Cheerfulness and Prosperity
Cheerfulness is an excellent foundation for prosperity. This is true for the individual, the family, and society. For example, we see how the foundation of the Bennet family in the novel Pride and Prejudice serves them well as they move from their current condition to far greater prosperity at the end of the story.

Cheerfulness in Social Entity Enables Accomplishment
Cheerfulness in a social entity, such as a family, contains the right condition for accomplishment and positive. A family does as well as there is harmony there. Lack of harmony will lead to less accomplishment. Partiality by a parent to one child is unpardonable and have negative repercussions (e.g. Mr. Bennett in Pride and Prejudice).

Happy Optimism and Prosperity
A happy optimism at the start of an emerging situation is a sure sign of accomplishment and success. We see this amongst the members of the Bennett family at the outset of Pride and Prejudice that ends in three marriages, and wealth accumulated for the family. On the other hand, a small internal squabble at the outset can point to an eventual doom. We see this at the beginning of the true-to life-film A Perfect Storm when two of the fisherman show great contempt for one another, only to see al members perish at the end due to coming together of two enormous storms.

There are always predecessor events that point to the bigger events. To know those smaller acts can help us control the bigger ones; turning them into great accomplishment and results.

Life Response & Cheerfulness
Life responds with good fortune from all sides to cheerfulness. Changing from gloom to cheerfulness tends to attract positive circumstance.

Life Response & Cheerfulness
The best condition for life to respond abundantly and positively on its own, without even an outer effort, is a state of cheerfulness, positive outlook, and clarity of thought, whether it be for the individual, the family, or a social entity. Spiritual mind and a deep inner poise can take the response to infinity."

Eliza's Cheerfulness
Cheerfulness -- Eliza in Pride and Prejudice has a naturally cheerful, happy personality with a capacity for humor taken to the physical level of mirth. She is incapable of remaining unhappy for long. (MSS) [It helps her succeed, and block the negative influence like Lady Catherine from affecting her.]

Pollyanna's Profound Cheerfulness
Pollyanna did not just have a sunny disposition that looked on the positive side, but always saw the specific complementary positive to the negative expressed by others. This gave her a profound cheerfulness for one so young. As a result, life responded with good fortune all around.

The Power of a Generally Positive Attitude
Success -- i.e. luck -- will flow in every direction when our attitude is generally positive. It not only brings us constant luck and leads us in the right direction, but it is infectious and affects others.

In the wonderful English story 'Pollyanna,' a young girl sees everything in a positive light, and as a result, everyone around her from the stodgy, grumpy, and cynical are charmed. In fact, their lives are suddenly turned around through the wisdom of this happy individual. That is the power of having a continuous positive attitude; that can-do spirit; that observance of life from the brighter and truer side. It even sees negative as positives in disguise; as great positive potential ready to burst forth.

The Heart that Always Opens to the Joy that is Spirit in Essence
However ossified the heart is, it readily opens to a touch of JOY. For the heart Joy is the Spirit in essence. (MSS) [Example: all those who were hardened opened to the cheerfulness and joy brought by Pollyanna.]

Overcoming Illness
What supports health when you are will is patience, positive attitude, and cheerfulness.

Consecration Supported by Cheerfulness, Etc.
As we practice consecration [offering an activity to the Divine] on a regular basis, we will find that intensity and ardor -- as well as patience, positive attitude, cheerfulness, and equality -- will always serve us well; just as expectation and demand will delay or cancel the action of the Force.

Cheerfulness of Primitive Man
When man came on earth he did not live in a society or hierarchy nor was he endowed with poverty. Good health, longevity, natural cheerfulness were his own even as he found himself amidst plenty. Like other species he lived or perished as the external resources permitted but he lived or perished as a group. Only when the society organised itself into a hierarchy, it was possible for one layer to exist while another persisted during times of scarcity. Organised ways of living, knowledge of all descriptions, systems created for comfort etc. interfered with the natural living of MAN in hundreds of ways. With the passing of time these stratifications of society come to stay and even create a psychology by which even the victim takes his victimization for granted. No question arises in his mind. ...

Had not the society organised itself in such a way that segments of it are protected and other segments were defenseless, MAN would have remained as MAN and would not have been bifurcated into poor and rich. (MSS)

The qualities more particularly required for the tests of physical Nature are endurance and plasticity, cheerfulness and fearlessness.
For the spiritual tests: aspiration, confidence, idealism, enthusiasm and generosity in self-giving.
For the tests stemming from the hostile forces: vigilance, sincerity and humility. (The Mother, from Mother's Agenda)
