The Process of Business Growth & Development

What enables companies to take giant leaps, enable great improvement in a short period of time? Is there a process that can be learned that we can follow that will bring about radically accelerated growth, profitability, and success in a company? We think there is.

The conscious concerted effort to take the company to the next level of accomplishment, and then move it in that direction, organize the effort, and execute it through acts is the process of how businesses make very rapid, vast leaps in growth and development.

Actually all companies are undergoing this process all the time, though it is happening unconsciously on its own, over a long period of times, with zigs and zags along the road to accomplishment. By consciously making this effort, we put the process in our own hands, enabling us to accelerate the growth and development of the company to levels limited only by our imagination.

Let's then detail the steps of this process of business growth and development.

  • STARTING POINT/CURRENT ENERGY
    The business has saturated the current forms, levels of its existence with energy and is ready to create new forms, move to higher levels for its excess, surplus energy. 

  • VISION, DECISION DIRECTS ENERGY INTO FORCE FOR ACCOMPLISHMENT
    There is a compulsion among leaders and others in the company to move it to the next level. Perhaps there's a new opportunity in society or in the industry for the company, or the company has a general aspiration for improvement, increase sales, profits, market share, etc. In other words, with excess energy at its current level the company is moved to go to a higher level based on external or internal opportunities or aspirations. This in turn leads a vision of what it wishes to be or go or become, which is turned into a decision to make it happen. This directional stage converts the excess, surplus energy into a force for accomplishment.  

  • ORGANIZED FORCE TURNS ENERGY INTO POWER FOR ACCOMPLISHMENT
    The newly directed energy then has to be channeled through organization that can convert the directed energy into productive results and power. Organization determines who will do what, when it will be done, how it will be done and in what sequence so that management’s vision, goals, and values, are directed through potential strategies and plans of action, thus densifying, developing, formulating, expanding the original vision, intent. 

    The more the strategies, plans, and other organizing formulations are addresses through company systems, activities, jobs, divisions, departments, et al (i.e. the company's structure) the greater the power that is released for achievement at the next higher level.

  • EXECUTION BY PEOPLE TURN POWER INTO RESULTS (i.e. Profitability, Growth, Quality)
    Finally, the results achieved by this directed and organized force depend on the attitudes of its people, and the knowledge and skills of individuals to carry out specific acts to implement management goals, values, strategies, and action plans. Perfectly carried out acts, through the knowledge-filled and skilled execution of the company's people is the final trigger that propels it to the next plateau of achievement and success.

Companies that have consciously followed this process have seen rapid, unprecedented levels of growth and or profitability.

Unfailing Success
There's one other important point to be made. To insure that the company's movement to the next highest level is in fact accomplished, there needs to be psychological commitment and desire for the endeavor, unrelenting effort to accomplish it, and complete, persevering follow through to see that things are carried out as intended.

Often companies begin the process of moving to the next level, but don't follow through, either because of lack of commitment, lost interest, lack of effort, or the missing perseverance to see it through. If one overcomes these limitations then one creates the conditions for unfailing success in moving to the next level and unprecedented levels of accomplishment and success for the company.
