In this interview Roy Posner, president
of Growth Online, discusses what he believes is the secret power of the
universe, and how we can learn to utilize it in our own lives. Using
analogies from Star Wars and his own practical experiences, he explores
this spiritual key to human existence that was revealed to us by the
sage Sri Aurobindo. Created February 2001
Growth Online: Welcome again to the
Growth Online interview series.
RP: I am happy to be here.
Growth Online: Today's
topic is "The Force." As in "always remember the force, Luke" in
Star Wars?
RP: (laughter) Well
something like it, yes!
Let's see. In Star Wars
Obi Won Kanobi tells Luke that when he is in any difficult situation he
should give up his emotions and thoughts, and instead open himself to
the workings of "the force." By giving one's self to the force, there is
a sudden positive response from life; one instantly knows what to do and
how to do it. We see this phenomenon portrayed in a work of science
fiction, but it is a real power in life, and is the real, hidden
great secret of human existence; the secret to infinite success and joy
in our lives.
Consider the scene in the
third episode Star Wars when they are having the final battle with the
empire in space. By now Luke has been well-trained in the workings of
The Force. As he attempts to ward off enemy cruisers, it is obvious that
things are going poorly for him and his fighter mates. So Luke hears his
inner voice, and remembers to open to the force. A moment later he has
the instinct of the right thing to do in the current situation. He
suddenly changes his tact, and ends up taking an action that leads to
the death of his adversaries.
So the force worked in
this tale. We can similarly open to the force in our lives and see
instant or almost instant great benefit and positive life response to
our invocation as well.
Actually there was
something that happened in that moment (when he opened to the force)
that was of equal interest to me. In previous scenes we see how Hans
Solo, Princess Leia, and their army (who are the allies of Luke) are
faring very poorly back on the planet, where they were fighting the same
enemy. What George Lucas shows next was stunning to me. He shows that
just after Luke opened to the force, not only did he take the right
action that led to the demise of the enemy in space, but instantaneously
back on the planet, where the other parallel battle was waging, the
fortunes of princess Leia's army instantaneously suddenly changed as
well!
A series of events took
place on the planet in the next minute that turned around the battle
from certain doom to unexpected victory. Luke's invocation of the force
not only solves his problem in outer space, but is connected to a
related event somewhere else, in this case the war on the ground. It is
as if there were a great web of consciousness that connects related
though far apart people, events, and circumstances. If one were to take
an action involving one thread of this web, it would have an impact on
other related points on this web. So we see that this force has this
added power.
So what I am suggesting
here is that this what occurs in this story is exactly how the
force works in real life! You open to the force, and a more positive
reality suddenly comes forth to meet your call. Normally we call these
miracles; however, these are not miracles at all! This is how now life
is organized at the deepest levels. We are just not aware of this power
in the world. The implications for our use of this power in our own
lives is staggering. We would need to reevaluate all of our concepts as
causality, all of our ideas of time and space, all of our ideas about
quantity and quality of possibility. We would have to reexamine on
entire relationship to life itself.
Growth Online: So you
think there really is a "force" in real life, the same as the force in
Star Wars.
RP: Yes I do believe the
force exists in real life, and I believe it is something new in the
world. We just have not been exposed to it. While we can vaguely
recognize the workings of the force when watching a science fiction
movie, we have no real perception or understanding of the force in real
life. In real life we might pass it off to coincidence, God's will, or
something similar. This force is much more than these nebulous
perceptions. It is deeper and profounder. It is a new power in the
universe that is real!
Too many people I know of are having the experiences of the workings
of this force, and it is surely mind-boggling what they are
experiencing!
But there is more to this
force than even these miraculous capabilities. For one, the force is the
reason that we exist in the first place! It is also the key to the
future evolution of the human race. It is even the key to the destiny of
the universe itself!
If I may digress for a
moment into a little metaphysics. In our
Theory of Creation at Growth Online we explain the birth of the
cosmos. We begin with the idea that at first, before the cosmos came
into being there was the Absolute, the One, the divine -- infinite and
eternal. For its own Delight the divine created what we understand as
the universe. The universe, the Many that emerged out of the One, first
developed as the Physical principle of existence, taking its form
as matter. Then the evolution continued. Out of matter came the
Vital/Life principle. This is the principle that life emerged from
-- plants, animals, humans, the beings that can sense and feel, and
react. Out of the Vital/Life principle came the principle of Mind,
the principle of consciousness and knowledge that is the basis of our
brains and our powers of thought. In the humans these three principles
manifest as our physical bodies, that's the physical plane; our emotions
and feelings, that's the vital plane; and in our thoughts, that is the
mental plane.
We can further say that
the process by which the One became the Man, that is the process that
led to the creation, was the Involution of the One. Yes, that's
In-volution. Involution is everything that led up to the creation.
What happens after the creation 15 billion years ago is the start of the
Evolution.
Then what is the goal of
evolution? What is the destiny of the cosmos and life? It is for the
cosmos, humanity, individual humans to connect back to the original
spiritual principle, the One, the Absolute, from which the universe
emerged in the first place!
But how can we do this?
That's where the force comes into play.
When our universe emerged
from out of the Absolute, the One, the force was already involved
in the process. This attribute or quality of the Absolute that gave the
Absolute the push, i.e. enabled the process to unfold is what we call
"the force." Then when the universe manifest, i.e. the cosmos was
created, this force was lost, or at least we can say it was hidden, not
known or experienced by human consciousness. In our evolution we are
destined to rediscover this force, and by rediscovering it, we connect
to the originating infinite powers and attributes of the
Absolute, the One. If the force could create a universe, then surely we
could utilize it in our own lives to do just about anything!
So the force played a
role in the emergence of the universe from the One, and it is also the
link for us in our evolution to connect back to the spiritual qualities
of the One. The force has the infinite powers, energies, and
attributes of the Absolute, the One. So if we are able to use it in our
lives, we get have fantastic powers at our disposal; powers of infinite
knowledge, infinite creation, infinite joy and delight.
We try to improve
ourselves a little bit because we believe we are limited creatures; yet
there are infinite powers at our disposal just below the surface. We
want to be a little bit happier, when we can become ten times happier.
We want to be a little bit wealthier, when we can become a thousand
times more. We want to accomplish a bit more, when we can accomplish and
create at a hundred times the level we do now. We want to deal with a
problem in life, when we can solve it instantly. We believe we must
struggle to get the cooperation of life, when we can become the masters
of life.
If I can get back to the
metaphysics again for a moment. We can think of this force, as the
dynamic aspect of the Divine, of God. It is a new power in the world
that has been lost till recently. If we connect to this force, we forge
a link to the underlying currents and powers of the universe. The force
not only connects us in our evolution back to its original state, but it
connects us to its infinite powers; powers for accomplishment, success,
and achievement; powers that enable truth to emerge in any situation and
circumstance; powers that enable true knowledge to emerge; powers to
overcome the falsehoods and limitations we inherited as a species;
powers to overcome our own unique personal limitations.
There are many examples
of this I can share with you from real life experiences, but before I do
so I think its important to understand its foundation.
Growth Online: You
often refer to the work of the Indian sage Sri Aurobindo and his partner
the European woman known as The Mother when it comes to the force.
RP:
Sri Aurobindo was
the Indian sage who worked for Indian independence, and then gave it all
up to search for the spiritual truth that could lead this world out of
the division, suffering, and falsehood; falsehoods not unlike the
English colonialization of India that he fought against in his early
years.
Sometime after he was
jailed by the British for his revolutionary activities in the early part
of the 20th century, he began to experience this force that we are
speaking of. For years alone in solitude he made a great effort to
understand and utilize this new power. He was kind of like a spiritual
scientist, trying to understand its properties and processes.
One of the things he
realized was that this force was a power that had not yet been fully
formed! Not because it didn't exist, but because we were, or I should
say the earth wasn't capable of receiving such a power at that point in
time. He decided that he had to make a link between this hard to fathom
power that he had seen do startling things, and the earth consciousness
that could not perceive it. For Sri Aurobindo the force was a power that
first needed to be called into our cosmos, the earth, before people
could perceive it and utilize it. We can say that Sri Aurobindo saw that
the force was too diffuse in its current level functioning in the world,
not clearly defined or manifest in the atmosphere of the cosmos and the
earth, and needed to be coagulated or brought in sharper focus somehow.
Sri Aurobindo in his
spiritual experimentations understood that because of the way the
cosmos, the earth were formed, the force could not fully enter and
penetrate our domain. Our universe he understood was born of
"inconscience," an ignorance, insensibility, and falsehood, that did not
allow the entrance of such a power. It was only after 15 billion years
of evolution, when the mental power in humans had developed, was this
power ready to reemerge. Hence he called the power the Supramental
consciousness, because the emergence of mind was required to perceive
it. The Supramental consciousness was the intermediary between the
spiritual One, the source of creation, and humans, who were the
harbingers of human evolution and the destiny of the cosmos.
Realizing that the time
was ripe for the full emergence of the force, he dedicated himself to
bringing this force more fully into the earthly domain.
So as he studied and experimented in his meditations, contemplation
about the nature of this force, and began in earnest to bring the force
down into the earthly realm himself. For almost thirty years he
stayed in his room, and inwardly through his spiritual practice, tried
to bring this force, this consciousness more concretely into the earth's
atmosphere, that is within range of the consciousness of humanity.
In one sense he was the
discover of the force, or should I say the rediscover of the
force. He was also the individual who attempted to concentrate the force
in the earth's atmosphere so that humans could more easily access it.
He also asked his
disciples to use the force in their own personal transformation; to use
it to enter their consciousness and elevate the obscure parts of their
physical bodies, their emotions, and their thought processes. For
example, if a disciple had a weakness, such as a poor attitude or an
overblown ego, he would not only ask the disciple to make a personal
effort to overcome the limitation through control, but also asked him to
call down the force into their being to fully transform that limiting
part of their nature.
One related point should
me made here. It's the fact that the disciples were asked to get in
touch with their inner being, their soul, if you will. By focusing,
developing, and functioning from this level, the disciples was less
likely to be living on the surface of life; they were living from a
deeper poise. By living inwardly at the personal soul level they were
more likely to have the deeper aspiration for the force to descend into
them. If they lived on the bubbly surface of life, the need and
aspiration for the force would probably evaporate. Likewise we can learn
to live from this deeper poise, which will make us more likely to have
the aspiration for the force. If we live on the surface of things all
the time we are puppets to the latest whims, emotions of the day.
So Sri Aurobindo and The
Mother eventually became conduits of the force for their disciples, and
even for events around them. Disciples were asked to open to the Mother,
who was the transmitter of the force into the disciples lives. Of
course, the disciples could also open directly to the Truth
Consciousness force if they wished as well, though they might not get
the concentration that The Mother offered, since she was in close
proximity and focused the force out into the disciples around her.
In addition, Sri
Aurobindo and The Mother themselves would open up to the force in their
own transformation, and would open to the force to solve not only
problems of their disciples but any problems in the world. For example,
they claim that through their utilization of the action of the force,
they were able to stop an invasion by the Chinese over the Himalayan
borders into India in the early 1960s; and they were able to help the
plight of the Allied forces in World War II. Sri Aurobindo, once
suggested that through the force he was instrumental in invoking the fog
over Dunkirk, between England and France, allowing the British to return
in their small boats from France to England, escaping the Nazi air
force.
Eventually Sri Aurobindo
saw that his partner The Mother could be the great direct conduit of the
force to his disciples. He saw that she had the innate, natural ability
to be a great transformer of the force. He told his disciples to open to
her and the force would come into them through here. She was in turn
focused in her own personal development on being a fluid, dynamic
transmitter of the force to the disciples. If Sri Aurobindo was the
gentleman who uncovered the force, learned its workings, and helped
bring it more concretely into the world, then it was The Mother who
could be the transmitter and conduit, the concentrator if you will, of
the force for the disciples, perhaps even for the world itself.
Growth Online: So is
the force then locked up in some kind of religion, with Sri Aurobindo
and the Mother as the guardians of the force?
RP: (laughter) Well
religion is certainly the last thing they were interested in. The Mother
said that if they created a religion out of the discoveries they made,
she would be the first one to leave and reform with a new group of
disciples!
Her interest was in
experimentation and transformation, not in building a religious
foundation. In fact, it was through
their understanding of the nature of the creation, the nature of the
cosmos, the nature of this force, that they understood that the
traditional religion's time was drawing to a close. They believed that
the religions of the world had served a great purpose in the world. They
had brought the divine to the communities of the world. However, they
saw that the religions had rather limited, one-dimensional views
and perceptions of the spiritual domain, and that at least in their
current form, they could serve little purpose in the future development
of humanity.
Sri Aurobindo and The
Mother were interested in the transformation of our the world of
ignorance, falsehood, division, and duality. A transformation that could
lead to a world filled with light, truth, happiness, perfection, and
infinite possibility for accomplishment and joy. Heaven and the promise
of the next world was not their focus. Their goals was human
transformation and human fulfillment in this world.
To answer your question,
Sri Aurobindo was just the rediscover of the force. Anyone, anywhere
could use it. He made the great discovery for the world, and it is up to
us to open to it. As for the Mother she concentrated the force into her
own being so that the disciples could have a focal point from which to
open to the force. The force is however available to anyone, anytime,
without reference to these individuals. The real question is are we
willing to open to its unbelievable powers, to create vastly greater
accomplishment, success, and happiness in life.
Growth Online: You
mentioned the transformation and fulfillment in the world in the future.
I'm not really clear how this force squares with the idea of
transformation and fulfillment in the world?
RP: Well they knew
that the universe was created in duality and darkness; a mixture of good
and bad, truth and falsehood. They understood how the dualities and
divisions of the creation also manifest as duality and divisions in all
sentient beings, including human beings. They wanted to change this
situation in the cosmos, in society, for individual humans. They
hungered for a way out of the ignorance, suffering, falsehood, division,
and dualities of the world. So Sri Aurobindo discovered that the force
was the key; the way out, the transforming mechanism that could change
our dual nature into one of wholeness, infinite possibility, and
infinite delight.
Once they had
experimented and understood the working of the force, and became
conduits and instrumentations of it, they asked their disciples to open
to it, and make it a central focus of their development and evolution;
just as Obi Wan asked of Luke. By opening to it they could open
themselves to powers that would overcome their personal limitations;
attract positive responses and circumstances from life; create greater
harmony of interaction with life and with others; release infinite
physical, emotional, and mental energy, and open them to the
possibilities of infinite accomplishment and joy.
Furthermore, on this
basis, a new world could be born; a new society could be in the
making. A society where the division and duality in our world can be
finally overcome. That was the vision and challenge that Sri Aurobindo
offered to the world. And it was this force that we have been talking
about that would be the instrument this transformation and fulfillment.
Growth Online: So how
have you seen the force work in your own life?
RP: I'm glad you asked me
that!
After all it is one thing
to believe, it is another to experience. To have faith in the
possibility of an idea or in the possibility of a thing to happen is one
thing; but actually experience, well that is everything. It
becomes a fact to you.
Of course, one must be
objective, and not carried away with one's small experiences, and then
rail to the world that Eureka! I've got it. That's where so much
spiritual and religious energy falls back into. One most be cautious,
perceive the thing in it's many planes, in its integral truth. Then
perhaps one can make a claim to the world.
But to answer your
question about my experiences with the force.
(pause) First of all I
would like to say that there are dozens of people I know of who are
opening themselves to this force and are seeing great or overwhelming
transformation or great positive results, or dramatically increased
happiness in their lives.
Of course, there are
hundreds, probably thousands of others who are having the same
experience. You might say that everyone in the world who has faith or
who prays to God are also having these sudden, transformational
experiences.
However I really believe
there is something new in this force, something very
specifically fresh and new in its workings, that is different
from anything before it, including our own traditional connection to the
divine. We can probably say that the force is a
new, dynamic aspect of God that has entered the earthly
realm or human consciousness, if you want to see it from that angle.
It's workings, functionings, results, and even the feeling and
experiences one can have I believe are unprecedented in the world.
People's experiences are just very different utilizing this force
than anything experienced before. There is nothing in our past spiritual
experiences, spiritual experiences, religious experiences, that are
quite the same as this new functioning. In scientific terms alone there
is a change. Time and space are overcome; cause and effect are overcome;
people become something and develop innate capacities that weren't
possible in the past. All logic is thrown to the wind. We have reached
into the infinite potential and possibilities of the universe. it is
only now in the newer higher mental development of humanity that we are
ready to experience the force in all its mind-boggling possibility. The
time has arrived. So this new, dynamic
plane of the divine is the stunning reality that Sri Aurobindo and The
Mother had discovered.
(pause) I remember I was
teaching this course. In the morning everything went poorly; I didn't
fully know my lessons, people were arriving late, students were having
trouble keeping up in the class; just about everything that could go
wrong, did go wrong.
I could not bare the
possibility that this could continue into the afternoon session with
these same students. So I steadied myself at the lunch break, and opened
myself to the force. (gesture of calm and then opening to a force
above)
The class resumed in the
afternoon, and I had long forgotten my attempt at connection to the
force. After an hour or so I noticed that things were going very
differently. All the students arrived back on time from their lunch
break, every lesson went perfectly, students were energized; yet there
was a distinct calm and peacefulness in the room.
At the end of the day
when I read my evaluations, on which I expected to score miserably, I
received very high scores and the course itself was scored quite highly,
considering the great difficulties of the earlier morning session. I had
expected a disaster, and got a very nice surprise.
When I sat down and put
down their evaluations, it dawned on me for the first time that day that
the force must have been at work. It was the only answer. Life does not
work like this. The change was too overwhelming in its perfection. In
retrospect I saw that the force had essentially turned falsehood into
truth, strain into peace, confusion into order, and it all happened at
once. Somehow I was able to get the
complete
cooperation of life!
I have had this type of
experience many times since then. Each time it occurs it results in
something astounding, yet something so serene and peaceful at the same
time. Each time I have the experience, it is very different from the
pervious time. Each time I have it, I learn something different. I
should also mention that I have friends and associates who experience it
much more than I do, because their very lives are dedicated to it; or
should I say that they are utilizing this force, this power at greater
frequency, for the smallest acts, activities, and circumstances of the
day, whereas I am lucky if I remember to open to it once a day!
(pause) If we examine
Star Wars we see the same thing at work in a work of fiction. When Luke
opened to the force in Star Wars, he was able to get an immediate
answer to his opening. Life responded immediately! Circumstances seemed
to change, fortune seemed to change, openings seemed to come from
out of nowhere. And as we said, related situations on the home
planet also simultaneously changed. Time and space were overcome; all
logic was overcome. It's a different way of functioning in the world.
What is it about this
force and its ability to bring better circumstance to attract truth, to
gain the cooperation of life? As I sat there stupefied at the end of the
class I contemplated this fact.
There are endless
examples I have experienced or known others to experience. One
individual who was shown to have a spot on her breast, opened to the
force, and when the doctor reexamined the chart, the spot had
disappeared!
There are countless
examples of people who were ill and opened to the force and the illness
disappeared. Countless examples where individuals were in difficult
predicaments and the predicaments suddenly vanished. Where money
problems evaporated. Where people's difficult struggle to find work or a
better position, suddenly turned positive, with life responding with new
opportunities. Things lost are miraculously found. People suddenly
appear on the scene who can be of benefit in a situation where before
there was no one to help. Even things that were established as done and
complete, are undone! How is this possible? But it is, it is! The
example are endless. Each opened to the force at some point in the
situation, and saw the situation change dramatically; often in startling
and miraculous ways.
So each of us can do the
same. Whenever we begin an important event, we can open to this power,
and see things work better. Whenever there is a difficulty, one can open
to this power and see things turn around.
One need not be part of
some religion or group. The power is there now, free to everyone. One
needs to access it in our lives. If we see it work once, then we
understand and feel it in our bones. But until we try my words are just
words to the reader.
All we ask is that the
reader try to open to the power before undertaking something or in a
difficult situation, and then if successful, thereafter make it the
smallest discipline to open to this power at least once or twice a day.
One's life will be forever changed for the better! Negative things will
be constantly turned to positive; life will be filled with greater
successes, greater joy at witnessing the results, greater energy
released as a result of the joy, and perhaps most important, a spiritual
connection to something great, which gives us meaning and fulfillment in
life.
Growth Online:
Couldn't one say that isn't this a power that we have seen elsewhere in
the world, through faith, through spiritual connection, through
religious experience.
RP: Again the
answer is yes on the surface, but if we look a little deeper or
scientifically examine the resulting experiences there is something
quite different here.
Let me explain. Although
the force carries within itself the spiritual power of the universe that
exists when people have spiritual experiences, it has properties or
attributes that are unprecedented in its functioning. For example,
people have experienced down through time peace, bliss, happiness in
spiritual contemplation, meditation, and prayer. Occasionally there is
even an answer to a prayer. But there are experiences, functionings, and
results here, that if we were scientifically honest, indicate something
very different, something radically new.
For instance. One of the
attributes of this force, this consciousness, also called the "Truth
Consciousness" by Sri Aurobindo and The Mother is how it creates unity
and harmony. For example, normally when we act we do so because we have
a knowledge of what is to be done, and we also have the will
to carry it out. In order for us to do the thing then we need to have
both knowledge and will. So someone tells me about something; so now
I have the knowledge of it. I still need to develop the will to see it
though and act on it. However, when one opens to this Truth
Consciousness, the force, knowledge and will come together.
There is a sense of what the thing is, that is the knowledge, and a
corresponding will in the being to carry it out. Knowledge and will are
fused! With the force, the Truth Consciousness, functionings that are
normally separate, such as the need to have both knowledge and will to
perfectly carry out some activity, are fused together. This must lead to
the rapid perfection of life!
There is more to this
than just perfecting experiences or daily activities. There can also be
a shift in one's nature. The force
is not just an entity outside us. It also has the power to transform our
own nature, overcoming our own limited capacities, attitudes, skills,
awareness, energy level, and so forth. It can even eliminate illness,
and perhaps one day death itself.
Eventually an individual
can begin to operate fully from the poise of the force. After awhile a
person is not only utilizing this force, but he becomes transformed
himself to the point that he becomes an agent of the force. He
in essence becomes a "Truth Consciousness being." Everything he does,
perceives, acts on has a sense of harmony in it, and ends in success,
because there is the full knowledge, the integral truth of the situation
that he comes in contact with. He has the knowledge, he gains access to
the full truth, he knows what to do, what actions to take, what to
avoid. He is in sync with the rhythms of all that is around him, of all
those individuals around him.
This is why this force
is also referred to as the "Truth Consciousness" because the force
connects the individual to the whole integral truth of a
situation, enabling him to know the full truth, gain the full knowledge,
have the clear will, take the right action. Sometimes all of these at
the very same instant.
It is obviously a
mechanism beyond our current mental functioning, and even suggest that
in the future we could function in a state beyond mind!
Sri Aurobindo envisioned
a world where individuals are constantly living in this new life of
rhythm and harmony. It is not just regular people like you and me
occasionally opening up to the force when we were in dire needs, but the
emergence of a new type of individual, who lived in these
tremendous rhythms in life. This is a whole other way of functioning in
the world.
So they believed that if
there were enough individuals who could operate in this matter, then we
could even see the development of a whole new type of humanity, perhaps
even a new species. A new humanity living in harmony with all the
rhythms of life. A humanity that could accomplish at levels a hundred or
a thousand times what was possible in the past. A new collective life
could emerge, consisting of individuals who had been transformed into a
new type of person.
This is a fantastic world
we are speaking of here; a functioning so utterly different from the
current human functioning. This new being will be a different from the
current human, as the current human is from a monkey!
But we believe this way
of functioning is the destiny of the human race. To use the same force
that compelled the formation of the universe in our own daily lives. To
use it in our own personal growth, development, and evolution; from our
current weakness, ignorance, and falsehood, to greater states of
perfection. To use it for ourselves, and in our jobs. To use in the
institutions we partake in, our businesses, our community, our
government, in any aspect of society.
Eventually a new life on
earth takes hold. At that point the possibilities of what may be in a
world inhabited by this spiritualized humanity is infinite, and beyond
all comprehension.
Growth Online: I see
that we can become divine creatures; but how can the average individual
begin to use this force?
RP: Yes, of course, we
must start somewhere!
I would suggest that we
begin by making an experiment, to verify the workings of this force.
Once we do that, it will become real to ourselves, and then we might
want to go further.
You remember my story of
the class I conducted; the one that went from disaster to utter harmony.
The technique I used in this situation was but one of many techniques
one can use to get in touch and utilize this force. We call this
particular technique "consecration." Here's how it works. Take any
important situation or circumstance or event in you life. Before the
event still yourself and opens yourself to the force. Call it into the
situation Then commence the activity, do it, and evaluate in the course
of the event or thereafter the effect. See if there was any change. If
you feel the change once it will inspire you to do it again.
After a while you begin
to see that your life is changing as a result. New vistas will open in
your life that weren't there before.
This might in turn
further compel you to reexamine your own self, your own limitations, and
make efforts to overcome your own weaknesses and limited capacities. It
is after all in a better vessel that the force can pour itself, and the
workings of the force can be most easily perceived. While Yoda teaches
Luke about the fore, he is also teaching him other things about his
limited nature, his attitudes, his passions, his knowledge in the
world.
When you bring in the
force you are also limited to your capacity to absorb it; you are
limited somewhat by your own limitations as a person. Mind you the
consecration is still likely to work no matter what type of person you
are, but it seems to work best for people who are making parallel
efforts at improving themselves, their capacities and character in
life. So at Growth Online we suggest many approaches. Among them are --
changing your negative attitudes, learning new skills, improving your
level of organization, utilizing your personal values, increasing your
energy, how to grow by giving, understanding the hidden currents and
patterns of life, and understanding the forces that are in play when
trying to accomplish in life. These can certainly elevate you from your
current status.
The force is everywhere
around us if we could perceive it; if we have the will to include it in
our lives. We can use it to overcome our problems, overcome illness and
disease, increase our levels of accomplishment and success, and
transform the weaknesses of our nature.
So when you are in a
difficult situation open yourself to this force and ask this force to
come into the situation. before you commence an important activity open
yourself to this force and ask it to come into the activity. If you are
ill call the force into your being. When you have an aspiration to
improve your situation, such as wanting to get a better job position or
better pay, call the force into the situation. If you want to improve
some part of your being, for example a limiting attitude, or bad habit,
or a lack of knowledge or understanding, ask the force to come the
situation.
So a life where one
utilizes this fantastic power can lead to infinitely greater success and
accomplishment as well as a new level of unending joy and happiness.
It's also an overwhelming joy to see, and feel, and experience this
force at work in our lives. Who wouldn't want to live a life of endless
miracles!
