The Spiritual
Source of Energy The Ocean of
Energy that Takes Form
Expressions of Energy in Life -Life is a field of energy that takes form materially, vitally, mentally, and spiritually. -In life there is matter, i.e. the material plane, which express through material energies, there is the vital plane which expresses through vital energies, there is mind, which expresses through mental energies, and there is the supramental plane beyond mind which expresses through supramental energies. -Life expresses through gross/material, subtle, and causal formations. Gross/material means the thing expresses as physical substance and can be perceived with the senses. When a thing expresses subtlely, it is not perceived through the senses, but is invisible. When a thing expresses causally, not only is it invisible but it is infused with spiritual consciousness giving it ultimate power of effectivity. -Matter (e.g. the stone or the human body) expresses at the gross/material plane, as well as subtle, and causal planes; Vital individual wants, desires, emotions, feelings, attitudes, etc. and other vital life energies express predominantly at the subtle plane (though they can express causally as well.) Thoughts, ideas, opinions, beliefs, logical thoughts, etc., of the mind express fully at the subtle plane. Aspects of the spirit and supermind express causally (i.e. super-subtlely).
Energy in the Essence of Existence -Energy began at the inception of the creation as energy at rest. The Big Bang or similar as energy at rest began to move and expanded as energy in motion. If scientists knew that the creation began as energy at rest, not in motion it would revolutionize their perceptions and understanding. If they further knew that energy at rest came out of the "nothing," from the Divine it would change the direction of science. -Everything in the universe is infinite, though each things seems to be finite. When we see how matter can be converted to energy (including nuclear fusion and fission) we see how there is infinity in matter, in everything in life. This indicates that all things in life, not just matter, have infinite potential waiting to be released. Everything we now perceive as finite can be infinite. -Energy directed in life becomes force. Force that is organized becomes power. Power organized for action becomes skills. Skills organized in an person becomes a capacity. -For an explanation of energy's role in Spirit, Creation, and as source of Life, click here.
The Movement of Energy Amongst Forms Energy creates form. However, forms break down, is unable to hold the energy, and so the energy takes new form. What lasts is the energy. What changes is the form. E.g. forms of government change, but the force and energy continues, even increases when of a higher consciousness. Thus energy goes from one form to another; one act to another.
Form and
Energy
Energy is the source and basis of all forms, whether physical forms of
rocks or humans, or
mental forms such as
concepts and ideas.
Forms however tend to
break down. However, the
energy behind them does
not go away. Rather it
formulates into new
forms. For example, when
a form of government,
such as monarchy, breaks
down, the energy behind
it does not wither, but
reformulates itself into
a new form, such as
democracy.
When things die -- whether anachronistic forms of social influence like
aristocracy, or the
physical human body --
that form is unable to
hold its energy. It thus
seeks corresponding new
forms to inhabit, such
as a new social order or
a new form of life; even
a new human body.
Sri Aurobindo in his metaphysical opus 'The Life Divine' tells us that
energy is the source of
all things, all life
seen and unseen in the
universe. He says that
there is a constant,
dynamic energy in the
cosmos that takes subtle
or gross form -- whether
a physical body or
object, a plant or
animal, or an idea or
insight. This common
energy flowing subtly
and invisibly through
the universe has as its
source a spiritual
Conscious-Force of the
one Infinite
Consciousness.
Though we are a product of that universal force, energy is not a static
entity. For example, we
humans can increase it
at any time -- whether
it is physical,
vital/emotional, mental,
or spiritual energy.
Increasing any of these
will give us not only a
greater power to
accomplish, but a
greater zest for life.
If this is so, then what
can we do to increase
our energy? There are a
number of practical
approaches.
One is to increase our
level of aspiration in
life. The more intense
our aspiration to
achieve a goal, the more
our will is engaged, and
thus the greater energy
released. Another way to
maintain and build our
energies is to maintain
a positive attitude.
Whereas negative
attitudes tend or
deplete our energies,
even evoking instances
of sudden ill fortune,
positive ones -- whether
towards others, one's
self, one's work, or
life -- tend to have the
opposite effect.
Thus, the more we
increase our energy, the
more likely the forms
that relate to our being
will maintain themselves
and avoid breaking down.
If we lose physical,
vital, or mental energy,
those corresponding
forms tend to whither.
E.g. out body decays,
our will depletes, and
our understanding
diminishes.
In the end, energy is
the source of all
accomplishment. It is
energy that created, is
creating the universe
from a divine, Infinite
consciousness. Likewise
it is energy that also
enables us create and
achieve in life. The
greater the
consciousness, the
greater the energy --
physical, vital, mental,
and spiritual, and thus
the greater
sustainability of the
forms of our being and
our capacity to thrive.
Restoring the Balance of
Energies
Nature has an instinctive, holistic tendency that creates a natural
balance, an equilibrium
of energies that is
lacking in Man. On the
other hand, we tend to
focus on one aspect of a
thing, one part, leaving
other aspects
incomplete, which
creates imbalance and
disequilibrium. And yet,
if we raised our
consciousness and
embraced a more integral
approach to life,
addressing and
perfecting all parts of
a thing or matter, we
would maintain a balance
of energies, which would
form the basis of a
magnificent existence.
Take the animal. It exists primarily by instinct. It exists through a
subconscious knowledge
that it instinctively
follows, which is
perfect at its own
level. Man, on the other
hand, is governed by a
newer, more advanced
faculty -- Mind. Yet
despite the advance,
Mind is a very imperfect
instrument. For one, it
operates too often on
the surface of things;
merely on the inputs of
the senses. It is also
too much driven by our
lower vital and physical
needs, rather than the
rational truth of
things. It is egotistic
and separative from
others, life, and truth.
Overall, its thinking
processes are
incomplete, partial,
one-sided, as it flies
away from truth in order
to protect, to
substantiate its own
narrow mental opinions
and beliefs, vital
attitudes, and physical
urges. Thus, Man lives
out of harmony. There is
a disequilibrium of
energies, a life out of
balance, a disharmony
within and with the
world around him.
The Mind of Man not only exists within him, but expands to create the
society he lives in.
Yet, there too there is
a similar imbalance. We
see this in virtually
every aspect where human
development has taken
place. We tend to
improve things in one
area, but neglect
others, creating
imbalances and conflict.
For example, due to
advances in medicine and
sanitation, we live
longer. And yet that
extension of life has
not been balanced by a
correspond growth in our
psychological and mental
life. We may live
longer, but we do not
take advantage of it.
Instead, in our extended
life, we act routinely
or superficially,
attached to our lower
vital needs and urges,
instead of making the
effort to develop
ourselves; to aspire for
something greater in our
lives
If we examine illness and death, we will see that it is due to
disequilibrium in our
nature caused by a
brittleness and fixidity
in our physical and
vital parts, causing us
to wither away and
eventually die. Illness
in particular has its
origins in our
psychological nature.
However, if we
understand and overcome
the negative reactions,
attitudes, opinions,
beliefs that spawn and
attract it, we can
restore the equilibrium,
and thereby free
ourselves of ill health.
Even death itself can be
overcome when we
discover the inner
psychological and
spiritual keys that
precipitate it.

One can also avail of the social resources there in the collective, which gives a greater capacity than what education gives. The true achiever is energized to accomplish through the knowledge of his own personal resources; i.e. knowledge his own personal and true self. (Paraphrase of MSS)
Factors that Determine Our
Energy
Ways
We Can Be Energized
Power of Preserving our
Energies
The other day someone asked me why we
are constantly in a state of action and motion; and why is
our mind constantly full of thoughts. I answered that it was
due to the fact that our physical, vital, and mental
energies are not under control. I.e. if our physical
energies were under a modicum of restraint, we wouldn't be
in constant motion. Similarly, if our mental energies were
held in check, our thoughts wouldn't be constantly running.
Let’s then examine uncontrolled energy at each of these
planes a little closer.
One extreme of unfettered
physical energy is the child who races around haphazardly here and
there, as the mind has not learned to control and direct
those energies. However, as we get older, our physical
energies are absorbed in other pursuits: in dealing with
work, family problems, romantic and other personal
relationships, and so forth. As a result, we tend to move
around less arbitrarily. Or to put it another way, as we
mature, our vital and mental parts take the reins from the
physical.
We also squander our
vital energies in a variety of ways. Examples
are taking to excessive drink and drugs, intense emotional
or physical interchange,
overreacting to the inputs of others, being absorbed in
trivial pursuits, pushing ourselves too far,
and many others. In addition, there is a litany of primal
negative emotions, feelings, and attitudes -- such as anger,
hate, and jealousy -- that constantly drain our vital
energies. Most of the time, we are completely aware of this
dynamic.
Then there are the various ways we waste
our
mental energies. For example, “running thoughts,” -- i.e. the
mind's tendency to constantly have to think -- is another
form of uncontrolled energy release that depletes it. It is
large part due to the restlessness of our lower,
physical-oriented mentality, which constantly has to think
about things in order to feel secure and assured. Then there
is what I like to call "momentum thinking," which is the tendency of mind to
constantly have to review current circumstance and
conditions well after it is necessary to do so. Again, there
is a kind of subconscious fear that if one is not constantly
reviewing current circumstance that life will not work out
well; when in fact the opposite is true. Finally,
as the mind develops, through education and various life
experiences, it seeks to express
itself ever-more frequently
like a powerful muscle. All three forms deplete our
mental energies at a time they need to be rejuvenated for
future mental freshness.
And yet, we can learn to control any of
these forms of energy depletion if we just become aware of
their expression, and then develop a simple method to
restrain it. One method is to periodically scan ourselves,
and determine if we are squandering our physical, vital, and
mental energies. That effort, in tandem with our energy
depletion knowledge, will generally reveal where we need to
control ourselves. For example, if I go for a walk after
completing a relatively important work, and I find myself
constantly having to review and reassess every detail of my
earlier efforts, it indicates that I need to develop a
degree of restraint in that area. I therefore decide that
every time I take that afternoon walk, I will not think of
anything to do with work. If I do, not only will my energies
be restored, but the effort to create that mental silence
will attract positive conditions, including intuitions of
important knowledge, from seemingly out of nowhere.
Another
technique is that whenever we feel tired, we can consider
what we did at the physical, vital/emotional, or mental
levels that precipitated it. E.g. if we find ourselves
exhausted the day after an intense meeting with a friend,
then we know that it has drained our energies, and we should
try to avoid such forceful interactions in the future.
In the
end, it is only through self-analysis and self-discipline
that we can maintain high levels of physical, vital, and
mental energy. If we are vigilant,
observe ourselves, and make the effort to change our
energy-wasting ways, not only will our vigor and energy in
life be constantly overflowing, but we will feel continuous
joy in being alive. There is no more wonderful condition in
life!

Four Planes of Energy Different Expressions and Results of Mental Energy A
reader asked a question:
“Can the traits of
intellect, genius be
explained in terms of
energy?” I responded as
follows: We
know that mental
activity generates
mental energy. The
quality of the energy
released created depends
on many factors;
including the type of
mental activity engaged
in -- e.g. thought
processing, aspiration,
values, pure logic,
awareness, light,
intuition, etc., which
are expressions at
different mental planes. The
quality of the energy
also depends on the
intensity of the
engagement of that
mental process. E.g. the
programmer engaged in
pure thought, may be
only slightly engaged or
fully. The more he is,
the greater the
intensity, thus the
greater the mental
energy produced. We
also see that the higher
the plane of Mind used,
the greater the energy
generated, which
manifests as a deeper,
more integral, and
many-sided knowledge o f
any object of inquiry. E.g.
Karmayogi says that
taking to mental Silence
taps into waves of
energy from an unlimited
reservoir and source.
From this plane, the
Mind functions more
smoothly and effectively
through its thought
processes, generating
greater energy, and
hence greater mental
results. We
also know we are capable
of experiencing
intuitions of knowledge
without thought, where
an idea simply enters
into our mind complete,
without thought. When
Einstein realized E=MC2
and other conceptions,
he often did so through
sudden intuitions of
knowledge without any
thought at all. There
must be some energy
going out in us that
attracts this sudden
ideation. Many yogis say
that the deeper the
connection within to our
self, and soul, the
greater the opening to
the universal planes
from which we experience
intuitions of knowledge.
So the inner being or an
opening to the
superconscient planes
must generate that
energy. The
energy at the level of
Supermind, of
supramental perception
via the spiritual Force
has ultimate energy
power of attraction, as
at once we both KNOW the
thing under scrutiny in
its essence and
variation, and it also
MANIFESTS as a living
reality. E.g. when I
open to the Force, I
unleash an energy that
gives me the answer to
the problem, while also
setting in motion events
where the solution is
used to generate a
result that is of great
benefit to me. There is
perhaps what we might
call a Causal Energy
creating causal results.
It is causal because a
thing is created/caused
from out of nowhere;
where there was nothing
before to generate it. Thus
energy can be generated
from the normal mental
functions -- from sense
input accumulation to
idea processing to
expressions of our
personal values to
rational thinking of the
intellect to even purer
thought of the
philosopher -- all the
way up to the
spiritualized mental
experiences like
silence, light,
intuition, and
supramental perception.
The higher the plane,
the more integral the
knowledge; plus at the
highest planes
(particularly the
supramental) we attract
life results of that
knowledge. We
could therefore say that
as we use mind at higher
levels, we generate
corresponding higher
formations of mental
energy. That generates
more complete
understanding and
Knowledge, but also
increasing power for
that Knowledge to
manifest as a real,
material formation in
the world. Offering the
mental activity to the
Divine, to Mother
engages the supramental
power directly, gives
both knowledge and
(often instantaneous)
material results. These
must derive from a
higher, ultimate
formation and intensity
of energy, which can be
called “Causal.” It
would be an interesting
study if scientists
could measure when
different aspects of our
mentality or planes of
mind are used. On the
other hand, their
instruments, which
normally seek, factual,
physical, empirical
evidence, may prove
futile, and only
observing how life
responds, both in terms
of the knowledge we
garner (inner) and the
real material results
that follow (outer) will
give us a truer
understanding of the
nature, scope,
intensity, power,
effectivity, etc. of the
mental Energy released.
Hidden Deflators of Energy
Energy and Accomplishment See Article Energy Accomplishes
Energy and Accomplishment Spiritually, all energy is an expression of will and there is a secret will that manifests and expresses through all forms of energy in the universe. All will is an expression of a consciousness, though the originating consciousness may be inconscient and imperceptible to our senses as in matter, subconscious as in the plant or animal, or superconscious as in spiritual experience. All consciousness is a manifestation of Being. Therefore, behind all energy, all will, all forms and all consciousness, there are beings or a Being that is a manifestation of the Infinite, the Absolute. All creation ultimately originates in the Being, which formulates a consciousness that has an inherent will and power for self-expression. The release of that will generates energy and that energy constitutes the building blocks for the creation as we perceive it in the universe. Thus, the entrepreneur (being), possessed of an aspiration to accomplish in business, conceives or becomes conscious of a new business idea and decides by an act of will to create a business. His decision releases his mental, vital and physical energy and propels him into action. By that energy and through that action he builds according to his conception the forms of a company, products and services, an organizational structure with operating systems, and a market identity to realize his vision. ----- Anything that increases the energy of the being increases the capacity for accomplishment. Anything that reduces or dissipates the energy of the being in unproductive directions reduces that capacity. Negative thoughts, disturbing events, low energy people, unconscious acts, a lack of physical cleanliness, poor health, and bad habits are various ways in which energy is lost. (MSS)
Energy & Accomplishment
Energy & Accomplishment Form and Energy
We observe the forms of life around us and wonder where their origin and
source of power lies. It
comes from energy.
Moreover, there is a
fascinating relationship
between the forms and
the energy behind it.
Energy is the source and basis of all forms, whether physical forms of

Musical Chairs At
one point, people were invited to come up to the front of the
hall and play a game of Musical Chairs. A dozen or so chairs
were then set next to one another, alternating in direction.
Various participants were called up and asked to participate. In
essence, they would march around the chairs when the music
started, and then jump into the nearest available one when it
stopped several seconds later. Each time a round was completed,
one chair would be taken out. There was always one more
participant than available chairs, causing someone to be forced
out in each round. Before the action began, however, the host, trying to rally the
participants, enthusiastically asked them "Are you ready to
win?!?," or words to that effect. Spontaneously all of them
raised their hands over their heads and cried our "yes!" That
is, save one individual. When I saw that this young woman refrained from responding to
the boisterous call, I felt that it was an indicator that she
should win. And so the game began, and round and round people
walked, and when the music stopped, they piled into one of the
available chairs. After two iterations, I saw that the young
woman was still in the fray. And after five rounds, she was
still in there. A few minutes later, there was only one chair
left, and two participants; one being the young woman, the other
a well dressed young man. When the music started, I noticed that
the man was acting demonstrably and moving in an exotic way
suggesting he was suave, relaxed, and had the situation under
control. The young woman however remained calm and focused. When
the music then stopped, both of them drove into the one
available chair. But as it turned out, each had taken up half
the seat, and as a result, it ended in a tie! However, the game
leader indicated that they had to do it again in order to
generate a winner. And
so again the music started, then it suddenly stopped, and two
remaining participants drove into the one available chair.
However, this time, the young woman swiftly moved in and took a
seat in the chair, and was crowned the victor! I must say I was quietly overjoyed that my pick had won Musical Chairs. Not because I won a bet with myself, or because I have some gift of prophecy and can look into the future, but because in that episode I understood a principle of life. If you conserve your energies, you are bound to attract the very best of conditions; in this case, the best chance to win the game. Because the young woman did not react boisterously and self-congratulatory when compelled to let out a shout by the host, she conserved her energies, which led me to believe that she had the best chance to secure the victory. When she did, it not only reaffirmed a powerful law of life, but it expressed through an exciting and thoroughly enjoyable life response outcome! Creation, Accomplishment,

will attract positive conditions, including intuitions of
important knowledge, from seemingly out of nowhere.
Another
technique is that whenever we feel tired, we can consider
what we did at the physical, vital/emotional, or mental
levels that precipitated it. E.g. if we find ourselves
exhausted the day after an intense meeting with a friend,
then we know that it has drained our energies, and we should
try to avoid such forceful interactions in the future.
In the
end, it is only through self-analysis and self-discipline
that we can maintain high levels of physical, vital, and
mental energy. If we are vigilant,
observe ourselves, and make the effort to change our
energy-wasting ways, not only will our vigor and energy in
life be constantly overflowing, but we will feel continuous
joy in being alive. There is no more wonderful condition in
life!
Spiritual/Inner Approaches to Creating Energy Shift Your
Focus to Others Speak Less, Speak Softly
Be Still to Eliminate Fatigue
Develop An Inner Poise Infinite Spiritual Energies For example, here's an "inner" psychological approach to increasing your energy. Sit quietly for a few minutes, close your eyes, and "call" energy into your being. Call silently and intensely, as if you were calling a dearly beloved friend. Imagine your being opening to the energy above and around you. After a while energy will surge into your body. Here are some other ways to open to the infinite energies of the universe.

Vital Energy
Increasing Vital Energy by Giving
Physical energy depends on what we give and take from our body.
Vital energy depends on how much we give
and take emotionally. The more we give
to others, to life, the more internal
vital/emotional energy we create.
Building Up Vital Energy
Not wasting our vital/emotional energies maintains it, builds it
up.
How to Raise Your Vital Energy
Raise the level of your vital energy by
remaining calm, relaxed, positive,
pleasant and expansive in all your
interactions with others. (Paraphrase of
MSS)
Comment: Let us try that as much as
possible. We can practice that approach
with spouse, friends, boss,
subordinates, customer (potential or
actual), etc. in the course of our day.
If we also remember Mother (the
spiritual Force) constantly, it will be
that much easier. We will thereby feel
continually refreshed, and energized for
more.
Imbalance and Ill-Health
On Steve Jobs Demise
Karmayogi indicated that Steve Jobs' obsession with technology
(computer and otherwise) caused his life
lose balance, and thereby become
imbalanced. That imbalance showed up as
cancer that put a premature end to his
life. He said that had Steve Jobs taken
to the Mother and learnt about Life
Response he would have learned that
moderation and balance in all aspects of
our life is essential for long-term
sustainability, and that knowledge could
have prolonged his life by another 20 or
30 years. (paraphrase of N. Ashokan for
MSS)
Energy Types of Energy There are various forms of energy --
physical, vital/emotional, mental, and spiritual. Our
ultimate goal can be to maximize each.
Higher Consciousness Enables Greater Energy Energy is most readily built up by
elevating our consciousness; improving our inner,
psychological condition. Wherever we do so, we build
up energy at any of four levels -- physical, vital, mental,
and spiritual.
Negativity and Low Energy Negative thoughts, feelings, reactions,
and attitudes deplete our energy.
Aspiration + Will Releases Tremendous Energy We release tremendous energy when we
commit ourselves to achieving something and have the full
endorsement of our emotions. Or to put it another way,
Aspiration + Will = Energy.
Manifesting the Original Energy We are not only a product of an
essential Energy (originating in a Conscious Force), but we
manifest it in its physical, vital, mental, and spiritual
forms.
What
Depletes Our Energies Ways in Which We Waste Energy Waste is an unavoidable phenomenon in
our daily lives. Though in absolute terms Sri Aurobindo says
that there is no waste in creation, it is difficult to
concede that there is no waste of any sort in our daily
lives. Certainly there is a lot of waste of money, materials
and our time and energy and if these could be minimized it
will enhance our lives and productivity immensely. Given
below is a sample list of the types of waste that we allow
in our daily lives. 1. Inefficient functioning wastes a lot
of money, materials, energy and time and this is quite
prevalent in business, administration and even in running
households. 2. Lot of money is wasted through vanity
purchases by which more goods are bought than is necessary
and under this heading comes purchase of excess dress
materials, jewelry, cosmetics and household consumables. A
good deal of these purchases are done more for the joy of
possessions than for any real consumption purposes 3. Nations waste a lot of money that can
otherwise be meaningfully spent on development purposes when
they spend huge amounts of money for purchase of arms and
ammunitions which can be far in excess of actual defense
needs. This comes from a competitive security atmosphere by
which the more the rival country builds up its arms supply ,
the more the other countries feels threatened and are forced
to equalize their own arms supply by buying more. 4. Fear, irritation, anger, jealousy,
doubt, insecurity and worry all waste our emotional energies
and vastly diminish our accomplishments. 5. Excitement, hurry, impatience, idle
expectation and short-sighted goals that don’t see the
long-term requirements all waste our energies. 6. Disorganised functioning,
disharmonious relationships, lack of coordination all
scatter our energies that would normally be sharply focused
on the work and aims to be accomplished and thereby waste
our energies. 7. Loud talking, meaningless chatting,
needless gossip and ego clashes over petty issues all waste
our energies and time in a tremendous way. 8. There is waste of electricity, water,
food materials, writing paper etc in many households which
only comes from total carelessness and unconsciousness. 9. Improper accounting and stock taking
can make companies waste a lot of money in needless purchase
of raw materials on the assumption that there is less stock
when really there may be a lot. 10. All types of low-consciousness
activities such as quarrelling, obsession with money,
authority and asserting one’s position and addiction to
physical and sensual pleasures waste the higher
consciousness and spiritual energies that Mother gives us
and even if we are not aware of it, the waste is real and
highly regrettable. 11. Lack of awareness of our potential
capacities and talents which prevents these hidden assets
from coming out on the surface and magnifying our
accomplishments is a real waste of our own human resources. 12. Lack of knowledge of the vast and
magnificent opportunities around us that Society is offering
all the time lets these opportunities go to waste with
nobody feeling even sorry for it. The Supreme allows all these wastes with
an amazing tolerance and perhaps in his accounting equations
all these enormous waste is simply entered as cost of
unconsciousness. If he withdraws his consent for all these
wastes, so much money, materials and energy that are wasted
now will be meaningfully spent and the world will be far
richer, far more productive and far better a place to live
that it is now. Why He has not put his foot down on all
these still is a total mystery. (N. Asokan of MSS)
Opinions, Attitudes, and Energy Opinions are concentrated energy, pulling energies away from other activities. However, if we withdraw our opinions, that collected negative energy is then used positively, leading to greater results. Even more powerful than withdrawing our
opinions, are catching and overcoming our wanting attitudes.
When we do, we release powerful positive energies that
quickly align with the most favorable conditions of life.
Wasting Our Energies that Prevent Further Success Human nature is such that when we have a
modicum of success, we waste our energies -- physically,
vitally and mentally -- preventing us from greater
achievement along those lines.
Increasing Our Energy
Calling Energy and Receiving It through Others When you are exhausted and call to the
Spirit for energy to envelop you, silently repeating
"Energy, Energy," it may not come directly into your being.
Instead, conditions may be created for you where you garner
that energy through your association with others. Your
interaction with them is uplifting and therefore energizing.
In that way, the Force has responded, but not in the way you
expected.
Disease, Pain
Fear and Disease
In the 1930s, US president Franklin Roosevelt said that the
only thing to fear is fear itself. He was referring to the
terror people were experiencing as a result of the
collapsing economy of the Great Depression, and the trust
people should have in the government and society by putting
their money back into the banks. Today we have similar
fears, not only in financial matters, but in our concerns
about our health. The situation with the H1N1 virus is a
case in point, as we see panic rising in many quarters.
The Mother said that 95% of all illnesses are psychological
in origin. I.e. there is some wanting quality of our being
--perhaps a negative attitude or a misguided belief -- that
opens us to the vibrations of illness. If we were to
understand what is wanting within us, or otherwise take to
calm and inner faith, we would not attract illnesses, or if
we did, the case would be mild. If we also open to the
spiritual Force when such fear of illness arises in our
thoughts and emotions, then 90% of all illnesses can be
avoided.
And yet the society itself is also gripped by fear, as the
media plays off the nervousness and unease of the people,
not realizing that it does a disservice in propagating
fright and panic. But then the society around us is a
reflection of our own individual consciousness. Whether
negativity comes from within or without, we need to be
vigilant of fear-laden and other negative thoughts and
emotions.
In the final analysis, Roosevelt's maxim holds true today as
it did back then: especially when it comes to illness. Fear
breaks down the outer sheath of our physical being that
protects us from illness, allowing the disease to enter.
However, if we remain unmoved by that fear, and open to the
spiritual Force that is increasingly in the atmosphere, we
can enter a room of virulent contagion and not be effected
one iota.
External and Internal Cause of Physical Pain A physical pain is due to a
disequilibrium of energy. The source can be external, such
as other consciousnesses affecting you; or it can be
internal, such as imbalance of some sort inside yourself; or
in combination. This can be a fertile and revealing field of
scientific, medical, psychological, life movement, and
spiritual inquiry.

The Purpose of Sleep
The purpose of sleep is to connect back to the spiritual
Source and Being in order to experience It's absolute
stillness and peace, refreshing and energizing us for the
new day.
Immortality of the Body, the Inner Psychological Being Sri Aurobindo indicates that there can
be immortality in the body, as well as in the vital and
mental being. Immortality for our body is the capacity to
have an ever-sustaining physical life, or more particularly
the ability to live as long as one wishes. That is possible
if the consciousness of the physical cells respond to the
influence of the spiritual Force.
Immortality for our inner psychological being is to come in touch with and completely identify with our True Self; our Evolving Soul within. From that poise, we feel that we are infinite beings, have lived before, are living infinitely now, will further transform in future births, and settle into one immortal life on earth as fully developed spiritual beings -- in a single continuous and progressive stream of existence. Also by identifying with our evolving
soul, we experience the timelessness of the Eternal Source
in the passing of time, which makes our lives seem
infinitely vast in length, scope, and power.
Thoughts on Energy -Energy expresses in various forms: physical/material, vital, mental, and spiritual. -There are an infinite number of ways to increase our energy; as there are an infinite number of ways to squander it. -The real power of energy is when it is organized and focused through human intention. -Higher levels of energy attract positive conditions; lower energy attracts negative ones. -Energy has at its source a Conscious Force of the Infinite Divine. -Energy is the basis of all forms, seen and unseen in the universe. -Energy always remains. It may change its forms, but it sustains itself, by entering a new form when the old one cannot contain it. -Energy is Life, or rather is the essence of life out of which forms of its force are created.
-Even if there were no physical universe, there would
still be Energy, ready to take forms of itself as forms in
creation.
Energy Movement
Seeking Fulfillment
Energy, whether coming in mental,
vital, or physical form, once set in motion, seeks
embodiment and fulfillment. If it is not fulfilled in one
form, it moves on to another. That explains all change in
life, including birth and death.
Energy Behind Does
Not Die, but Takes on New Forms
When a form dies, its energy does not, as it seeks and enters new
forms. When the defense industry began to decline in Silicon
Valley over the last two decades that energy continued to
flow despite the companies' demise, and helped in the
formation of new technologies in new organizations. The form
dies, but not the energy, which seeks a higher form for its
purpose.
