Organization in Life

On Organization
Organization is what enables the world to function in a systematic way. It is the ordering mechanism that coordinates and integrates the elements of life - including material objects, life forms, and social structures - for the purpose of bringing about useful and beneficial results. Organization is, in essence, that which turns unruly, unordered, disparate complexity into manageable, simple, utilitarian existence, so that life can thrive. There is more, however, for organization also establishes the conditions for the further progress and development of all of the elements of life.

Organization as Foundation
Organization also establishes the conditions for the further progress and development of all of the elements of life. The greater the level of organization --- in terms of cleanliness, orderliness, systemization, regularity, coordination, integration, etc. -- the more solid the foundation for further development, progress, creativity, and possibility.

Organization as Foundation Existence
Organization is the foundation of existence. It is also the solid basis that enables life to thrive.

Understanding Organization by Conceiving Its Absence
Observe a child at 8 or 12. He is under the parental direction that has taken the direction of schooling. School organises the child's energies. Remove the parental direction. Now you see the role of organisation. It is evident.

A man at 40 is under his own direction i.e. discipline. Remove the discipline in one year, a middle class man will be in the slum. One in the slum has al the slum opportunities. By organization, he becomes a middle class person.

The role of organising can be seen in an office, school, army, family, etc. when it is removed. Conceive of the first occasion when organization was introduced at first and compare it with the unorganised state. (MSS)

Organization at Every level of Existence
We can see organization at work at every level of existence; in our own daily lives, in the institutions we partake in, in the society that surrounds us - even in the universe itself.

Organization for the Individual, Society, and the Universe
We can see organization at work at every level of existence; in our own daily lives, in the institutions we partake in, in the society that surrounds us - even in the universe itself.

In our individual lives, organization shows itself in a myriad of ways. E.g. behind every routine physical activity we engage in - whether waking, washing, cleaning, eating, dressing, etc. - there is a degree of organization. We also experience mental forms of organization, such as when we develop and then follow the schedule on our computerized calendar, or when we examine a flight schedule at the airport, or take an exam in order to attend a reputable university.

Society too has its endless systems of organization -- including water treatment plants, gas and electric utility distribution, traffic control, security systems, computer and telecommunication systems, business operating procedure, etc. - so that human life can function easily and efficiently.

Then there is the organization of life itself. First, we human beings are ourselves a complex organism, consisting of a variety of own internal systems - circulatory, nervous, digestive, thought processing, et al - that coordinate and integrate with one another, forming the essential makeup of our being. These interconnected systems allow us to function with relative ease and efficiency in the field of life.

Then there is the earth itself which contains a number of its own complex systems - biological, atmospheric, gravitational, etc. - that serve as the basis for life. Moving deeper into space, we see there is an ordered movement of the planets around the sun - which is the solar system. Going further out, we see the organized constructs of billions of stars coming together in galaxies, which follow their own processes and physical forms of organization.

In addition to these gross/material forms, there are also subtle formations of organization permeating the universe that defy our normal perceptions. I have suggested elsewhere that there is a subtle web-like system permeating the entire cosmos, linking the energies of all elements, objects, and individuals in a profound Oneness and Unity of being. This is perhaps the most extraordinary organization of all - one that we can learn to harness to enable the infinite potential of life to become our living reality.

Organization in the Process of Creation
-Creation came about through real Ideas of a Divine Source hat was organized through the action of Truth Consciousness that enabled Force to become Energy and the source of all forms in creation.

-It is the same for he individual. He conceives of a possibility, organized it into the details and executes his plan.

-Organization turns conception into realization; force into Materialization, Matter.

Organization as Mechanism for any New Consciousness/Awareness to Achieve
Sri Aurobindo writes that Life evolves by consciousness, consciousness evolves by organization. Organization is the essential mechanism for any new consciousness/awareness to act effectively in our lives to achieve results. It is true for the individual, the company, the society and the universe.

Organization as Efficiency
Organization is efficiency. It allows you to do the most with the least in the shortest period time.

Personal Organization

Organization for Individual Existence
Organization is the foundation for individual existence. It is also the solid basis that enables the individual to thrive.

On Personal Organization
-Personal organization is order in one's life so it can exist.

-Personal organization is the ordering mechanism of our personal existence.

-Personal organization enables our lives to be orderly, systematic, coordinated, and integrated.

-Personal organization is insure that everything you want to accomplish has an opportunity to do so.

-Organization is the solid basis and foundation for accomplishment.

Organization at Three Planes for the Individual
Like all of the cosmos, organization expresses for the individual at three planes - the physical/material, the vital, and the mental. For example, when I clean up a room or an office, or put the books in my library in order, I am primarily engaging in physical organization. When I reorient my emotions, feeling, and attitudes towards another person or towards my company, I am engaged in vital organization. When I organize my schedule, or turn facts of information into new ideas, concepts, and insights, I am engaged in mental organization.

Physical and Mental Organization
In our individual lives organization shows itself in a myriad of ways. E.g. behind every routine physical activity we engage in - whether waking, washing, cleaning, eating, dressing, etc. - there is a degree of organization. We also experience mental forms of organization, such as when we develop and then follow the schedule on our computerized calendar, or when we examine a flight schedule at the airport, or take an exam in order to attend a reputable university.

Organizing Gathers Force at Three Levels
Organization gathers energies into a force for accomplishment -- including physical, vital, and mental energies; even Spiritual energies if they are organized thusly.

Ways to Increase Personal Organization
Among the ways we an organize ourselves
are --

  • by organizing physical things around us-such as our home, our paperwork, our finance, etc.
  • by increasing our level of cleanliness and orderliness around us
  • by being punctual and on time
  • by prioritizing to whom our emotions and attention should go
  • by managing our time, our schedules, our work
  • by systematizing activities in our lives -- from cleaning and cooking to bookkeeping
  • by balancing our work load during the day
  • by coordinating and organizing our communications with others
  • by further organizing and distilling the knowledge we have in life
  • by delegating work, tasks, and duties to others when appropriate
  • by planning out our goals and aspirations
  • by sorting out in life what is truly important to us
  • by organize and prioritizing the personal values that are dear to us
  • by organizing in our mind our thoughts for better understanding

Utility of Personal Organization

Utility of Personal Organization
-Personal organization is order in one's life so it can exist.

-Personal organization is the ordering mechanism of our personal existence.

-Personal organization enables our lives to be orderly, systematic, coordinated, and integrated.

-Personal organization is insure that everything you want to accomplish has an opportunity to do so.

-Organization is the solid basis and foundation for accomplishment.

Success of the Individual
Individuals succeed through skill, knowledge, organization, strength, effort, and right attitudes.

Great Value of Organization

The one aspect of life that is perhaps most undervalued is organization; practical organization of our outer lives (e.g. orderliness, cleanliness, punctuality, et al), conscious organization of our inner lives, and the awareness of the awesome subtle organization of hidden forces, powers, and workings of life in the world and the universe.

Perfect Execution of Organized Acts
When you are focused and organized to do an action, it very often ends in a perfect execution. It is a miracle of life flow, and an indicator of how we can live lives of infinite perfection. 90% of the time we execute acts unconsciously, without thought, rather than through organized mental planning. This organization is the great secret of our mentality to bring infinite possibilities into our seemingly finite existence.

Power of Organization of the Possibilities
-Life offers so many possibilities. When we encounter the many potentials in life we move from being human to an even higher functioning and status. This shift in our lives is exhilarating. Still to becomes useful in our lives these possibilities need to be organized in some fashion. Otherwise, they remain as just potentials for a very long time. When organized they are focused into a power that enables them to become truly useful to us; i.e. they become a utilitarian reality in a very short period of time. E.g. one man is thrilled as he becomes aware of a number of new ideas in his life. When he decided to organize them through categorization, his ultimate purpose, to understand the true meaning and interrelationships of these ideas, occurs in a very short time. How can we organize the possibilities in our lives that we see before us to turn them rapidly into a living reality?

-Life progresses through consciousness. When we organize our inner and outer lives we raise this consciousness. Higher organization equals higher consciousness, and thus greater results.

-Life progresses through consciousness, and consciousness progresses through organization. At the next stage, what emerges is organizational consciousness which is inspiration. (Paraphrase of MSS)

Organization to Plan Your Life
Perhaps the ultimate way to utilize the secret power of organization is to follow a process that enables us to achieve our hearts desire. When we follow the ''process of creation,"ť we in essence use self-conceptive capacities of mind to plan and organize our future - turning our vision of what we want to accomplish, of what we want to become, into a living reality. By first envisioning our goal, then detailing how we intent to accomplish it, and then making the full, persevering effort to see it come about, we are organizing our future existence for accomplishment and success. Like other forms of organization, following this process can -- under the right conditions -- evoke magnificent responses from life.

Organization is Discipline of Living
Organization is discipline in action, and that to live, discipline is quite indispensable. (The Mother)

From Organization to Material Results
Greater organization of the person enables greater consciousness towards the gathered force, hence its greater concentration moving towards material results. I.e. higher organization is higher consciousness is higher concentration of force is greater likelihood of material result.

Planning, Organization Vastly Increases Results

100% more planning for an endeavor, which may be but a fraction of time of the project, yields 90% greater results.

Personal Organization and Life Response

Organization and Life Response
At first glance, ''organization"ť does not seem like a very exciting topic for discussion. However, our own experience is that there is no faster way to attract success than by adopting a higher level of organization in life. There are a number of ways to organize yourself -- through higher levels of cleanliness and orderliness, by further systemizing your accounts and records, by organizing your time through a to do list and calendar, and even by organizing your thoughts, ideas, and concepts for greater logic and clarity. Such efforts at higher organization have a tendency to attract sudden good fortune. One man went through his accounting books, and out of nowhere received a check for $5000. A consultant cleaned his filthy refrigerator and suddenly received months' worth of consulting work when just earlier there was no work in sight. Similarly, a business owner cleaned his stocks of slow-selling inventory, suddenly attracting a buyer who not only purchased the slow selling stocks, but six months' worth of additional orders! Action Plan: Consider various areas of life where you can raise your level of organization, and develop a plan for improvement. Then make the full effort to carry out your plan. Watch life suddenly and abundantly respond from all directions!

Organization and Instantaneous Good Fortune
Any effort to raise our level of physical, vital, mental, and spiritual organization will surely bring about practical results that will lead to greater accomplishment and success. What we do not understand, however, is how taking to higher levels of organization at any of these levels tends to invoke instantaneous good fortune.

Organization & Life Response
A
ny effort to raise our level of organization - be it physical, vital, mental - will not only bring about practical results, but, under the right conditions, can bring about instantaneous good fortune. This sudden arrival of positive abundance is what I call a ''life response."ť

Greater Organization and Systemization Attracts Positive Life Response
Efforts to organize or systematize things at a greater level brings about positive responses from life.

LIFE RESPONSE EXAMPLES
-A company had just launched a new product, yet did not yet have any sales on the product, despite considerable effort. One day the manager decided to go through the operations manual to update it to the latest information, including procedures related to the new product. He did this late in the work day. Early the very next morning he saw the first order for the product come in through the company's web site.

-An individual organizes his web site for greater clarity and organization, and gets a positive life response.

Mental Organization that Attracts
Organizing information in your mind, i.e. turning facts into clear ideas and concepts for greater understanding - can evoke marvelous responses from life.

Other

Organizing through Action
Though mind can organize through thought, action can enable fresh, new, unforeseen organization without thought.

Organizing Transcends the Thing Organized
Whatever you organise, you transcend. To organise something, you must be above that. (MSS)

Cleanliness, Orderliness, Systemization
(topic)

In Terms of Consciousness

Cleanliness and Orderliness
Lack of cleanliness and orderliness, e.g. not putting things back into their proper place, retards the future; i.e. it reduces chances for progress.

Organization of Physical Things
Orderly harmony and organisation in physical things is a necessary part of efficiency and perfection and makes the instrument fit for whatever work is given to it. (Sri Aurobindo)

Care and Sensitivity to Physical Things
It is very true that physical things have a consciousness within them which feels and responds to care and is sensitive to careless touch and rough handling. To know or feel that and learn to be careful of them is a great progress of consciousness. (Sri Aurobindo)

Ways of Perceiving Cleanliness
Perhaps the most basic level of organization is cleanliness. Adding orderliness to cleanliness gives it an even greater power. The act of cleaning can be looked at in several different ways, e.g.-

  • to look pleasant to the sense

  • to enable better access to things

  • to bring out a more positive atmosphere

  • to enable perfection

  • to enable better self-functioning

  • to brings its Essence to the surface

  • to attract positive conditions

  • As a self-offering to the Divine

The level we engage the act will determine the outcome and experience -- in terms of organization, energy released, enjoyment, etc.

Orderliness that Issues Out of Cleanliness
One cannot take cleaning to great heights without orderliness. To put your things in order, and that too in perfect order, especially when you have an abundance of objects, will leave no time for anything else. (MSS)

Conscious Force and Cleanliness
Every thing, has an essence, which is the original conscious Force of the Divine embedded in it. When we make contact with it, we bring that power to the surface. Cleaning an object is one way to do that. The conscious Force we bring out will be determined by the attitude and motive we bring to the act.

Cleanliness Brings Out the Spirit in Matter
"Well, every time we clean a place or something the Divine inside the thing/place responds."

Thank you S for this statement. It is a powerful reminder that involved, embedded -- hidden away in the depths of all things -- is the Conscious Force. Even in inconscient, unconscious matter there is the seed of that Divine power, Spirit at its core, asleep, waiting to be awaken. By cleanliness, we somehow stimulate that essence, and bring it to the surface of life. When we do, life also responds.

This is very timely for me as I am editing my chapter on Organization in my Life Response book. The opening section is on Cleanliness and its awesome power to evoke the response. I am always trying to bring out clearer, more penetrating arguments. You have reminded me here of a central one.

I am also rereading and paraphrasing the chapter on Matter in Sri Aurobindo's 'The Life Divine', which covers the same subject. The argument there is how matter emerged from the action of the cosmic plane of Mind and how it became divided and unconscious. However, we can overcome that through our own rise in consciousness and bring out the inner spirit, conscious-force power of matter to the surface.

Consecration is thus a powerful method to do so. It is to call the Divine to bring out the divine in matter. Even organization does it without consecrating because it connects directly to the embedded spirit of the thing, which sends out signals that align us with corresponding positive elements, circumstance, and people in space-time that we experience as incidents of sudden good fortune.

Consecrated cleanliness is surely better however since the power above is working directly with the spirit in matter, without the limits of our personality.

Cleanliness and Orderliness
Lack of cleanliness and orderliness, e.g. not putting things back into their proper place, retards the future; i.e. it reduces chances for progress.

Orderliness that Issues Out of Cleanliness
One cannot take cleaning to great heights without orderliness. To put your things in order, and that too in perfect order, especially when you have an abundance of objects, will leave no time for anything else. (MSS)

Organization of Physical Things
Orderly harmony and organisation in physical things is a necessary part of efficiency and perfection and makes the instrument fit for whatever work is given to it. (Sri Aurobindo)

Levels at Which to Address Cleanliness
First Level: Cleanliness for the sake of cleanliness because it is an orderliness.
Second Level: Cleanliness brings prosperity-so I have to clean.
Third Level: Because the Divine likes it.
Fourth Level: Receptivity of Grace can be increased with more cleanliness.
Fifth Level: Cleaning is spiritual skill expressed in physical work. By this I am bringing the Spirit / Brahman of the matter/ article out.
Sixth level: Cleanliness and orderliness is important because the aim of Conscious Force is to express itself in perfect Form.
Seventh Level: Cleaning is light. Dirt is darkness. By cleaning more and more we are subjecting the place to more and more light there by becoming the instrument of the Divine. (MSS, slightly modified)

In Terms of Life Response

Cleanliness and Life Response
Any serious attempt to raise the level of cleanliness of one's environment --- whether a bathroom, an office, a closet, a yard, a showroom, a bookcase, etc. -- can attract sudden and abundant response. That miracle will usually come in the form of more work, money, opportunity -- even appreciation and goodwill.

Cleanliness & Life Response
Perhaps the most fundamental form of organization is taking to higher levels of cleanliness. Over the years we have seen that serious attempt to raise the level of cleanliness in our environment will not only produce physically pleasing results, but is also likely to attract sudden good fortune -- in the form of more money, sales, opportunity, and other positive benefits. For example, one man got down on his hands and knees one day to clean out the grit and grime in his refrigerator. At the very instant he rose from that effort, he received a call notifying him that he had just secured several months of new work -- when only a moment earlier he had nothing scheduled for the future. In another case, a consultant suggested to a manager that his staff clean up every trace of carbon particles used to produce carbon brushes for the auto industry. As soon as the effort was completed, a customer suddenly arrived from out of nowhere, and purchased his own firm's entire carbon brush needs from that supplier. In yet a third incident, a businessperson decided to clean his slow-moving stocks of inventory in response to a suggestion by a wise consultant. Thereafter, (once again) a buyer suddenly appeared from out of nowhere and purchased all of the dead stocks. He then went on to buy an additional six months worth of the merchant's inventory!

Life Response and Cleanliness
"Cleanliness is Godliness." It's literally true. A man cleaned his apartment even though he wasn't feeling too well. Just as he was completing the work, a big check comes in the mail. There are endless examples where an individual raised his level of cleanliness or orderliness one notch higher, or overcame lack thereof, and money comes pouring in as a miraculous positive response from life.  As a result we are tapping into higher consciousness, which is Godliness. Godliness is there when life responds outwardly as a result of an inner change or outer action. This is what is known as "simultaneous miraculousness."

Greater Cleanliness, Orderliness Attracts Positive Life Response

If you make the effort to increase your level of cleanliness or orderliness one level higher than it is now, life has a great tendency to respond positively in kind.

LIFE RESPONSE EXAMPLES
-A consultant cleaned a rarely cleaned part of his refrigerator, and instantly got a call for a great deal of more work. That same man a man had not cleaned an area in the back of a bureau in a bathroom for years. He cleaned that area and within five minutes he got a big client for a considerable amount of work.

-The Spirit is universal in its action, which means what one man does [rooted in spirit] benefits all such men in his emotional world. E.g. one individual dedicated to spirit applied that ideal through extreme cleanliness of her surroundings. As a result of this value, events transpired that not only benefited her, but expanded out, multiplied to benefit many others surrounding her.

Cleaning Cabinet Attracts
One of the principle of life is that it responds to higher levels of cleanliness and orderliness. Today my partner made a serious effort to organize and clean a  large metal cabinet astride her work space. When I then went down to check my mail, I received a letter containing a check I had been expecting. Except it was at least three times the amount I anticipated, and one of the biggest of my life! When we raise our level of orderliness and cleanliness, life quickly cooperates, especially when it comes to money.

Cleanliness Attracts Grace
Cleanliness attracts grace. Grace comes to one in every conceivable form, as accomplishment, appreciation, cheerfulness, rain, money, good will, etc. etc.
(MSS)

Orderliness & Life Response
Though taking to higher levels of cleanliness can attract wonderful results, cleanliness reaches its apex and perfection when it is accompanied by orderliness - i.e. by putting things in their right place, sorting things out, arranging them in a logical manner, categorizing and dividing objects for easy access and retrieval, etc. For example, if a retail business selling to the public not only cleans up the tools and inventory strewn here and there in its stock yard, but places them in their right individual locations for easy access and retrieval, not only will efficiency be increased, but life is likely respond in kind. Likewise, if an individual not only cleans the papers, folders, and books left here and there on a table in an office, but also takes to finally organizing them in an orderly and systematic fashion, a sudden positive response is also likely to come her way. (By the way, in the incident where the individual cleaned his refrigerator attracting several months' worth of work, he not only scrubbed the filth, but also returned each grouping of foodstuffs to their designated areas.)

Systemization
Where cleanliness makes objects presentable and useful, and orderliness places them in recognizable patterns, categories, et al for easy access, systemization goes much further - organizing them in their proper time sequence; and coordinating and integrating them with one another for greater efficiency, possibility, and results. Like cleanliness and orderliness, higher levels of systematic functioning can also invoke sudden powerful responses from life. For example, one company put in considerable time and effort to develop a software product, but after several months had not yet generated any sales. Then someone decided to reorganize parts of the program for greater consistency, ease of use, and integration with its other parts. The next morning, the business owner was stunned when the first order for the product came in over the web.

Life Responds to Task Breakdown, Sequence, and Focus

The other day I was on my way out of a mega bookstore after reading a few articles and looking at a book I was considering purchasing. However, before leaving the store, I needed to put back a magazine and book to their original locations. Normally, I would just go ahead and do that quite unconsciously, without distinguishing each of the steps involved. This time however, I decided to think about each thing I had to do, and what order to do them in. In other words, I was breaking down the Whole of the act into its constituent parts, meticulously focusing on each, and then carrying them out.

With my mini-plan in mind, I then rode down the escalator with the intention of first returning the book, and then taking care of the magazine. Interestingly, when I came to the plethora of book shelves, I immediately saw a duplicate of the orange book I was holding in my hand. This was startling to me since there were thousands of books in the area, yet this one stood out amongst all as if a light were shining on it, guiding me to the precise place to return my own volume.  I then quickly returned my book to its exact location.

A few moments later, I reflected on the event, and soon understand the principle behind the startling outcome. Because I broke down a normally unconscious act into its constituent components, focusing and devising a sequence to accomplish each, I attracted a result that overcame space and time. Through a small effort of mental organization, I instantly found and overcame space, since my wandering to find the right location was reduced to zero; and did so in a matter of seconds, thereby also overcoming time. As a result, my effort for that step was reduced to practically nothing.

When we organize that which we have to do in our minds, carry it out willfully and enthusiastically with skill and right attitude, life immediately responds in our favor. Through conscious organization of Mind, both space and time are overcome. Also, what we thought limited in potential reverses and become limitless in result. In essence, by conceiving, organizing, and executing in this way, we have created a 'Complete Act;' one that tends to draw powerful results from life in little or no time at all.

We can follow that same procedure as we go about our day’s business by breaking down any task at hand into its constituent parts, strategizing the best approach, sequencing it, and then carrying it out with enthusiasm, skill, and positive attitude. As a result, life will quickly cooperate; often from the most unexpected quarters. It is one of the secrets of great accomplishment in life.

Powers of Mental Organization

[excerpted from the book ‘The Miraculous Phenomenon of Life Response’ by Roy Posner]

Organization occurs along a continuum from physical to vital to mental. We can even see shadings of organization within each. For example, within the mental plane we can engage in basic thought; or higher-level mental activities such as analysis (i.e. the breaking down) and synthesis (the building up). The interesting point is that when we take to these forms of mental organization, we attract breathtaking life response results. Here are three examples.

The New Category

Periodically it is my task to categorize the thousands of thoughts in the knowledge base area of Growth Online: a web site dedicated to personal growth that I founded in 1997.Well one day I was gathering together a number of these ideas for a new category I was developing. Essentially, I would sift through the knowledge base area, look for a trend, and compile them into the newly formed category. Once I complete that task, I would normally upload the content to our web server so that the thousands of people worldwide who visit the site daily can have access to the information. However, in this instance, I decided that before uploading, I would check my email for any messages. After I opened my Outlook application, I noticed that I received a single message in my inbox. It turned out to be from a Growth Online reader who was inquiring about a particular subject matter. When I examined it a little closer, I was astonished to see that it was on the very subject I had just created a category for!

To appreciate why this was astonishing, consider the following facts. First, there are hundreds, perhaps thousands of topics addressed at Growth Online. Thus the chance of receiving a response on any particular subject, like this one, is extremely low. (I only receive a few emails for Growth Online per day.) Second, the inquiry was on a subject that did not even exist at the site, since I had not uploaded it yet. Third, the response was on the very topic I was about to upload. And finally, the reader’s message was the only email I received when I opened my Outlook email program just before uploading that information. The chances of any one of these things happening are extremely remote -- perhaps one in ten thousand. The chance of all four happening simultaneously is off the charts. For all intensive purposes, it was an impossibility. Yet it occurred.

Think a Little; Receive a Lot

Now for the second mental organization episode. Over the years, it has been one of my tasks as an educator to take difficult ideas and present them in ways that are easy for others to understand. I have performed this function countless times -- not only for the thousands of students who have attended my training classes, but for the hundreds of thousands of readers who have read my articles at Growth Online. Of course, in order to offer such pre-digested knowledge to others, the concepts have to be clear to me in the first place. That has not always been the easiest of chores -- especially when it involves turning arcane technical jargon or dense philosophical arguments into simple, easy-to-understand concepts. What has been particularly striking, however, is that nearly every time I exercise my mind in this way, a powerful response follows.

For example, one time I was straining to understand a complex metaphysical concept. After considerable effort, however, I still could not grasp the underlying principle. Then I tried to break it into smaller components; but the divisions I developed were still incoherent. After racking my brain, I finally gave up, hoping that a clearer understanding would come on its own if I forgot the matter.

The next morning, when I opened my email program, I saw a message from my spiritual teacher. After reading a portion of his remarks, I soon realized that he had written to me on the very subject I had been struggling with the previous evening! It was remarkable not only because he had no idea I was thinking of that topic, but because out of the hundreds, if not thousands of subjects we have discussed over the years, he happened to pick the one I had been struggling with. Perhaps even more striking was the fact that the email contained not merely a few paragraphs on the subject, but an entire paper on it -- with extensive detailed analysis!

When I thought about it, I realized that my efforts to organize a dense metaphysical concept into a series of newly developed precepts triggered this remarkable life response event. The response from my teacher not only clarified the overall issue, but through his extensive paper, illuminated in painstaking detail all the salient points. In the end, because I made a small effort at organizing knowledge, life responded with a torrent of information on that very subject. It was for me a breathtaking moment: an instance of pure magic.

Organizing Organization

Finally, there was the time I began organizing the chapter you are now reading: “The Great Secret: Organization.” At one point in that effort, I took a short break to check my messages. When I opened the email app, lo and behold there was a message from a reader inquiring about that very same subject of ‘organization!’ It was remarkable not only because it arrived just as I began developing the chapter, but it was the first inquiry I had ever received on the subject of organization from any reader in all the years Growth Online had been in operation! Again, the probability of that happening is beyond calculation.

But the story didn’t end there. When I then asked a management consultant friend of mine -- with whom I had been out of touch with for a long awhile -- if he had any ideas that would be helpful for this individual, he said that it was ironic I had contacted him now since he too was deeply engrossed in thoughts about organization! In fact, he told me that he was in the process of developing an entire organizational plan to help a large Indian media company improve their business operations. It was clear that my intense effort to organize a chapter on the topic of organization continued to reverberate forward in time.

Organizing Information through the Power of Mind
Though we can organize the material world outside ourselves, we can also organize the subtle aspects of our own being. E.g., we can reorient our habits, feelings, emotions, thoughts, ideas, and beliefs - even the plans we make to further accomplish in life. Over the years I have pointed out that if you think about and then reverse your hard emotions and feelings, your wanting attitudes, or your ill-founded habits and beliefs, life is likely to respond with sudden good fortune. Here I would like to focus on how organizing information in your mind, i.e. turning facts into clear ideas and concepts for greater understanding - can evoke marvelous responses from life.

One day a man racked his brains to understand a difficult metaphysical concept. Though he did not succeed fully in his efforts, the next morning he received an email from an associate that provided him with the complete knowledge that he was grappling with -- including the details of all of its finer points! (The other person had no idea he had been thinking about this subject.) He sat there stunned, in awe of the miracle that he was viewing on his screen. In yet another episode, an individual used the mental capacities of reason and logic to reorganize a series of concepts on a particular topic covered at his organization's web site. His goal was to make the subject easier for his readers to understand. A moment later - and before the changes were even posted to the server - he received an email inquiring into that very same topic. Not only was it the only email in his inbox, it was also the first inquiry the organization ever received on that topic after years of it being available online! (It should also be noted, that hundreds of topics were covered at the site.) Finally, over the years I have had my own interesting experiences where after making a concerted effort to turn challenging concepts into simple, presentable ideas for my students, I suddenly attracted a stream of new contracts. There were even astonishing episodes where the contracts I received involved the very subject I had just made the mental effort to organize. (Since I teach a number of subjects, and my agents knew nothing of my efforts in that specific case, these ''particularized responses"ť always struck me as astonishing.)

Interviewing One's Self
(On the technique of interviewing one's self; as if by a radio or tv personality.)

This is an excellent way to know your mind better so you can apply its wisdom in a practical way. I do this often myself when walking or driving long distance.

What is startling is that you will see that you know much more than you thought you know, often bringing out startling, innovative insights.

We rarely organize our mind, as we might our desk, work area, closet. But through this Interview technique that is what happens.

Ultimate Organization: Following the Process of Accomplishment
While these [cleanliness, orderliness, systemization, etc.]are, in essence, narrowly focused approaches, perhaps the ultimate power of personal organization is to consciously follow a process to fix the course of your future direction in life. Like other forms of organization, following this process can, under the right conditions, evoke magnificent responses from life.

One individual decided that instead of merely dashing out on a weekend outing to take photographs of the shoreline around the bay, he would first plan out his trip. As a result, every conceivable thing went right for him that day. In another instance, when a woman implemented a 30-day plan to secure a new job position, she very quickly received one - her first full-time position in nearly a decade of trying. In a third instance, a man who had avoided working on a project changed his point of view, and then followed this process in detail to insure that it ended a success. A moment after he emailed someone the finished product, he received an unexpected note offering him three months worth of work in a related area.

Organization

Organizing a Work for Greater Efficiency Attracts

When you reduce, condense, better organize, or otherwise make more efficient a sprawling or redundant work, life responds to that effort, fulfilling a previous intention, such as an aspiration for more work or money. (Other forms of higher levels of organization -- e.g. increased cleanliness, orderliness, systemization, maximum utilization of resources -- share this same life response power.)

Cleanliness, Orderliness

Power of Cleanliness and Orderliness to Attract Money and Well-Being

A reader's narrative demonstrates once more the power of increased cleanliness and orderliness to attract more money and better health in life:

"1. My car cleaning was pending and it was disturbing my mind for a few days,

a) a firm decision to clean on a Sunday surprisingly brought me back $1000. I reserved this money for my parents and got lost in between so many transactions I made couple of months back.

b) Action of cleaning the car well on the said date brought me a surprise refund of $300 from Pediatrix office after 7 months of delivery of my second son - No way I can imagine this

2. I have few plants in my patio. Though I knew that I had to replace soil, provide new pots for more space for them to grow and apply pesticides, I did not find time for that.

a) A firm decision to take care of them with new pots, best manure and potting mix brought me a great news of health recovery from my mother.

b) Action on the said date brought me another advancement in my Mother's health which avoided a possible surgery."

Life Response Power of Cleanliness and Organization

There is no greater power in life than that of organization. It not only creates the stability so life can thrive, but when we take to in higher order, we quickly attract positive conditions. E.g. there is no faster way to attract good fortune than cleaning an area that has been neglected. One man decided to clean his refrigerator and attracted months' worth of work when not a jot was in sight.

The same life response principle applies to ordering things, categorizing them, systematizing, etc. One company in a dire financial position did this and attracted a huge amount of cash from out of nowhere. Another business owner in dire need of sales cleaned his stocks of inventory, and suddenly attracted an individual who purchased six months of orders from that firm.

Even a plan where there was none before will attract sudden good fortune related to that goal in some fashion. Recently in Libya, the very disorganized rebels devised a plan for their way towards Tripoli, and when they got there were shocked to see that there was virtually no opposition.

For those who are disorganized, any effort in that area will attract such Luck. For those who are already somewhat organized, increasing it by 10% or more will also attract powerful life response results. I have seen this phenomenon at work countless times in my life. I hope you get to experience that same miraculous-like benefit in your own life by organizing yourself and your environment at a higher level.

Evoking Response through Higher Levels of Cleanliness and Orderliness

The other day I reorganized by living room, tossing away aging books, cabinets, etc. In other words, I took to a higher level of cleanliness and orderliness. I then thought I would like to give the cabinets away to the complex's handyman. For one, it was very heavy, and perhaps he could make use of it in his shed.

Well it turns out that at the very instant I completed the organization, stepped outside of my home, and completed dragging the very heavy cabinet in front of my door, that very same individual appeared in front of me from out of nowhere. Out of the dozens of people who could have appeared at that moment, he did, and at that exact moment down to the second. He then of course happily agreed to take the old cabinet without any prodding on my part.

That is how life moves with miraculous-like precision when you elevate your level of organization; in this case of cleanliness and orderliness. Life conspires to fulfill your wishes with startling efficiency challenging our notions of space and time, and what is possible.

One final note: The next day, when I returned from purchasing several new plants to replace the bookshelves and books, the same man instantly (within one second of my arrival!) walked in front of me; again from out of dozens who could have been there. (No one else was around!)

I saw the connection once more. This time it seemed cosmically comical, reminding me of the joyful events you attract when you elevate your consciousness; in this case, by taking to a higher level of cleanliness and orderliness, two great powers of organization.

Levels of Relating to Cleanliness

At first level, cleaning starts giving results as response to attention; at next level, for one's attitude that the Divine (Mother) likes it; at third level, for the mind that by cleaning we are more and more subjecting the atmosphere to light; and at fourth level, it should be like Spirit's understanding that by cleanliness I am becoming instrument of the Divine (Mother) for some manifestation. Accuracy and Order

Accuracy and order are great mental powers or values of Organization.

Overview

Power of Organization

Perhaps the most underrated power in the world is that of Organization. What is it? Organization is a power and capacity of the Mind to achieve the greatest results with the minimum use of energy, resources, and time.

As a result or organization -- whether in the form of cleanliness, orderliness, systemization, coordination, planning, goal-setting, etc. -- human energies multiply and as a result we establish conditions for life to thrive.

Like Knowledge, Will, and Imagination, Organization is one of the great faculties of human mentality. Taking to it in higher order, attracts enormous success and makes life far more tolerable. In fact, it is the central means by which we bring life under control so it can truly blossom in every dimension. (2009-2011 Q1)

Power of Organization

10% organization, such as planning, can reduce effort 90%. That act of efficiency attracts Life Efficiency. (2009-2011 Q1)

Higher Organization = Higher Energy, Accomplishment

Cleanliness, orderliness, systemization, and other forms of organization attract new supplies of energy that manifest as accomplishment. v

Organization of Infinite and in Life

-Organization overcomes space and time in the most practical sense. It is a universal power descended from the Infinite available to us to improve life and enable progress.

-When the infinite organized consciousness into matter, it gave us the power to organize matter, life, and mind into their higher formations.

-'Above,' organization is from spirit to matter. Here, 'below,' it is the opposite. One is decent, involution; the other is ascent, evolution. v

Overcoming Confused Understanding Attracts

When you make the effort to break through one's confusion about a subject matter, organize it, figure it out, clarify it, life has a tendency to respond with sudden good fortune in a related field or area. (2009-2011 Q1)

Cosmic Results from Organizing a Project Well

When you organize a project to a higher level, not only do you generate basic, expected outcomes, but life responds and quickly brings unexpected results --far exceeding what you expected. For example, one man organized a new prospective project to a much higher level, only to see an older related project suddenly blossom before his eyes. v

Growth of Consciousness and Organization

Life evolves through growth of consciousness, even as consciousness evolves through greater organization. (from The Book by Garry Jacobs) (2009-2011 Q1)

Cleanliness, Orderliness, Systemization

Effort & Cleanliness, Alone or in Tandem, Quickly Attract

Making the extra physical effort, or taking to higher levels of cleanliness, or better still, both in tandem will quickly attract more money, more work, and other forms of benefit. (2009-2011 Q1)

(2009-2011 Q1)

McDonald's Vast Success and Cleanliness

McDonald's obsession with cleanliness has attracted the entire world to them. (2009-2011 Q1)

Cleanliness and Orderliness to Resolve Problems, Stagnation

When you have a money problem, it is best to insure that the surroundings office, machines, home, etc. is made is perfectly clean and orderly as possible. The same approach is suggested when business is stagnating or dull. Life quickly responds to such efforts. Problems will dissolve, money will arrive, and business will expand. It is a secret truth about life that never fails to astound every time the miraculous-like response occurs. (2009-2011 Q1)
