Disliking to Liking

Dislike disappears only when it turns into liking on the strength of its own intensity. (MSS)

Being Vigilant About Goodwill that Masks Ill-Will

On Facebook I have been adding numerous comments based on Sri Aurobindo, Mother's, Karmayogi's, and Garry Sir's ideas. They have been well received, and there is at times lively discussion. Over time my "friends" there have increased, and I am more than willing to accept them into the fold. However, one young friend who had very good will, and was familiar with my and Karmayogi's teachings, unknowingly carried a negative vibration. The result was that at the moment I saw his content of the place he visited, my car, now in the parking lot was smashed into by the one next to it. (No one was in the car or injured.) I quickly realized that the individual carried the vibration of the said hostile party he visited.

Now I am forced to be vigilant when interacting with all participants, even those with the most outer goodwill. They may be a carrier of something untoward and hostile in the interaction.

A bi-product is that such circumstance forces not only force one to be more diligent, but to more clearly perceive the unfoldings of life; to carefully read the sign and sense the vibrations, so one can walk without harm through life's exigencies, and still shine a Light on the world.

Instruments of Ill-Will

Often individuals are instruments of other's ill-will though they do not know it. They may even have good-will towards the recipient as carriers of the negative they are unaware of.

Wishing Others to Fail/Succeed and Our Own Achievement

Wishing others to fail creates a vibration for us to do the same. On the other hand, Goodwill toward others -- e.g. enjoying another's success, or hoping for them to prosper -- creates the very best condition for our own achievement. It attracts mightily.

Shielding from Harm Attracts Invitations from Those of Goodwill

When you make an inner commitment to shield yourself from the harm of others, others with good will without your knowledge synchronously bring you closer, inviting you to their positive inner sanctum, group, or organization.

Perceiving and Acting On the Goodwill and Ill-Will of Others

The spiritual individual has the subtle sense to discriminate between those who have goodwill and those with ill-will, and therefore how to proceed with these individuals in the future. It requires a scrupulous examination of the flow of life, i.e. what life brings to one, and must go beyond one's normal mental view of things.

Admiration Instead of Distaining Another’s Success

If someone's flying high, look up and admire his flight. Don't try and bring them down or wait for them to crash.

Comment: Yes, most people can't stand another's success. It is a dark part of our nature.

Seeing Behind the Serene and Quietly Engaging Facade

Recently due to Netflix streaming to my large screen TV, I have been afforded the opportunity to watch the hundreds of episodes of Star Trek across five different series without commercials. So many life lessons are presented there against a backdrop of futuristic technology.

Every dozen or so episodes there seems to be a story of a person who came across as humble and serene. This quality is endearing, especially at first. However, once the story develops, this seemingly elevated character turns out to be a fraud or filled with virulent attitudes and motives. There must have been several dozen episodes with this theme across 20 years of television episodes. If this is so, it must be there in the Character of Life. (It also serves the purpose of miss-direction and fooling the audience, but still there must be a truth in it being a living reality.)

Many people in history have had this demeanor, only to turn out negative. We all know of several ourselves. One I know ushered me into Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, and then turned fully hostile.

Karmayogi surely has explained this phenomenon in his many thousands of pages of writings. It is there everywhere in life.

In Pride and Prejudice, it is there in Wickham. Though not necessarily serene and taking to the Spirit, his outer demeanor was pleasing and winning. They were all then fooled by his treachery. In our lives too we must be vigilant, and perceive the limitations of motive and character behind the serene or quietly engaging facade.
