The Marvel of
Existence
To perceive that each
and every thing -- good or bad, large or small -- plays a role in
the unfolding is to have a glimpse of the marvel of Existence.
Accepting All Things
that Come Our Way
A person of
high consciousness tends to embrace all things that come their
way. The average person wants life to take form, unfold on a
particular way, but the more realized individual accepts all and
everything that comes his way, perceiving the deeper truth of all
that is unfolding before him; of the necessity and utility of each
and every thing.
E.g., one
parent did not want to accept the child's interest in photography,
expressing deep disappointment with that aim. But then she changed
her attitude and accepted it, and the child grew up to become a
successful cinematographer.
The more we
open ourselves to all that is occurring around us, the more we
will be in the right flow of life, the more life will be our
friend, and the more we will understand the hidden clues life is
offering us at every moment.
All Serves a Purpose
If you accept that everything serves a purpose, then you won't be
bothered by anything. It is a spiritual realization, and a glimpse
of the Marvel of existence.
Embracing the Partial, Erroneous that Attracts Overwhelmingly Every small detail serves the big picture. Even things that seem at first small, innocuous, unimportant, even contradictory to the truth serves to move the process forward, indicating that all things no matter their status is necessary for the progressive unfolding of life. E.g., one man was teaching a class, and someone made partly true statements. Rather than deny his remarks, the instructor paid attention to the person. In the end, this individual would be key to the very successful outcome of the class. It was life responding to the trainer's Openness.
Ultimate Rationality that Embraces All is to Perceive the Marvel Man is not rational, as he embraces only those truths of a matter that meets his physical and vital biases. It is an exclusive movement that is the source of his essential Ignorance born of creation. On the other hand, the more rational you are, the more you embrace the various points of view about any matter, overcoming that exclusive tendency. You take a decisive step towards Truth. Ultimate Rationality is to embrace everything related to that object, and to see how all fits together, with each playing a vital part -- the important, the unimportant; the small and the large; even the right and the wrong. It is to embrace the ultimate Truths of life, which is to perceive the Marvel of existence.
Everything has Intrinsic Value Everything that exists -- positive or negative, great or small -- has intrinsic value and is necessary for the unfolding; for the progress and evolution of life. It is the Marvel of existence.
Embracing All and Every
Thing
From an understanding of the nature of the Reality, Brahman, God,
the Infinite -- as both the Unmanifest and the Manifest, the
Creator and Creation, Spirit and Matter, and their integral
relationship -- the following comes to mind about the way we view
our existence:
-We need to ACCEPT everything in life, since all is Brahman. Not
just 'this' at the expense of 'that', but all. The ego likes this
but not that. But the Reality is beyond the ego. It embraces all
and every thing; all planes and acts and forms in life. By
embracing life this way, dualities, contradictions are overcome,
as we move from the exclusive Part we are attached to the Whole
that is the Truth unfolding, engendering harmony and oneness.
-We also need to see the PURPOSE of all things in the scheme of
things. We need to see each thing in its context; of its role in
the unfolding, on its way to greater progress. (That way we see
how even the trivial action of a person in the unfolding of an
event serves an important purpose. That there are no such things
as "interruptions" or "disturbances" or "side roads or issues"
that take one off track.)
This leads to a profound RESPECT for all things, for all acts, for
every person at any moment in time. It enables us to move from ego
and selfishness to embracing the needs and concerns of others;
i.e. self-givingness. It also engenders Non-reaction since nothing
is outside us to disturb us (since we embrace and accept all in
our purview).
Brahman is all and every thing (and even beyond to their integral
relationship). And yet we can rise beyond exclusive mind to
intuition and thereby perceive It, including the Dance of the All
on its way to ever-greater progress. It is to have a glimpse of
the Marvel of existence.
Embracing All Things is Harmonic, Attracts Embracing every individual thing at every moment -- good or bad, big or small, helpful or harmful -- is to embrace the Truth of existence. It not only fosters harmony with life, but evokes good fortune at every turn.
All Things Come for Our Progress
All that Occurs is
for Our Progress Everything that is happening around us, good or bad, is occurring for our own progress.
All that Comes Does So
For Our Progress
-Everything
that comes to us in life comes for our progress. If we take it in
that spirit, then we will be on an endless adventure of
consciousness and discovery.
-Furthermore, the Divine is behind such events in our lives,
seeking to elevate us.
-Thus, every
small detail is in its right place.
-This is a
vast fundamental liberating understanding and knowledge that gives
us faith, energy, and power, motivating us in the extreme;
creating great joy in being alive.
Things Happen to Us to
Give Us the Experience for Our Progress
It is said
that the unexamined life is not worth living. Then why have things
happened to us the way they did in the course of our lives? There
is a powerful answer: Nature gives us the experience we need in
order to progress. I.e. everything that has happened to us --
including all of the events, all of the happiness and pain -- has
occurred so that we can raise our own limits of consciousness to
something higher. If you look back on your life this way, you can
see the patterns, unfoldings, and key moments that corroborate
this point of view.
Holding Opposites
in Our Mind to Know the Whole Truth Is it not possible that
both are
true, but that the human mind cannot hold these contradictory
opposites together at once. The human mind, supported by a
irrepressible negative vital/emotional being takes a side --
holding its one truth in opposition to all others, despite the
wider understanding of the whole that includes all truths. This is
unfortunately the way the mind of man functions. It is
exclusive to all
other possibilities other than its own. It takes one side out of a
myriad of truths, and takes delight in REINFORCING its opinion
whenever possible. On the other hand, the
person of higher consciousness moves out of the exclusivity of
mind and embraces the full truth, whatever that might be; even, as
in the example above, where the truths appear virtually opposite
one another. The higher spiritualized mind embraces all truths
because it seeks them; even what appears as contradictory
opposites. In the lower consciousness, however, one is adamant
about one's own position. In this world, all is divided existence,
opposites opposing one another; me vs. you. In the higher
consciousness, opposites, contradictions are
complementaries,
i.e. they work together to make a fuller, more whole, more
integral truth. As man evolves, he will move to the spirit in mind
that that can hold all truths, including contradictory ones. Then
he will take a big leap on the road to his further evolution and
transformation. We can begin that process by moving to our deeper consciousness within, away from the surface bubblings, to silence; and then deeper still to the evolving soul. There one sees beyond the contradictions, embracing all sides, seeing to the True Truth that lie beyond the surface view. From there, all decisions made will be great ones, that inevitably benefits all.

Difficulties, Problems, and Progress
Conditions of Our Progress
All that comes our way, including great or small difficulties, are
precisely the conditions for our further progress.
All that Comes Does So For Our Progress
-Everything that comes to us in life comes for our progress. If we
take it in that spirit, then we will be on an endless adventure of
consciousness and discovery.
-Furthermore, the Divine is behind such events in our lives,
seeking to elevate us.
-Thus, every small detail is in its right place.
-This is a vast fundamental liberating understanding and knowledge
that gives us faith, energy, and power, motivating us in the
extreme; creating great joy in being alive.
Difficulty and Opportunity
The greater the problem or obstacle we come across, the greater
the opportunity for success and progress.
The Great Benefit of Difficulty
Periods of difficult transition more often than not usher in the
greatest possible changes. (E.g., the deep recession of the 80s
enabled one man to move beyond his old business and take up a
vocation that not only lasted the rest of his life, but was a vast
movement in society.) It is the great benefit that comes from
great difficulty.
Difficulties and Faith
Every difficulty we encounter is an opportunity to raise our level
of faith.
Problems Force Us Deeper for Solutions and Faith
Every problem that arises in your
life is an occasion to go deeper within; to both contemplate and
find the necessary solution, and develop more faith in the Higher
Power to resolve it.
Intense Negatives Followed by Extreme Positive Normally, on the other side of an intense negative, lurks an extreme positive. Often people experience this when their lives fall apart, only to be quickly followed by a dramatic opening in another area. One can be said to be subconsciously outgrowing one thing and progressing into another.

Utility of All
All is as It Should Be
From the highest consciousness one realizes that
everything is happening as it should be
in order to move life forward as it will
be
-- for our and the world's
progress.
The Inner Power of Perceiving That All
-- Including the Negative -- Serves a
Purpose
The perspective of Brahman, the omnipresent Reality, is that ALL
things -- positive and negative, big and
small, pleasurable and painful, etc. --
serve a purpose in the unfolding of
life; the uplifting of humanity and
ourselves.
Thus, negative consciousnesses, people, circumstances, etc. are not
to be shunned, but to be understood in
the context of the Unfolding Whole.
How can we develop this unitarian perspective? Sri Aurobindo says
that when we rise in consciousness
beyond ordinary mind to supramental
perception -- i.e. the view of the
integral Truth of things -- we perceive
the utility of every condition,
garnering a vast inner power for right
action that leads to infinite-like
success.
Supramental Perception of the Reality;
the All & Everything Necessary for the
Uplifting of Life
Sri Aurobindo indicates that this consciousness to embrace all
things is to have the Supramental
perception of the Reality (Brahman),
which is the All; the everything --
positive and negative, good and evil,
pleasure and pain, ignorance and
knowledge, -- necessary for the
unfolding and upward movement of life.
Spirit & Matter Reconciled in
Supramental Consciousness of the Reality
The apparent contradiction between Spirit and Matter is reconciled
when we have the consciousness of the
Reality, Brahman. That occurs in
supramental consciousness.
The Marvel of the ALL that Fits Together
Everything is necessary and fits
together like a glove, but we don't see
it. This is the ALL, the integral
Brahman and Reality; the true Truth of
things; the extraordinary Marvel we can
perceive from our highest consciousness.
Infinite Power of the Finite, the Infinitesimal
To know the significance of the infinitesimal is to
discover the power of the Infinite. All
that we see as finite, limited, ignorant
and impotent is in reality a frontal
appearance of the Infinite. Behind every
finite appearance lies an infinite
potential. It means that every
individual, every circumstance and every
moment possesses infinite possibilities.
(MSS)
Tending Smallest Finite is Perfection that Attracts
the Infinite
The smallest detail can make all the difference.
Remove it, and the work (or the garment)
is spoiled. Tend to it and the infinite
comes out of the smallest finite, as
life responds with good fortune.
Karmayogi refers to the attainment of
this as "Perfection." Perfection always
attracts the Infinite potentials of
life.
Additional: How to make this real: Take any work,
and break it down into every category
with details that are key to its
success. (It is in essence an
understanding and accounting for the
integral Truth of that thing.) Now
strive for perfection in each category
of the work, focusing particularly on
where one is wanting. Life will respond
with overwhelming results, catapulting
you to the stars.
Evoking Infinite from Finite through
Right Consciousness to Smallest Thing
The largest thing is no more important
than the smallest from the perspective
of the Reality, Brahman. Or as Karmayogi
says, when we attend to the finite with
right consciousness, we evoke the
Infinite from it (because it is already
there involved, ready to come out).
As Representative of the Infinite Consciousness We
Can Express the Infinite in Our Lives by
Giving Up Ego and Perceiving the Utility
of the All
-Every soul, every individual is in its inmost
being a part and portion of that
Infinite, its representative, its
delegate. Our very being is a portion of
its Being, our personalities are richly
woven fabrics composed of myriad
colorful threads of that Being,
vibrations of Being which are true
aspects of Spirit.
-The Divine's purpose and goal is to manifest or
realize some aspect of its Infinite
power and glory in each individual, to
give birth to the Divine in man.
-We each possess the creative power of the Infinite
to manifest Infinity in our own lives.
We are each the creator of our lives. We
are the determinate of our own creation.
-In order to reveal the Infinite in the finite, we
must discard the minds ordinary,
superficial egoistic view of life and
replace it with a non-egoistic regard.
-The Unknowable appears to the divided ego as a
life of limitations and dualities.
Withdrawing Ego we perceive the utility
and purpose in everything. We discover
that all that comes to us, comes for our
progress; every problem contains within
it an opportunity, every evil directs us
toward a greater Good, every error
points toward a greater Truth.
-We overcome ego vitally by withdrawing reactions
of all types; by withdrawing our
opinions and preference; by withdrawing
from the surface to the depths. (MSS)
Purpose in
Everything
Beyond Chance to Real Causes
There is no such thing as chance. All
events have a significance which
reflects one's own inner conditions and
the deeper forces at work in life.
Chance is simply a device to remove
conscious intention and allow subtle
conditions to express themselves through
apparently random events. (paraphrase
from 'The Book' by Garry Jacobs)
The Utility of All
All is Necessary
From the highest consciousness, we perceive that everything --
good and bad, small and large -- is necessary for the unfolding of
life.
Perceiving The Marvel that is the Utility of All
Sri Aurobindo describes how Life progresses through contradiction
and conflict that is transmuted and resolved into a higher
harmony. A related idea is that the Negative serves progress as
much as the positive, as does the large AND the insignificant. To
perceive this is as Karmayogi says is to see The Marvel; that All
is necessary in the unfolding, which in turn causes us to be
infinitely accepting and embracing in life. Developing an inner
life and constant opening to the spiritual Force will surely
facilitate and accelerate this process.
The
Necessary of All for Progress All and ever thing serves the movement forward
in life.
