeps the parts of his being calm, steady, undisturbed -- in short, patient -- he absorbs that incoming energy and the opportunity or other positive possibility gets completed and realized. If, for some reason, he is unable to absorb the incoming energies, the energy is "spilled over" and the opportunity or possibility evaporates and is lost.

In addition to having a general positive attitude to overcome the shared set of primal negative attitudes that dog every human, there is the set of negative attitudes that each human uniquely possesses. For example one individual could show a propensity to close-mindedness, laziness, dislike of the work you are given, procrastination, selfishness, ill-will toward others, and other less primal, more specific-to-the individual type negative attitudes. Another individual would have his or her own unique set. If one can make the effort to identify our unique negative attitudes, and then make a sustained effort to overcome them, a vast reservoir of energy will flood the being.

Overcoming Fatigue by Eliminating Unwillingness

Energy in essence comes from the will of one's being. If one has the will, there will be energy. If one doesn't have the will, energy will be blocked -- e.g. one can become tired. If one is tired in life one needs to consider if one is resisting the work we are involved with in some way; where the will is in in essence is opposition to the work; i.e. we are unwilling to do the work. Overcoming this unwillingness will release energy and overcome such tiredness.

Shift Your Focus to Others

A related way to increase your energy is at any moment in time to shift your focus from yourself to those around you. As you do this, you will feel the eagerness, strain, or flatness related to your own self-focus to be replaced by an ease, energy, and joy of your focus to those around you. Moreover, others around you are more likely to respond positively to you, giving you even more energy!

Give Up an Opinion

What applies to a negative attitude also applies to an overly held opinion. As an experiment, take one of your ordinary attitudes or opinions -- something you like or dislike pretty strongly. Suspend for a moment the idea that it's right, necessary, reasonable, essential to your existence. Throw the attitude or opinion away. Discover the truth in the very opposite attitude expressed by someone you vehemently disagree with. Energy will pour into your mind.

Speak Less, Speak Softly

Here is an unusual way to create energy that is guaranteed to work. Instead of verbalizing everything in your mind, hold the thoughts to yourself. Do not speak them out. After a while you'll notice that your energy is replenished. Likewise if you speak softly and avoid speaking loudly you will also notice that your energy will not be depleted. We cannot say enough on how important these two points are!

If you learn to be more concentrated inside yourself and as you learn to develop mental silence within yourself, you will become more thoughtful. This will have the effect of reducing the quantity and pitch of the sounds that emanate from you. Words will be few, your voice will grow soft and thinking more organized. Furthermore, as your speech is reduced by acquiring concentration and mental quietude, one will feel one is more attractive as a person to others, even charming. This is especially so at work. Reduced verbalization of thoughts, speaking softly rather than loudly, creating an inner calm and working from that silence all have a tendency to attract positive responses from life.

Change a Habit

Changing any common habit or activity can also increase one's energy. Take any simple physical habit such as brushing your teeth, eating, or writing a letter. Try to become conscious of every thought, feeling, sensation, and movement which arises when you express the habit. Now change the way you do it. Break the habitual movements. Think, feel and do it differently. Energy will surge through your nerves.

An instructor had been conducting a particular class the same way for months on end. The results were flat; the students only mildly involved. He decided to take a completely different approach in his training technique and methodology. Now when the teacher uses this new approach for the course the students are energized and enthusiastic, leading to far higher class evaluations for the instructor.

Energy Wasting Activities
There are a number of activities in life that deplete one's energies.  Many of us accept then as a normal part of life.  However, many things can wear you out, drain your emotions, or cloud your mind. Think about some of the items you are doing that are depleting you of your physical, emotional, or mental energy (e.g. drinking, drugs, food indulgence, overripe attachments to others, sexual indulgence, etc.). Then try to cut back in these areas wherever possible.

Also:
-Reduce stress through one's psychological techniques (e.g. staying calm at all times, not being reactive, putting aside quiet time for rest, relaxation, reflection, meditation, etc.)
-Eat right, exercise regularly.

Hidden Deflators of Energy

There are some other very unusual, hidden ways that energy can get depleted. For example, one individual went to a funeral, where the atmosphere and consciousness was low, where the energy was somehow deflating, even if people were not conscious of he fact. When he arrived back from the funeral and touched his computer, it would not function. This is an example of how something outside, a person, a gathering, or some other force can secretly be debilitating and reducing the energy surrounding it, which can enter people, who when they interact with something else spread this unseen debilitation of energy. One can also feel depleted of energy if someone has a hostile will toward you, or is untruthful toward you, or is disorganized in their thoughts, or is expending the wrong type of energy, etc.

There are also "inner", spiritual-like approaches to increase your energy.

Be Still to Eliminate Fatigue
If you are feeling fatigued, there is a simple solution to overcome it. Simply be still and quiet. Try to just relax, and remain quiet and calm. At a point soon thereafter your energies will return. I possible wait for it to return before acting. It is also helpful to have positive thoughts, eliminating all pessimism during this period of stillness.

Develop An Inner Poise

One
can begin in one's life a movement from living on the surface of life to the depths within. As one withdraws from the surface in our daily activities, as we move deeper within, we are far less troubled by the outside, because we have found the calm, Inner Being within. From that poise problems on the outside melt away, because we cease to exist in our ego state, or state of separateness. From this inner poise we are able to calmly see all our mistakes, impulses, overreactions, poor attitudes, assertive opinions, etc. that occur on the outside. By being stationed within, our day moves along more calmly, sweetly, perfectly, integrally. Things unfold more as peace and joy.

In addition, it has the effect of sustaining and strengthening our level of energy.

Infinite Spiritual Energies

We can know the ultimate source of energy in life by opening ourselves to the higher spiritual energies around us. We can come in touch with our inner spiritual essence and being, or open to the transcendent Divine, to connect us with the infinite powers and energies of the universe. It is in fact that Force that connects us to the source of all energy in the universe.

There are a number of ways to open one's self to the higher energies and forces that exist in the universe. If one opens to these forces one can tap into energies that are infinite, which can translate into infinite energy in your life.

For example, here's an "inner" psychological approach to increasing your energy. Sit quietly for a few minutes, close your eyes, and "call" energy into your being. Call silently and intensely, as if you were calling a dearly beloved friend. Imagine your being opening to the energy above and around you. After a while energy will surge into your body.

Here are some other ways to open to the infinite energies of the universe.

  • Have non-egoistic thoughts.
  • Have all unselfish thoughts. Turn selfish thoughts, feelings, and acts into unselfish thoughts, feelings, and acts.
  • Take the other person's point of view; e.g. In business think of the customer's point of view.
  • Get in touch with the inner being, one's inner soul through concentration there.
  • Know that one is not an ego, but a universal and transcendent person.
  • From a spiritual inner feeling, have a spiritual sympathy for humanity.
  • Read about the spiritual dimensions of life; the infinite, the Divine, etc.
  • Take up a spiritual discipline.
  • Open to the Force before undertaking a major event. Open to it for smaller events.
  • Bring Inner Silence into your life.

Energy in the Essence of Existence
-Energy is the essence of life. From out of the creation came matter as forms of force.

-Energy began at the inception of the creation as energy at rest. The Big Bang as energy at rest began to move and expanded as energy in motion. If scientists knew that the creation began as energy at rest, not in motion it would revolutionize their perceptions and understanding. If they further knew that energy at rest came out of the "nothing," from the Divine it would change the direction of science.

-Everything in the universe is infinite, though each things seems to be finite. When we see how matter can be converted to energy (including nuclear fusion and fission) we see how there is infinity in matter, in everything in life. This indicates that all things in life, not just matter, have infinite potential waiting to be released. Everything we now perceive as finite can be infinite.

-Energy directed in life becomes force. Force that is organized becomes power. Power organized for action becomes skills. Skills organized in an person becomes a capacity.

TO DO:

Energy Evaluation and Action Plans
In the course of a day try to identify all events and activities that appear to deplete one's energies. Use the topics above to help you understand those areas where energy is often depleted. For example, when you feel tired at some points in time, try to associate it with something that occurred earlier that relates to it; or notice why you are fatigued in general over times, and try to associate it with a cause. Then make an effort to change that. We suggest you make a list (as shown in the example below) of the ways that energy is depleted in your life, along with corresponding action plans to overcome it.

Ways energy got depleted Action plan to improve
Angry, negative -- I read articles by writers on the web, get angry at their limited point of view, and send off an explanation of my point of view. I notice it depletes my energy sometime thereafter. Don't send any responses unless you can say something constructive. Even then consider if it is important enough to spend the time and energy on
Annoyance at others -- I get annoyed with a superior from time to time. It drains me of energy. Stop this behavior. Understand why I am doing this, and how it related to something else more fundamental, and address that instead.
Talk too much -- I talk too much and don't give others the full time to express themselves without having to offer my thoughts and opinions. That drains energy. Keep my mouth shut, thoughts under control. Most importantly listen to others words, and sincerely get into their thoughts and feelings.
Doesn't Take What Life Give -- I don't take up what life gives to me to do; and instead putter around with less important things, wasting energy that could have gone to the main thing and leading to greater success. Watch carefully what life seems to present to me, positively react to it, and focus on it, rather than avoid it.
Opinionated -- I have the tendency to always having to express my thoughts and opinions on things, especially on trivial things, which wastes energy. I don't have to express opinions about things on TV, or when having discussions with people
Impulsiveness -- I react impulsively to things when they come up, rather than reacting as I should in due time. This unfocuses me, and drains energy.  Learn to not act so impulsively to things when they appear. Better yet, develop an inner, calm poise, which will prevent this impulse, energy draining reaction to things from occurring.
