Meddlesomeness, Imposition of View

Knowledge Base

On Meddling
Most of the time when we meddle in other's affairs, it is for our own interest, not necessarily the truth of the situation. Life can then backfire on us.

On Meddling in Others' Affairs
Meddling in other affairs can bring positive, or far too often negative results. These outcomes can come in  the form of a short or long term negative response from life.  For example-

In Pride and Prejudice, the anachronistic and aristocratic Lady Catherine meddled in the affairs of Eliza Bennet, trying to prevent her from marrying Lady C's nephew, Darcy. It backfired, when through that meeting, Darcy found out Eliza loved her, proposed to her, and then they were married.

In that same story, Darcy meddled in the affairs of his friend Bingley, trying to prevent him marrying Eliza's sister Jane, which ended in Eliza when she learned of the fact rejecting Darcy's first marriage proposal, which devastated him.

In House of Eliott tv series, Arthur and Lydia meddle in the affairs of the two sisters, which backfires on them, leading to their own social ostracism.

The West meddled in the affairs of Russia at the inception if its Revolution, which backfired on the former when the Soviets turned it into evil Stalinism that was dangerously at odds with the it for over 50 years.

Forcing an Initiative
When one forces an initiative by meddling in others' affairs., it will generally backfire. E.g. Mrs. Bennett in Pride and Prejudice tried to meddle in a situation and it only leads to her failure.

Meddlesomeness in Emma, and Pride and Prejudice
Jane Austin's book Emma is a wonderful study in meddlesomeness, as is the character of Lady Catherine in 'Pride and Prejudice.' All such efforts fail and backfire.

Meddlesomeness, Manipulativeness, Imposition in Pride and Prejudice

-Lady Catherine with Eliza over Darcy

-Darcy’s action taking Bingley from Jane

-Mrs. Bennet on various occasions

Untitled
By helping others materially (altruism), if at the same time you want to impose your own viewpoint on them, you will kill their soul, because moral and social rules can be no substitute for the inner law which each one must receive from his soul. (The Mother)

Collusion Fails
Collusion backfires and turns into collision with unfolding circumstances.

Don't Insist
Never insist, as it indicates one is out of step with the flow, the becoming of things.
