The Purpose of Life Life’s purpose is to reveal and embody the Infinite Consciousness and Delight of the Source in infinitely variable forms of Its Force.
The Purpose of Individual Existence
The purpose of existence is
for each soul to make its individual progress beyond its
current limitation to a higher one. And in that process,
pass beyond the bonds of Nature, discover the Truth of Being
in one's self and life, and thereby Delight in the
experience and change.

Our Ultimate Purpose in Life
Some thoughts about our ultimate purpose in life:
-We are here to grow and evolve, while enjoying the
experience of discovery of our higher nature.
-The more conscious we are, the more we understand that
individual purpose.
-We are each here to manifest a certain possibility -- for
our own benefit, for the world's, and for our evolving soul
within.
-Our evolving soul has taken on this birth to learn and grow
from our experiences, even as we learn and grow through the
exigencies of life.
-As we become more conscious, our evolving soul learns from
the experience in its Journey of Discovery through multiple
births, including ours.
-Now only are we individual beings but we are universal, and
even transcendent beings. The more conscious we are, the
more we see our own true purpose, as well as our role in the
universal unfolding of life, which expresses a transcendent
Will behind.
Questions of Life Answered
A friend recently posted
several question about life, and I responded as follows:
Who am I?
You are your outer personality, and you are also your True
Person, your Soul, which seeks to evolve through the
experiences and progress of your outer being.
Why am I here?
For Delight. Delight in discovering your higher nature; of
who you truly are, and what life truly is.
Where is my "soul"?
It is inside in two parts. The first is a spark of the
divine (the Soul all have); the second, a deputy of the
first, is a psychic being, the personal evolving soul that
is journeying through several births and has landed on you
in this one so it can grow from your experiences.
What is my "calling"?
You know that already. Look deeply to discover it.
Who is my "friend?
Being trustful attracts more trusting relationships.
When is my day in the sun?
Seeking days in the sun delays it. It comes when one is
concentrated elsewhere; fully absorbed in and enjoying the
work at hand.
How long is this arduous
journey?
The journey is only arduous to the Ego; to that which
perceives itself separate from the universe and others.
To the True Self and Being, it is TOTAL JOY, as it sees all
things -- good and bad -- as necessary for the unfolding of
your life and the development of your higher consciousness
and status.
Overcoming Our Unique Limitation in the World & Its Affect on Others We each represent a unique limitation, even an impossibility in the world to be solved. To perceive that Limit is to know the aspiration of our Soul, and our Destiny. We can overcome it by changing our nature, and opening to the spiritual Force. If we do, not only will our soul's purpose be fulfilled, not only will we fulfill our destiny, but it will vibrate out and affect others who have similar propensities.

Availability of Spirituality for this Who Have the
Call, the Aspiration for It -There was a time when spirituality was meant for one who
could go to the forest, sleep on a bed of nails, etc. Now
since 1956 when the Force descended, the right to enjoy a
higher spirituality is waiting at the door of everyone,
provided he has aspiration. By aspiration it means the

Our Individual and Universal Purpose
Normally we consider God
as something distant and
apart from ourselves.
Rarely do we think of
the Divine as immanent
in the world, let alone
evolving in the
universe. To address this issue, let us begin with a bit of metaphysics. The ultimate conception of existence is an omnipresent Reality that exists in all planes -- from an Infinite consciousness 'above' in the Unmanifest down through matter, life, and mind in the manifest universe. This Reality -- this ultimate conception of what is contained in all planes Unmanifest and Manifest -- is known as 'Brahman' in the East and 'The Absolute' in the West. Most will settle for 'God,' though that conception can be quite limiting. But how then is this omnipresent Reality; this God, Brahman, Absolute evolving? To answer that question, we need to understand the 'Process of Creation.' To begin with there is an ineffable, immutable, infinite consciousness that always was, is, and always will be. It is the Reality in its first stage; before creation. This Infinite has then extended itself into a field of manifest entities. It extended its own infinite being, consciousness, and delight into a universal field of distinct forces and forms. To do so, it rendered a creating plane of Truth Consciousness, and from it, formulated the dividing capacity of Mind, through which emerged the Energies that are the source of all forces and distinct material life forms in space and time. This second movement can be thought of as the Involutionary process. Thus in the first stage there is a decent/involution from an Infinite consciousness to Supermind, Mind, and then Energy; and a second stage of ascent/evolution in the universe from Energy to Matter to Life and Life Forms to Mind, the latter expressing mainly through we human beings. The Reality is then all of the
planes of the involutionary and evolutionary processes
together. Brahman/The Reality/God, is not only timeless,
spaceless being, but extended Itself to forms of its Force
in creation. In other words Brahman, God, the Reality also
became this life. It is thus the Unmanifest and Manifest,
and their integral relationship. This is the ultimate
conception of Reality afforded to Man. Moreover, since we humans in the
universe are an extension of that Reality, and since we are
evolving, then God the Divine, Brahman, the Absolute Reality
is evolving as well. As we bring higher consciousness to
bear in our lives, we evolve, as does God the Infinite. As
we become more conscious -- overcoming our personal
limitations and wanting qualities; find our spirit and soul
within; commune with the transcendent Divine, bring
the that Higher Power into the details of our lives -- we
not only uplift ourselves and life, but enable the Reality
itself to evolve through creation. We are then the instrument of God's evolution. As we evolve, so does the Reality, Brahman, which is in and of every and all things. When we connect to our higher nature, we serve the evolution of the Reality, as it seeks to render its own spiritual attributes of Silence, Oneness, Truth, Wisdom, Power, Love, Beauty, and Delight into this universe of forms.

Nature and Purpose of Spirit Sri Aurobindo, the Indian sage and seer says that
spirituality is an awakening to the inner reality of our
being, to a spirit, to the true self, to the soul within, in
order that we may be able to enter into contact with the
greater Spiritual Reality. Connecting to the Spiritual Reality, the Being is
accomplished by establishing a connection within yourself to
your deepest parts, to your soul parts. By connecting
within, finding the spirit there, the Being within you,
enables not only the experience of one's own soul space but
readily connects you with the greater ocean of spirit
contained in the Divine reality. The Divine created this universe in the first place, to extend his powers in life so that these spiritual attributes and powers can be utilized by all of the inhabitants of the globe; including Peace, Power, Strength, Delight, Love, Beauty, Knowledge, Truth, and others.
Changing Human
Life
For there to be change in human life, there needs to be a
corresponding change in human nature. Light, Freedom, Immortality Sri Aurobindo in the chapter 'The Human
Aspiration' of
The Life Divine says that Man's deepest
aspiration is for God, Light, Freedom, and Immortality.
Light we can say is the ultimate possibilities/the infinity
of the
Mind to perceive endless prospects and ultimate
truths of existence. Freedom is the ultimate
possibilities/the infinity of the
Soul which enables us to become anything we
choose. Immortality is the ultimate possibilities/the
infinity of the
Body, which enables us to live physically in
this life forever without the need for further rebirth. Aspiration as Our Greatest Service The greatest gift we can offer the world
is our aspiration for endless progress and self-perfection.
Through our ascent in consciousness, the world around us
ascends.
Inevitability of Realizing our Human Aspiration, Divine Life on Earth Sri Aurobindo says that the human
aspiration to realize God, Light, Freedom, and Immortality
is inevitable, as it is the Divine's intention. He also
indicates that a Divine Life on Earth is inevitable for that
was Its original purpose in extending itself to a universe
of forms.
Immortality of the Body, the Inner Psychological Being Sri Aurobindo indicates that there can be immortality in the body, as well as in the vital and mental being. Immortality for our body is the capacity to have an ever-sustaining physical life, or more particularly the ability to live as long as one wishes. That is possible if the consciousness of the physical cells respond to the influence of the spiritual Force. Immortality for our inner psychological being is to come in touch with and completely identify with our True Self; our Evolving Soul within. From that poise, we feel that we are infinite beings, have lived before, are living infinitely now, will further transform in future births, and settle into one immortal life on earth as fully developed spiritual beings -- in a single continuous and progressive stream of existence. Also by identifying with our evolving
soul, we experience the timelessness of the Eternal Source
in the passing of time, which makes our lives seem
infinitely vast in length, scope, and power.

central goal of the soul's evolutionary
experience. We respond to crises and

can come from these experiences is to
become more conscious. The rest is

All Purposes from the Macro to the Micro
Are One; Have a Unity of Purpose
The Divine has a purpose in creation.
The universe has a purpose in evolving
living beings and humans in the world.
Society has a purpose to accomplish.
Countries have their own purposes.
Individuals have their own purpose in
life. In essence, every purpose is One
from the point of view of the Supermind.
There is a unity of purpose in the

Our Purpose in Life
Levels of Fulfilling Our Purpose in Life
One level of personal fulfillment is to
follow the path of one's lower, Ego
self. Seeking money, power, and success
for their own sake is its hallmark.
Higher still is to embrace the
conditions that Nature has put before
you. It is to happily accept the givens
of Life and thereby grow in the process.
Highest of all is to Surrender to the
Divine, the Divine Mother, and embrace
what She asks of you to do through
everyday conditions. It is a life of
wonder, and utter joy and bliss.
This is in essence the same as Sri
Aurobindo's insight in The Life
Divine that we attain our True
Individuality and Purpose by discovering
our role in the Universal scheme of
things in its attempt to fulfill the
Transcendent Will.
