How We Relate to Money

Money as Universal Force of Infinite Power
We relate to money as a thing, like a rock or any material object. Our perception is shaded by our ability to earn it, or to present conditions weighing on us, and other factors that seem beyond our control. But that is not what money is. Rather it is a force, a universal power that is infinite in its scope and possibility.

When we move out of our smallness, possessiveness, and selfishness, and open to that wider field, we become instruments for the flow of that money power into our lives.

Wealth Comes from Within; Based on Human Value
All wealth comes from inner status, but we perceive it as the status accorded by wealth from outer work. The wealth of someone is based on and is proportionate to his own perception of human value. (MSS)

On the Nature of Prosperity

-Prosperity is not moral or ethical; it can go to the robber baron or the ruthless.

-It comes from organization of power.

-It is not to be shunned.

-It reduces ignorance and illness, and provides, supports freedom.

-It issues from industry, responsibility, honesty, organization, common sense, and alertness in life.

-It is energy organized.

-It is indispensible for health, education, and happiness.

-It rises in scale of human values.

-Its greatest results issue out of spirituality.

-It can destroy peace of mind, whereas Spiritual Prosperity cannot.

-It reaches a point where it can self-multiply.

-It enables nations to lead the world.

-It promotes domestic peace.

Money and Our Inner Status

What every successful individual has learnt is that money does not come from outside but from one's inner status that attracts the outer. (Paraphrase of MSS)

Money Value
-Mentally humans are slaves of money.  
-One who does not focus his value on money, can possess it; while one who values it is possessed by it.
-The highest medium through which money can pass for the highest growth is the consciousness of man who is not possessed by money.
-The highest consciousness an individual can have to attract the greatest amount of money is the consciousness of not being possessed by it. (MSS)

Vital Reactions and Money
When issues of money arise, the vital/emotional ego gets engaged. Few men are immune from reacting this way from any pressures that come to one that relates to money. The deeper one's consciousness, the more one can act from calm, where the ego, and its irrational behaviors, limiting attitudes, get engaged. If centered deeper still the pressures turn into good fortune and opportunities.

Beyond Mere Money Desire
Mere money desire without consideration of other human or spiritual values is certainly harmful. Money is a means, not an end. It is a universal power of life that can be used to uplift it; or for selfish and egotistic purposes to create harm. Lack of money is a great problem for so many on earth. Being attached to it, is a problem for others.

[The methods I have listed here for those whose intentions with money are wholesome and pure: for good people who have had trouble bringing enough money into their lives, or who have run into serious debt, or are dealing with a financial issue, or are trying to improve their lot in life, or are engaged in business, etc. Mere money desire without consideration of other human or spiritual values is certainly harmful. Overview

Subtle Methods of Attracting Money
Most of us are aware of the importance of hard work, determination, and drive to attract money. However, there are also other, more hidden and subtle ways to attract money, wealth, and prosperity. When followed, these methods have a tendency to instantly attract money from seemingly out of nowhere, defying our normal notions of cause and effect, and what is logical and possible. Such sudden and abundant results are indications of the wondrous phenomenon of "life response" at work.

On Attracting Money
One attracts money by giving it greater attention (e.g. keep all accounts up to date); by paying off all debts as soon as one can possibly do it; by circulating it, rather than hording it; by increasing the level of orderliness and cleanliness around one; by speaking softly in a low voice and with few words; by changing a negative attitude that is in opposition to one's success; by moving from tightness to generosity; by making the necessary and required physical and psychological effort; and by refraining from engaging in activities that deplete one's energies, amongst other methods. Such inner and outer movement cause life to respond -- positively, abundantly, quickly, and miraculously, as good fortune or direct monetary increase, coming from seemingly out of nowhere, defying logic, and all common notions of cause and effect, and space and time.

-A web site owner was hesitant to move up to a better web site because of the added expense, even though the required funds were available. The web host provider had suggested the better site a number of times. When the web site owner finally overcame his reluctance to spend, he discovered to his surprise that the web host provider had suddenly the day before begun offering this better site at a cost almost the same as his current site. -An instructor had not been contacted for new work for weeks, and was in desperate straits. He decided to apply the idea of cleanliness. His apartment was normally quite clean, but he wanted to take cleanliness a step further. He decided to clean his refrigerator, something he was reluctant to do. At the exact moment he finished putting things back into the refrigerator after cleaning, he heard a message on his answering machine from the his training company offering him new work. The response from life was instantaneous! Here are basic strategies for attracting money:

Generating Prosperity

1. Be a hard worker and persist with the hard work till the work gets completed.

2. Whatever be the work you do, do it in an organised manner.

3. In the essentials of the work be self-reliant. That is do not depend on others and ask for their help for doing those aspects of the work that one can do by oneself.

4. Do not impose non-work conditions or attitudes on the work. Set aside prestige, convenience and expectation and be fully absorbed in the requirements on the work at the moment.

5. If there are debts one must give top priority to clearing the debts when the income arrives.

6. One must be successful with the work on hand before thinking of moving on to bigger assignments.

7. No time or space should be wasted. Neither money or material should be wasted. Keep accounts up-to-date and perfect, accounting accurately for even the smallest amounts expended or earned.

8. Do not react or lose one's temper due to irritation. By losing temper one loses energy. Retain calm and composure at all times.

9. Practice Silent-Will.

10. Maintain absolute cleanliness and orderliness.

11. Speak always in a soft voice, just loud enough to be heard, no louder.

12. Refrain from taking initiatives out of impatience and greed.

13. Non-initiative: Do not seek help in doing what you can do for yourself. Do not ask for or accept help where you are capable of doing it yourself or where it is not the other's obligation to give. What is offered unasked is valuable.

14. Establish and maintain perfect harmony in your relationships with other people.

Why the Not So Good Attract Wealth and Comfort
M asks why not-too-good or even bad people are flooded with money and comforts, often coming as powerful response from life.

In one sense, life is not moral -- i.e. simple good for good, bad for bad -- but is ''amoral"¯ and neutral, which takes in a variety of factors in determining whether it will respond in one's favor. E.g., life responds not only to goodness, but also to STRENGTH. Rich people often are strong, and life responds positively to that strength. The energy they release outweighs the negative, so life responds positively for them. On the other hand, if they lose their strength and will, there is likely to be a steep fall downward! Also, if they have been negative, they will incur the wrath of karma one way or another down the line in other dimensions of life or through the wealth itself.

We know that money and comforts are not the goal of life. They are the means to higher things. If all the not-so-good or bad people have is Money and Comfort -- i.e. they are devoid of true happiness and fulfillment -- then they will have gotten what they deserved!

In addition, these individuals often know the processes that attract money; not only how to outwardly earn it, but sense semi or subconsciously the subtle, hidden laws that govern and attract it.  We know that life responds to following the process of creation -- i.e. having a vision of a thing, intense will to have it come about, organizing the details, and executing in a timely way with high skills. One can be a good or bad person to follow that process. Universal Life is neutral and amoral and thus responds to such neutral factors. Of course, if they bring negatives, it will come out somewhere, whether in another domain (e.g. with family, or reputation, or respect) or through problems of the wealth itself. Karma is real.

Strength, knowing the process of creation and accomplishment, high energy, drive, skills, etc. attract. Anyone can have them -- good, bad, or in between. But Genuine Fulfillment comes through the adoption of Truth, integrity, and other high values when pursuing money. The spiritual person aims not to possess wealth, resources, etc. but to go after it for the sake of others, so it can spread to the collective, so that humanity can use it for the highest of purposes. Sri Aurobindo and The Mother say Money is in the hands of the Asura (dark forces), and we must win it back for the Divine through our high consciousness. If we also bring strength, power, energy, drive, and vision to bear, then we will attract staggering positive results, which we will experience as profound Joy and Everlasting Fulfillment.

Attitudes of Those with Perennial Money Problems
Generally, those who have perennial money difficulties will have the following attitudes: 1) As soon as some cash comes in, they will spend it on some new want of theirs, 2) they will pay off more pressing debts than the one for which it is earmarked, 3) any cleverer person around will take off the money. Withdrawing Attachment that Attracts Money
When one takes care of the details of money, yet withdraw the emotional attachment or bother related to it, money suddenly flows in your direction.

Money Power that Comes through Trust and Detachment
People are beginning to understand that the journey is the reward. That can be interpreted in one sense is that the things you accomplish is all important, not the money. I.e. the money will follow if you focus intently on what needs to be done to lift up yourself, the world.

E.g., the more you innovate and catch the emerging waves of society, the more money will follow in the wake of your efforts. Silicon Valley companies like Apple and Google are examples. They just want to change the world through innovative, breakthrough products and service in the computer and Internet domains. As a result, money follows them in buckets! They are garnering infinite-like cash on hand without any long-term debt. It shows the emergence of self-multiplication power of money in society.

Money is a power of trust. The more trust, the more it circulates. The banking system is one example when they lend out money. One extension of this trust power is the availability of micro credits to poor women in Asia. Money's ultimate power comes through ultimate trust. When we connect to the deepest realms within, and thereby move away from ego and separateness, we enable the greatest trust. I.e., we have the trust of the divine in action. In between, many stages and manifestation of trust will appear in society. Those who tap into that will prosper beyond their wildest dreams.

Money comes to those not attached to it. Man is mostly a slave to it. It is mostly in the hands of dark forces, but that is changing. We can overcome the situation by changing our consciousness, including our relation to and view of money.

Money is a vast social power that the world misses. If we align ourselves with that emerging social power, we align with the infinite money potential.

Attention
It is a basic law of life that everything -- whether it is a physical object or a human being -- responds to greater attention. Money is no exception. Perhaps the simplest and most dramatic way to attract money is to raise your level of physical cleanliness at home or at work. Many individuals and businesses have followed this practice, and seen money suddenly rush in from all sides, often from the most unlikely sources!

-An instructor had not been contacted for new work for weeks, and was in desperate straits. He decided to apply the principle of higher cleanliness. His apartment was normally clean, but he wanted to take cleanliness a step further. So he decided to clean his refrigerator; something he was ordinarily reluctant to do. At the exact moment he finished putting the foodstuffs back into the refrigerator after the cleaning, he heard a message on his answering machine from his training company offering him abundant new work. The response from life was instantaneous to the completion of the cleaning!

-A consultant suggested that before he made any business recommendations to his client that they immediately clean up their showroom and backyard area. Time passed. Inner and Outer Organization

From Deficit to Surplus through Outer and Inner Organization

The issue of why we are so often in a state of financial deficit – individually and collectively, was raised, and so I responded as follows:

We see that when we look around in the world, the first rule of life is Freedom. One way of thinking of freedom is that it is expansion in all direction. For we humans, money expresses that expansive Freedom. In these times that wild, unruly expansion of money freedom expresses in a thousand different ways – through imbalances, inflation, speculation, etc. In essence, there is lack of the counterbalancing force of Organization.

Organization is internal and external. External it can be viewed as why in the economy do expenses grow and income seem not enough. In the US income has been utterly flat for 20 years, while expenses continued to rise. The media speaks about hyper spending, when hardly anyone speaks of deficient income due to lack of required individual skills in this Technological age. People want to do the same old work that is less needed in accelerating times. Parallel issues arise about inflation (as in India), stagnation as in Japan, etc. etc. Economists and sociologists can trace all of the global issues and problems related to money. This will all serve Outer Organization. For the individual too, there is practical outer organization, such as keeping accounts up to date, knowing what moneys one has, not exceeding one's bank account, etc.

Inner Organization is psychological, and can expand infinitely further to the spiritual. Example of psychological organization are not being a slave to money, focusing on the process not the reward, overcoming tight-fistedness, being expansive rather than contracting in money affairs, really wanting to achieve something in one’s life instead of being indolent, applying deep personal values to the work, and so forth.

Spiritual methods of inner organization include  being self-giving, wishing the best for others, service in one's works (i.e. higher values), and so forth, -- culminating in offering any work to Her, and then self-surrendering our entire lives, our very existence for the Divine’s Sake, for the Divine Mother’s Intent.

Obviously society and we too have a long way to go!

Relative to money, we can move forward FROM WHERE WE ARE NOW; from the point at which we are prepared to make the inner and outer organizational change.

Recently, I made a little experiment, and traced all sales created in a new enterprise, where each order brought substantial money. In each case, I was able to identify several of the inner (psychological and spiritual) and outer movement that attracted that money result. Now I had the knowledge of which issues to change in myself relative to money in future, which if implemented will overcome any imbalance of funds in my life. Learning from the experience, and practicing it diligently will enable me to cross over from deficit existence to substantial surplus, as a devotee should be.

The original movement of Life is an expansive one. One way it expresses is wanting more money, as it gives us life power. There is nothing inherently wrong with that. Except it is not Organized -- in our outer acts and in our inner consciousness -- which are the counterbalancing forces that harness its infinite power.

In society and in our own lives we can thus discover the inner and outer organization that will attract money and make it expand infinitely, enabling any Deficit to reverse and become tremendous Surplus.

 

Paying Off Debts Attracts Money

Long-term Debt Owed
Very often those who suffer from money problems have borrowed in the past and have forgotten to repay, even when they had the opportunity to do so. 

One individual owed a friend money for over twenty years. An instance after he committed to paying off the old debt, he received news that he had been offered a better place to live, after having lived in the same cramped apartment for over twenty years! In addition, he experienced a sudden surge in his workload, which included higher-paying type work.

We see from this example how very important it is that you pay off old outstanding debts. Not doing so may very well prevent you from ever moving beyond your current situation.

Life Response of Paying off a Due Debt
Suppose someone has debts from forty people totaling Rs 87 lakhs and he is now faced with an emergency of a serious type for three lakhs of rupees, his getting that amount is not possible. When someone offers him that money on an understanding that the next collection will pay it off, the temptation is not to repay it but to meet earlier emergencies. What is involved is not money only. It is the personality. Should the person pay off whatever little amount he gets towards the promised payment, all his 87 lakhs will soon be paid off.

If you vow to return the money as you promised to yourself, your personality gets strengthened and attracts more money. In no time, all the Rs 87 lakhs of debt dissolves. (MSS)

Very few people realise the full spiritual value of completely discharging their duties. Man acts freely as long as he is not checked by social pressure. If you are spiritually perceptive, take a list of every one of your works that stalls, stalls for week or years. Exercise your memory painstakingly. You will come upon the exact act you have done to someone. Almost all the details will tally. Now regret having done it. At once the present block will be removed.

Hundreds of devotees have this experience. Only that they do not like it even after getting the result. Acts have life. Willful acts have virulent life. Mind, if it is understanding or good, has the capacity to reverse the old movement.

A family was ruined. They had a few hundred creditors. Imagine the daily harassment. Eight years ago they came to Mother. New comforts arise, but old tortures remain. It took them time to realise this rule of the effective past life. They understood, but were incapable of fully reversing in their minds the old acts. Vast opportunities arose on the horizon. But they stand outside the door. Much of their gruesome suffering is relieved. But creditors, their calls, their visits, their harassment are a nightmare. Mother has reduced the hundred events to ten. Even one is enough to shatter a man. Many good things happened in the family, but the little tortures remain unremoved. The boy got a job on a good salary. The family needs every rupee urgently. But from his first salary, he voluntarily sent the bank an installment of his educational loan. It is spiritual wisdom. The Unregenerate Vital Nature that Does Not Want to Pay
Love gives. It cannot take. It can only give. Maybe, "Man takes, he can only take and he cannot give" is an uncharitable statement to make about mankind. At least in our own personal experience, we would have seen one example of such a person. Having read the words of Sri Aurobindo about the unregenerate vital not wanting to be under an obligation, I began to collect evidences for it from my readings of history and literature.

During the course of my research, I came across precious examples in life and in literature for another principle with which this article opens. My main focus was how much I am qualified under these rules, how unregenerate my vital is and how unwilling I have been to pay where payment was due. It was instructive.

Someone suffering an incurable disease came across another person in whom she developed a hope. She offered half her property to him. In half an hour of conversation, her hopes rose and she offered all her property. She was cured. Rather, she was transformed from the ghost she was to a girl of good looks. Her offer was no longer in the air.

A man entrusted a friend with all his money. The friend invested it and raised it to a value of 30 times in 18 months. It never occurred to the man that the friend could also be given a trifle out of the good fortune he had created. Two rich men bought a large coffee estate together. One man paid his share. The other man did not.

The buyer did not ask for the payment. The seller did not pay, nor did he give a receipt for the money for five years. It is inconceivable, but I was a witness to it. I can write here up to 15 such instances directly from the events I experienced or was a witness to. Conan Doyle wrote 56 short stories and 4 novels with Sherlock Holmes as the hero. It seems he made an experiment of his work to study this principle in life. Holmes never asks for payment. No one paid him, but everyone, before the work was over, copiously promised to pay.

A Lord came representing the throne and assured his payment, but never paid. A gold king asked him to burn money if necessary, but never paid. A poor girl offered to pay if she got her property. She got it but never paid. The police took Holmes' help but would not even pay his expenses.

An Austrian King and a Duke from whom Holmes demanded payment paid. A banker lost a crown and offered to pay its whole value, but never mentioned payment on its recovery. Sri Aurobindo says it never occurs to Man that a payment is due for service rendered or goods received. Love that is incapable of taking expresses through the mind or body. The body is physical and is possessive.

Even when the body expresses DIVINE LOVE that cannot take, in the beginning it wants to take for a period before it starts giving. If you see someone coming forward to pay AFTER the work is over and without being asked, you can be sure he is NOT physical. Yoga is to move from Mind to Supermind. There is the necessity for some of us to move from the vital to the mental. A few people may find themselves in the physical. They too can move. The power of the Force is wherever you are, you will be moved to the top, as in politics when the party wants, a person is moved from anywhere to everywhere. Man does not want to pay is a human reality. (MSS)

Life Remembers Things that We Forget
People defaulting on payments that are due is very common in life. Governments and leaders going back on their promises is also common. What is not so common is a reminder from life that a payment is long due and still rarer is the individual or nation that honours the reminder.

Napoleon the French emperor launched an invasion of Italy in the first decade of 19th century and chose to cross the Alps Mountains in order to reach Italy. Bitter cold and bad weather forced his troops to seek shelter in a Swiss monastery for a few days. The monks and nuns there took good care of the French troops and fed them well and gave them shelter also. When the weather cleared Napoleon thanked the monks for their kindness and promised to repay the expenses they have incurred after his Italian campaign was over. Though he conquered Italy he forgot his promise and there the matter ended.

In 1990 a full 180 years later some French government Officers visited this Swiss monastery and somehow the talk focused on Napoleon and his stay there on route to Italy. The monastic authorities immediately reminded the French officials about Napoleon's promise to repay the expenses they have incurred for feeding his troops and showed some actual bills in writing. The astonished French officials promised to pursue the matter once they went back to Paris. True to their word upon their return they contacted the treasury authorities and showed them those bills and the French government honoured those bills and settled the dues.

They could have easily dismissed the claim as irrelevant now after so many years and so many changes of government and leaders. But they did not and settled the bills. As Mr. Ramesh says acts and transactions have a life of their own and if we act carefully and pay all our dues to all people and activities that have a rightful claim upon us, our personality level will rise considerably and we will progress spiritually also.

My father had a cook who prayed intensely in the 1970s when he seriously fell ill. He recovered from the illness and remarked that it was the cook's prayer that saved his life more than the prayer of anybody else. She was not a good cook anyway and soon afterwards my mother sent her home and employed a new cook who knew proper cooking.

But my father told the cook to come here every month and meet him for five or ten minutes. She used to come on the first of every month and he would pay her 300 or 400 rupees which was a lot of money for a cook in those days. Nobody understood why he was paying a cook who was no longer even cooking for the household. He did not offer any explanation either and continued with this till she died in the year 2000 or so.

In his understanding he owed his recovery from serious illness to her prayer and that was worth all that money. The cook never knew why he kept giving her the monthly payments. While we all forgot what she did to him, he never forgot. To put it correctly, the Mother in him never forgot what he received and the mother in her never remembered what she had done. Both are correct from their point of views. The Mother never remembers what she gives to us for true love gives for the sake of giving without demanding anything in return. The Mother in those who receive her grace never forgets to acknowledge help with gratitude as that is the nature of gratitude. (N. Asokan, MSS)

 

Circulation Attracts Money

Like any force, money needs to move freely in order to sustain itself. Holding back on paying, or otherwise hoarding money, prevents the free flow of energy, and thus the free flow of money. For example, we have seen a number of instances where individuals were unwilling to pay the bills they owed until they first received payments of money due to them. Reversing such an attitude can bring a sudden abundant positive response from life.

A programmer, who had little cash on hand, was unwilling to write out checks for current bills due until he received money owed him from his clients. He had been waiting for a number of days for this payment to come in. He then reversed his attitude, and went ahead and wrote out the checks for the money he owed anyway. When he went to pick up his mail ten minutes later, he was surprised to discover the check he had yearned for in his mailbox.

We have also seen instances where individuals were unwilling to spend their current funds for important necessities. Even when they had plenty of cash on hand, they hoarded it, often because of some unfounded fear. When they reversed themselves, life responded in extraordinary ways.

-A web site owner was hesitant to upgrade to a better web site because of the added expense, even though he had the required funds. The web host provider had suggested the better site a number of times in the past. When the web site owner finally overcame his reluctance to spend, he discovered to his surprise that the web host provider had suddenly, the day before begun offering this better, higher-priced sit, at a cost virtually the same as his current site!

-There was a man who was hesitant to spend money on a deserving friend. When he changed his position and did so, he saw that money came back to him in the exact amount he had spent on his friend!

"inner-outer correspondence"; i.e. life reflects on the outside your psychological condition inside within yourself. If you make your feelings or attitudes more positive, such as overcoming an unwillingness to pay a bill or the hoarding of money, life on the outside will respond positively to you in kind.

Money Should Circulate
For the individual who is of an expansive nature, is living the higher life, the more money he spends, the more will inflow. Hording only stifles flow and circulation that prevents wealth and prosperity in life. For a miser, who wishes to become rich, the opposite may be true; hoarding makes him rich, but he is a miserable rich.

A willingness to spend saves money.

Not only individuals, but the peoples of the nations of the world need to circulate their money; i.e. not horde it, to eliminate energy blockage, and to enable its multiplier effect to take root.

Spending Liberally Attracts Boom In Income
One endowed with the wisdom of common sense who re-orients his present expenses on the right priorities as liberally as his circumstances permit, will witness a boom in his income.

In delaying difficult payments and in meeting the expenses urgently required on hand, there is deceit as we take advantage of the creditor who is indulgent and we INDULGE our own preferences. Liberal right spending removes the blot of deceit from our character. When you spend liberally on what is due, the recipient is rightly exulting, thus releasing a spiritual power in him.

Collect Sums Owed; Overcome Neglected Duties Attracts

It is also important to collect all money owed to you, including the minutest of sums sum. If you do so, money will suddenly come to you from all directions.

-An individual understood that one should not neglect collecting even the smallest amount owed to one. He then decided to practice it CONSCIOUSLY, and see for himself what would happen. So he collected even the smallest amounts due to him from others (such as 10 cents and 20 cents!). After he successfully collected on these, in the following few days he received Rs.300,000 ($7,500) for various receipts coming from unexpected sources.

-An individual had exhausted his bank account. He was in desperate straits. He remembered that if you collect every penny still due to you, money can come. He then contacted the sole debt he had on his books, which went back nearly six years! He contacted that person to secure the payment. The next morning he received a most unexpected purchase and payment from another source that instantly resolved his quandary.

Taking Care of Neglected Duties
There are circumstances where money will not come your way until you take care of neglected areas of your life. Once you give those areas the attention they deserve, money or other good fortune can instantaneously come your way.

A payment for new services rendered was anticipated by a software company, but got delayed for various technical reason. The individual in charge remembered that several older clients had still not sent their payment. He had neglected to stay on top of that matter. Now with the current situation of the new potential client, he felt there was a correlation between the receivables he neglected to keep up on and the new payment that was having technical problems coming in. Thus, he immediately contacted both of the older clients that owed receivables to find out their latest status. Instantly, thereafter (literally within seconds of hanging up on the phone with the older clients) the money for the new client properly cleared and came in.

A Life Response Money Day
Today was a "Life Response Money Day."  I received an amount equal to 2/3 of a month's worth of $ remuneration in five minutes. How did this response from life occur?

 Part 1:  I thought about the idea of how difficult it is to shift from the work we like to do, e.g.  writing or organizing or performing our normally perceived important tasks -- vs. something one might not be so eager to do, such as emptying the dishwasher. I thought that our ability to accept the givens of life is based on our attitudes about such things. When we have the right attitude, we tend to do that work energetically and joyfully.

 Then I wondered how can one get to this state of right attitude of doing what life puts before you, no matter how small, or seemingly less important relative to what we were doing earlier. I.e. I was wondering what my condition should be so that I have the right attitude, and more easily make the transition from an important thing to the perceived lesser one.

I once again remembered Sri Aurobindo's claim that when we live in the depths of our being, from a deeper poise within, we tend to be One with the world around us -- i.e. we have the wherewithal to perceive the multiplicity of things occurring in the environment, and we are more in tune with the needs and interests of others. I thought I could apply this principle and approach to doing the things we are reluctant to take on. I.e. if we are centered in a deeper poise, it will be much easier to shift from one task to another, no matter what their perceived relative importance. I did not actually apply this approach at that moment, but merely thought about it.

A minute later, I checked my computer and from out of nowhere I received an order equal to a 1/3 of my $ remunerations for the entire month. It was a stunning development for me. Then I saw the connection between my aspiration to discover what it is I can do to more permanently overcome the attitude of reluctance, and the instantaneous response of life through the unexpected arrival of large sum of money.

Part 2:  (3 minutes later) Then I thought, why not be brave and check the status of another bill that is well overdue. Rather than wait to be informed of the result - i.e. what the customer had lately intended to do or was doing on the matter -- I decided to take action and see what has actually transpired through my bank account, since the client has not responded to me in the way I had hoped.

As I was checking my account, I decided that I will open to the spiritual Force. In this particular case, as the very moment rolled around, I was a little afraid that the response I had hoped for would not come through my consecrated effort, and therefore I would lose a tiny bit of faith. Then I controlled my doubt, blocked out everything else, and held deeply within my thought of the Divine Mother. I was then informed over the phone that the long-delayed funds has suddenly arrived.  Voila!

Now within 5 minutes I drew a considerable amount of money through an inner effort. Out of nothing, I had created everything I hoped for. Through inner psychological and spiritual effort, I instantaneously changed the course of events around me.

I was reminded again of the power we have within to change the world around us.  When we concentrate that effort, life responds from all quarters!

 

Taking Higher Attitude Attracts Money in the Same or Another Area

Often when you change an attitude or otherwise raise your consciousness in one area, it can attract money in the same or a related area.

Cosmic Accounting 
Whenever we move our consciousness to a higher level, life responds to that effort. Whether it involves a small or great matter, sudden good fortune will arrive in response to any movement to the positive.

Today I had my eyes examined for the first time in seven years at Lenscrafters. Like going to the dentist, people do not normally look forward to such events, unless they are compelled to do so -- i.e. when life forces one to change through difficulty, pain, or some other compulsion.

On this occasion, I wanted to pay for service rendered half by credit card and the half through my debit (i.e. bank) card. In essence, I did not want to run up my credit card more than I had to. As it turned out, I was unable to make this arrangement, instead paying $300 via credit and the remaining $100 through debit.

A half hour or so later after returning to my office (with my eyes still dilated and as a result my vision still blurred), I went to my American Express account to see if I could make a compensating payment to offset the extra amount I paid using that credit card at Lenscrafters. Unfortunately, when I tried to access the account, it was unavailable. I took it simply as a sign that my desire to make an additional payment to compensate for overuse of my credit card  was not necessary; i.e. demanded by life. And so I forgot the matter.

However, when I then went to my mailbox, I found an unusual letter. It was from the state informing me that I had some unclaimed money due, which required additional identification papers on my part. As you might have guessed, the amount was virtually the same as the amount I wanted to pay on my credit card account! Life in essence compensated me for my aspiration to draw down on credit card payments by "sending me the balance." It would turn out to be the only other money related matter that came to me by mail or otherwise that day.

As we see, life will respond to any shift in consciousness to the positive; even the most subtle of changes. Because I felt it was the right thing to not overextend my credit card and pay half of Lenscrafters bill via debit card, life itself made up the difference. In essence, by taking a higher order decision based on a practical value, I aligned with conditions that brought the transaction back into balance. Thus, through some cosmic-like accounting, the equilibrium of life was reestablished.

The 1000% Solution
Ever since I purchased my new computer with Windows Vista a year ago, I have been very pleased with its performance. There has been one little quirk however. Every time I start up the computer, it creates a new version of the printer driver through a series of dialogue boxes that I have to click my way through. It was not only an annoyance that occurred every time the system loaded, but it would cause me to have to pick the right driver before I printed any document from the computer.

It turns out that I purchased this printer several months before I purchased my new Vista-based computer. Since Vista generally works best with new hardware and software built for it, the fact that I had these quirks with the pre-Vista printer was not surprising. Still I managed to muddle my way through over the past year. Recently however I decided that it was time to eliminate these minor but annoying quirks by purchasing a new printer that would be fully compatible with Vista.

At the same time there was another situation going on. It turns out that I refer potential project management software clients to a local technology company in my area. They are a fine organization with great expertise and goodwill, but are generally lax in making their payments. It is not that they are unwilling to pay, but they seem to be unable to keep their records up to date. Plus, they seem to have problems communicating necessary information to the right person. In any case, it is always up to me to remind them of the money they owe me. This even after we recently had a lunch meeting where they told me about a new system they were implementing to tackle this very problem! Well it turns out that they owed me a relatively small sum of around $350-$400.

Now back to the printer situation. Recently I made the decision to purchase the new Vista-compatible printer from Amazon, and unload my older printer. I expected the new printer to arrive in about a week to 10 days, but instead it arrived sooner. In fact, when I came home from some chores last night, I was surprised to see the printer delivered at my doorstep. And so that night, though late, I decided to install the printer. After unpacking the box and setting up the hardware, I had serious trouble installing the software. When I ran it from my CD-player, it made a terrible whirring sound, and then five minutes into the installation, it came up with a fatal error message. I restarted and tried again, and it failed once more. That meant that I had to call technical support late into the evening to resolve the problem.

When I spoke with the woman there, it did not seem very promising, as she seemed to be merely following a script. As I was tired, I thought to myself: ''Oh the HP printers just don't work right with Vista, as do many other things."¯ In anguish I even said this to her at one point. Fortunately, she did not react to my cry in the dark, and calmly continued with her work. Skeptical and anguished, I decided at one point to give up all my negative attitudes about the matter, and surrender to her capacity to resolve the problem. She then had me download the software over the Web and install it. Though it took a while, it worked flawlessly. Not too long after, the printer also worked perfectly. Plus, I now had none of those irritating dialogue boxes at startup that plagued me for the past year, nor any of the printing issues related to having multiple drivers. I clearly saw how my reversal from the negative to a right attitude had attracted these positive conditions.

The next morning I got up and then checked my email. It was a message from the company I make referrals to; the one I described above. It was a note from the president, who told me that everyone there had been busy and only now had they gotten around to paying the bill they owed me. That was encouraging. However, when I examined the amount more closely, I saw that it was not for $350-$400, but it was for $3540! I.e. 10 times the original amount! I wondered what was could have caused this, and then saw that the work I had referred them for one of the largest companies in the US had unexpectedly increased tremendously in the last several months!

Instantly I understood the real cause of this extraordinary response. I saw that the vast increase in the amount was directly related to my change of attitude the night before; when I calmed myself, shed my angst and cynicism, and surrendered to the capacity of the technical support person. By shifting from doubt to faith, life responded not only by easily resolving my printer problem, but by attracting a payment the next morning that was 10 times the amount I expected. Life not only fulfilled my aspiration for payment, but exceeded it by 1000%!

1. Raise the level of cleanliness in your home/work to the highest possible level - no compromise. 2. Money responds positively to attention. Start keeping perfectly accurate accounts of every single penny you spend - no exceptions. Perfecting accounting is attention to money. 3. Practice silence: Reduce the loudness of your voice to a bear minimum required for clear communication. Reduce the number of words spoken to the bear minimum required for effective communication. Money is energy. Speech is energy. Speech conserved will come to you as money. (MSS)

 

Generosity, Goodwill Attracts

Breaking a Money Backlog through Self-Givingness

Self-givingness can express in a number of ways. Generosity, whether through one's inner intention or in a physical gesture in life, is an important one. It not only brings positive results to the recipient, including a relationship partner, but to yourself as well. In fact, I had that very experience the other day.

For over a month, money had been piling up for me. Not in what was owed, but in what was due to me. One unpaid amount was for $13k+, another for 5k+, a third for 1k. With every passing day, the receivables were accumulating, while my bank balance was dropping rapidly toward zero. During that time, I hoped and prayed that money would come, but nothing came of it. In fact, each time things seemed to move forward, circumstance would intervene and payments would got delayed. It almost seemed insidious!

Then in the middle of night, I woke up and thought that instead of focusing on myself, I wanted to secure this money because my relationship partner needed it. I sensed that shifting from my needs for the money to her concerns might help the situation. The next morning I went to my online bank statement and was startled to see that the money backlog had finally been broken! An amount due from my ever-increasing receivables had finally been paid; the first major inflow of money in a month! That sum would turn out to benefit both of us.

In this case, I clearly understood that by moving from ego and self, i.e. my needs, to the concerns and desires of another, in this case my partner, I was able to attract positive circumstances for both of us. It was another indicator how inward-oriented self-givingness has a great power to attract positive conditions from life -- giving support, strength, and sustenance to our long-term relationships.

Generosity
Whenever you shift your perspective from yourself to others, energy increases, and conditions for success reveal themselves in the form of sudden and abundant positive life responses. This includes a movement on your part away from stinginess and tightfistedness, and towards generosity. Even the smallest movement in that direction can attract sudden good fortune coming your way, including the attraction of more money.

A somewhat tightfisted man decided to pay for the trip of his friend, who was in a little bit of financial straits. It was something he would not ordinarily do. The next day he received an unexpected payment for an invoice that he did not expect to arrive for quite a while.

(In this event, he perceived the correlation between the overcoming of his tightness and the corresponding positive response from life. In addition, he also noted the trend that the amount he would generously give another was almost precisely equal to the amount that suddenly came back to him thereafter!)

Goodwill and Generosity Too -- A related way to attract sudden good fortune is to feel goodwill and gratitude towards others. One individual inwardly sent goodwill and gratitude to various clients and friends. Soon thereafter, there was an avalanche of good news from them in terms of sales, money, and other forms of good fortune.

Goodwill in Work
Another great way to attract money is having goodwill to others around us as well as the situation and circumstance around us. Better still if there is goodwill in one's work. That will attract the greatest response for money to flow in. Floods of money enter your life if your goodwill flows out in floods. For example, a contract instructor who puts his heart and soul into a class, will see thereafter, perhaps the next day, a sudden rush in his good fortune in the form of more work, more money, more opportunities, etc.

Consider this example of an individual who used an "inner" technique to project goodwill, and the resulting positive responses he got from life as it related to money and success.

One recent morning I sat concentrating to generate an attitude of goodwill to specific people and aspects of work or life that I was related with. During the day, I received a whole series of good news related to the very things I had been concentrating on as well as on some other aspects of work that I wanted to complete but had set aside for the time being as beyond my present capacities to achieve due to shortage of time.

I had been sending goodwill to a client company I was working with and praying their revenues should increase. During the day, they closed a good sized order that had been in doubt.

The previous day I had asked a marketing manager at the company about the progress on a proposed collaboration with another company that could generate big dividends for my client. The manager had said he has not made any progress on the proposal for the last six weeks. During the day, he reported that the other company had contacted him and proposed flying into our city for the first meeting within five days time.

Beyond these responses, there were two encouraging responses from projects I had not been thinking about but were high on the list of priorities for work in the near future. In one case I was seated on the plane exactly across the aisle from the head of a non-profit organization I had met nine years before. During the flight, he introduced himself and expressed serious interest in a development project that we had been wanting to promote but had not found the right agency. His agency would be the ideal candidate. In the other case, a newspaper headline carried information that another project we had been working to promote for the past one year may be well received by the concerned parties.  

Why Money Responds to Goodwill and Self-giving

Karmayogi frequently writes that money comes to those with goodwill who practice self-giving. Why? To understand why, we have to keep in mind that money is not a thing, it is a force. What is the purpose of that force? The purpose is to promote mutually beneficial relationships between human beings -- so people can exchange the fruits of the labor. Money is a force for human interaction and interchange. It enables one person to work hard growing food and exchange it for another person's labor making products or providing services.

Money is like language. It is intended to facilitate human interaction. Imagine a person who says that he will not speak to anyone because he wants to keep all his words to himself. What good is his language to him then? Money is the same. Language grows and becomes valuable only when we relate to other people. The more we try to relate and communicate, the more valuable language is and the more proficient we become in utilizing it. Language has the power to enable a single person to communicate with the whole of humanity. We do not hoard language. We do not try to take away the language of other people. We naturally understand that the more people speak our language, the easier it is for us to communicate. The same is true of money.

Think of money in the same way as a means for communication and fostering positive relations with others. Money grows when we relate positively to other people -- not when we want to take what they have or acquire more than others or feel superior to them -- but when we feel happy that everyone around us prospers and when we take active initiative to promote the prosperity of those we meet. Conscious acts of goodwill and self-giving put us in touch with the universal power of money and attract the force of money to flow toward, in and through us to the world around. The more we feel the urge to give it, the more it comes to us. (MSS)

 

Non-Dependence on Others

Dependence on Others for Prosperity
The real power to attract money in life comes from within one's self, not from an outer dependence on other's support. Developing an inner determination and will to attain, developing one's own strength and fortitude and action derived thereof is what accomplishes; is what attracts money to you in great abundance. With this in mind then consider how dependent of others you are of others for funds, and change that attitude to self-dependency. Note that the power to attract money comes from the psychological thought and feeling that I am the determiner of the fate of my prosperity, not others. Life may immediately respond just from perceiving the truth of this perspective. It will surely respond if one acts sincerely from this point of view.

Dependence on Others
We always hold the power to determine our own destiny. Likewise, the real power to attract money comes from our own self-reliance, determination, and will; not from any dependence on another's help and support. The power to attract money comes from the psychological viewpoint that I am the ultimate determinant of my fate. If this is the case, then consider if you are dependent in others for funds, or similar forms of help, and change your position from one of dependence to self-dependency. Wealth and prosperity will move in your direction.

 

Aligning With the Wider Social Sphere and Power of Money

Aligning with Wider Social Sphere in Our relationship to Money
At the point we see money as benefitting all around us, instead of just ourselves, we become an instrument for money's arrival for ourselves and parties we are related to.

If we can widen ourselves and see money related to us as related to the wider social collective, we are part of, money will flood all the participants.

At each point that we are focused on money, expand the perception to self and selfish motives to wider motives affecting others.

The more we perceive the social power of money and align ourselves with that wider social movement in a given moment, the more we become instruments for its arrival, both for ourselves and the collectives we are part of.

Aligning With the Social Power of Money
We know a variety of ways to bring money to us through sudden good fortune. Greater circulation (i.e. not hording it), paying off one's debts, collecting every penny owed,  being generous, overcoming selfishness, focusing on another's needs, and being calm in the face of a difficult financial matter are but a few ways to attract money out of nowhere.

From another perspective, we attract money by developing a different orientation toward the meaning and purpose of Money itself. Money exists not for mere human consumption or to serve our seperative, individual needs, but for wider social purpose -- including greater social development and progress in the world. At the point where we change our perspective about Money from being a mere means to an end or just a transaction of exchange at the physical level, to it serving a great social purpose and utility at the vital level, we move into harmony with its intent in the world. As a result, we open ourselves to it coming in floods from corresponding points in space and time.

Money is a social power. Its purpose is to serve the wider aspirations and values of the collective life. They in turn serve to fulfill the Higher Purpose of the Infinite consciousness on earth. Each time we tap into Money power through our higher consciousness efforts --s i.e. by making inner, psychological shifts toward the positive -- we become instruments for the Infinite and its purposes. By aligning with Money's Social Power, we not only draw more of it to us, but we fulfill the Divine intention for ever-greater social progress and evolution on earth.

 

Opening to Spirit, the Force Attracts

The Ultimate Solution: Using Spirit
The single most powerful way to attract more money in your life is to use the power of Spirit. If, for example, you open yourself to the Higher Power before commencing an important activity, substantial results -- including more wealth and prosperity -- are likely to quickly and abundantly come your way. Often the results are simply overwhelming!

A woman, who was developing a school for children, was considering the price she was willing to pay her friend to do the work. After a discussion, she secured the somewhat lower price that she had hoped for. She then paid that amount so the work could begin. However, shortly thereafter, she reconsidered, and decided to "offer" the entire situation to the Higher Power. A very short time later, the engineer -- out of gratitude for being able to build a school for children -- volunteered to return all of the money he charged!

If you open to the higher spiritual power before starting an event, or when in the midst of a situation, life will respond dramatically in kind. If you also overcome a wanting attitude, life can respond overwhelming.

Consecrate any transaction related to money. I.e. make it a self-offering to the Divine. The Force will act.

See money as a Divine power, and aspire for its manifestation on earth to bring divine benefits -- to enable Truth and Conscious life in the world.

This is true for the individual, the family, and society. For example, we see how the foundation of the Bennet family in the novel Pride and Prejudice serves them well as they move from their current condition to far greater prosperity at the end of the story.

Power of Values to Earn Money
Earning money is an act, like any other act of winning the elections, passing an exam, etc. The components of an act are energy that comes from interest, goal that gives the direction, organisation from which power issues, and skills that convert that power into results.

Each component goes to decide the quantum of money earned, but the earning itself depends on the harmonious functioning of all these components. None of these components can be missed or supplied in half-measure. When all the components are adequately present and harmoniously functioning, the result, the amount of money earned, is decided by the values of each component. This is so because values are spiritual.

One who is earning Rs.10,000 or 1,00,000 a month can raise that income five fold, if he introduces values at every stage and gently raises them to their maximum. By this approach a company that is marginally losing will at once become marginally profitable. The profits can be raised further by raising the values or organising better or employing any other method the company needs.

There is no work where values do not arise. Attention, organisation, comprehension, integrity, truthfulness, etc. are just a few of the values we know. The list can be endless.

A family presided over by a person whose priority is his own wants practices selfish values. If he decides to meet the needs of all others before meeting his own needs, he practises selfless values. Or, he may decide to practise Self-giving, which means going all out to meet everyone's needs which lie within the ambit of his duty or not. Soon he will witness a burst of income.

Owners of companies taking such an approach will discover the ORDERS for which they have been searching all over, like a needle in a haystack, will start coming on their own.

The majority of people who have started an industry on their own have become bankrupt because they are driven by ambition and are not endowed with the capacities for organisation.

Prosperity involves risk. Adventure is of the Spirit. Security is physical. Bodily labour and physical skill receive the least reward. The higher rewards are reserved for the Spirit.

The higher values of the Spirit, viz. Truthfulness, Honesty, etc. expressed in daily life avoid the risks of venture and offer unfailing success. That way, self-employment removes failure and offers secure wealth. (Paraphrase of MSS)

Confusion, Strain, and Tension that Causes Lacking Funds
Confusion, strain, and tension can bring about lack of funds (money) for an individual or institution. End the confusion, strain, and tension in some manner, and the funds will begin to replenish from seemingly out of nowhere as positive responses from life.

On Lending Money to Another
Money lent to a friend is lost. It is also helps you to lose the friend is the wisdom of the world. Many rediscover this truth in their own experience.

Money is power. Lending to a close friend is a generous act of compassion. Power when extended to another strengthens his hands and naturally leads to his assertion. He takes no initiative to part with that extra dose of power on his own. Necessity makes the lender ask for the money back. Sometimes it is returned. At other times due to bad temperament, the relationship is broken and the money lost.

Compassionate or cultured people are unable to bring themselves to ask for the money and keep quiet. As the money is power and power acts according to its rule, the original act of lending is a generous one and evokes a generous response from life, which brings in very generous return to the lender.

In one case when the receiver felt the full power of money and vulgarly asserted against the lender, the lender vowed NOT to ask for it back. After a few years the entire amount came back unasked. The lender's capacity not to curse the friend inwardly had an even greater beneficial effect. A sum exactly ten times the amount was put into the lender's hand by a friend of his for an investment. In view of the fact that that sum was a thousand-fold his present salary, he was able to appreciate the generosity of Life.

To withhold negative feeling at the physical level of not asking had an effect of positive life response. Withdrawing negative feeling at the emotional level had an even greater affect. A complete withholding of the verify thought or consecrating the thought to spirit would have an ultimate affect. (MSS, somewhat modified, with some addition)

On Overcoming One's Serious Financial Debts

If you regret in your emotions the folly of an earlier act, or reverse your past attitudes now in your understanding and feelings, your debts will fully dissolve, liberating you forever.

In life, acts of folly are irreversible; In Spirit, acts of earlier folly can now be reversed in emotions deeply felt; Spirit corrects physical FACTS by the reversal of TRUE feelings deeply realized. A mountain of debt can dissolve into thin air if there is a mountain of felt emotions regretting it.

Repayment of a debt is a value inherently valuable in itself for prosperity. (MSS)

 

On Money Precision Life Response

[On the subject of how at times the money you spend is exactly equal to the money suddenly coming in as an unexpected response from life]

I have experienced this money precision phenomenon a number of times over the years. Usually it occurs when I overcome a reluctance to spend for another's sake. E.g. being a bit spoiled as a child, I was used to receiving, rather than giving. Later on in life, I would overcome a resistance to spend to purchase a small gift for a friend, especially when funds were low. When I then made that effort, invariably new unexpected funds would come within 24 hours that exactly matched the amount spent, often down to that exact dollar amount!

It has also happened when I (again) overcome a resistance to spend on certain necessities, such as a printer accessory. As soon as I did, funds quickly came back to me in the exact amount -- through an unexpected check in the mail, a credit never anticipated, etc.

There must be some principle of restoration of equilibrium of energies involved (which as Karmayogi has explained is the basis of all life response); but here a corollary relating to precision of money in the exchange and intersection of the energies of the parties involved.

This particular money precision phenomenon must be there in many places in literature, current events, and history if we dig deep enough.

In A's case -- where he accepted a refund where he shouldn't have, thereby attracting a debt in the exact amount -- there was a closely related law of consciousness. It is still the law of equilibrium of consciousness (and therefore energy) that one cannot cross.  We see there that even the slightest alteration, can shift the balance; negatively or positively.

How can we better relate to such precision potential or unfolding in our own lives? Constant consecration moves us to the depths over time, and forges a inward-oriented sense to perceive the subtlest workings of life. Knowing the rules of Life Response adds to it and fills up that Witness Consciousness with the necessary moment to moment subtle Knowledge. Then we are consistently able to make right micro decisions that avoid the problematic and attract the magnificent.

It also touches on another principle of Sri Aurobindo and Karmayogi. That even the infinitesimal can block or evoke the infinity, depending which consciousness --lower or higher -- we bring to bear.

I suppose the Supramental being will have this capacity to perceive and respond to the infinitesimal and bring it to Infinity as second nature.

 

Financial Problems

Methods for Couple to Come Out of Financial Problems

[In response to word that a couple are having trouble coming out of financial problems though they are making sincere efforts to overcome their situation:]

The responses presented here to the dilemma make a lot of sense. My own added view is that this couple might benefit from a comprehensive analysis of their situation. That is, examine their strengths and weaknesses, and then make the effort to elevate the strengths, and hold down the weaknesses. That will release the right energies for life to respond. Consecration will flourish in this atmosphere.

Interestingly, couples, whether in obvious contradiction or not, know each other well enough, and can therefore calmly evaluate the other's qualities, positive and negative. If they practice gentle suggestion, non-reaction, and first make the token change in themselves, they will begin to find a way out.

There are also roads taken by the mind that are not commensurate with their inner growth, and therefore outer progress. One can see if one is going down blind alleys.

A strategic plan is a comprehensive analysis of an organization that leads to a mission and therefore goals, both qualitative and quantitative (i.e. values). If we apply that to two intertwined psychological individuals on the road together, the plan can reveal many positive potentials.

I would also suggest they practice those things that attract money: cleanliness, orderliness, maximum utilization of resources, making efforts to pay off debts, collect every penny owed, soft speech, internal harmony and goodwill, and a quiet, unconfused mind, amongst others.

It would be helpful when any fear or trepidation arises they shift to remembering Mother. They  don't even have to ask Her for benefit; just remember.

If the strategic plan reveals strategies to move forward, one or two can be taken as a token that can be consecrated, and see if life moves. If it does, we now have a powerful clue of how to move forward.

Buying, Investing in "Useful, Cosmic Goods"

These acute human limitations like money greed and obsession are at one level sanctioned by the Divine to allow for the multiplicity of possibility from which Higher Values can emerge. Consumer society is the same at the Social level.

The key is for us to make the transition from the lower to the higher.

E.g. as individuals we can each target a specific lower attitude or value that we embody that we want to evolve into higher ones.

At the collective level a consumer society absorbed in buying and possessing can become a Higher Consumer Society that buys into Mother's infinite ways and values.

One application of this is to use our money to do something great; whether to expand the money for the Divine's sake; or use it to create businesses, organizations, etc. in which Her Values can flow throughout the society. As old-time selfish consumers we will now have the instincts to make use of our money to buy or invest in "Useful, Cosmic Goods."

Also calling in the Spirit will aid us in making these inner transitions, evoking the very best conditions from life.

In addition, if an individual invoking the spiritual Force truly makes the effort to give up the money, status, and material taints, those same vibrations can lessen for the world, having the effect of altering the behavior of the collectives we are a part of -- be it friends, family, community, nation, or world. One aspect of the Facebook social network that few if any have pointed out is that its founder has had little care for monetary gain, only features and benefits for its users. That non-money taint has propelled it to 500 million viewers and growing. In other words, not being a slave to the monetary vibration, while discovering and riding the emerging social wave in our domain, can attract overwhelming success (including infinite-like financial reward). We see this dynamic there at Apple and Google as well, who have huge cash reserves without debt. It is a lesson we can all learn from, and apply in our own business, work, and career.
